I tell you JL has some great subs but my only wine is that they are not built very well. I have two 10w3D4 in my truck both with just over 1 cu. ft each. Pushed by a single 500/1 on 4 ohms they rocked for a little while until the connections pulled loose. This is not going to deter me in purchasing more JL, maybe the 10w6v2 or 12w6v2.

Okay, I know this is for the 10w6 reviews, but I must rave about the 10w7 subs. This is the best subwoofer I have ever heard. It's loud, It's clean and It's just plain awesome! Pair these subs with great amps and you will be untouchable. With only two 10W7, run by an Orion HCCA 275G4 (awesome amp, rated 900 x 1 @ 1.5 ohms) I hit 155.7 db and leveled everyone else in my class, even those who where in higher wattage classes. I blew away this truck that had 6-12" MTX Thunder 8000's with way more amp! Plus others who where running four 12's, three 15's, even another with eight 12's. JL Audio just smokes the rest. On a final note MTX is running there fat mouths saying that their new 9500's smoke the W7. HA! Never! MTX = Made To Xplod. Nuff said.

12" W7 can hit slighlty lower notes.But really none Blows all my friends subs out of the water!!!

THIS SUB PLAYS LIKE A DREAM!!! Hit's Hard and Loud. Gives a good "thump" . Needs a good amount of Dynamat for Trunk.

I used this sub to Replace a Blown 10W3v2D4 which was used to replace a blown 10W3v2D2. its in a Sealed box and being powered by a Rockford Fosgate punch 360.2 amp, so its well powered. this is the same amp i used to power the two previous subs, installed in a Honda Del Sol Si. after installing the Sub, i noticed a huge diffrence, the sub hits harder and louder. the sound was a little distorted but after fine tuning the amp, it was plenty clear at the highest of settings. Very Clear with my Boston Acustics Pro Series 6.5's and Complement them to the fullest.

I've owned a lot of speakers including some nice 12" Punch Pro Series from about 10 years ago... These two 10" subs sound far better than anything I've had yet. I have 2 10's running off of 1 JL 500/1 Class D amp in a '79 Z-28. when I pull up to a light people start looking around for a tricked out SUV!! I can't say enough, they rock!

I have had my 2 10w6's for about three years. I purchased them at a pawn shop so I do not know how old they really are, but they were in perfect shape when I bought them for $100ea. I agree with the statement that they are bullet proof. I have cranked them extremely loud, louder than they should have gone, without any problems. I have used two different box sizes with them and agree that if you go too small you lose the quality you paid for. I originally used .8 cuft and they went so low that you could almost count the frequency! Now I put them in .65 cuft and they hit unbelivably hard, although they are less efficent at the ultra low frequencies. I would not suggest going any smaller than .6 cuft. Then you would lose too much low end and think that they suck. JL Audio Forever!!

I work for a car stereo shop for about a year and out of everything we have nothing compares to JL and let me say that all of JL's amps, subs and speakers are by far the best equipment out there. And for those people who think they suck or what ever may be obviously you all dont know what good stuff is or good sound. If all you want is really loud boom then i dont think JL is your sub but for those who apretiate the good sound JL provides that with very smooth highs and nice low to mid bass. As others already mentioned you need to supply the subs and speakers with the right amount of power or else they wont sound right. so when you all who dont like JL because its not a big boom, just need to back off, oh and its probably you all cant affored the good stuff any way!!!!!!!!

Some of you guys on here are complete morons!!!!!!!! You obviously don't know anything about car audio or how to set things up!! JL's 10W6's have been their best product for years and have won more awards and contests than you idiots can count! I've been running three 10W6's for almost 8 years now and never had a single problem with them. If you use crap like "BAJA" and "BOSS" amps, then of course the subs are going to sound like crap! You need to run high quality equipment to these subs in order to make them sound good. It's A-HOLES like you that give companies a bad rap because of your stupidity and lack of knowledge when it comes to car audio. You have to remember, not all of us go to K-Mart and Discount AutoParts for our stereo equipment!!! Only if you stupid jerks could hear how dumb your idiotic reviews sound. It just goes to show how really stupid you all are!!!!!!!!!!
