i have 4 jl w4 12 dvc's in a sealed box running off a solid 1200 watts rms (jbl powervalve mono amp). i have them in a 2002 ford focus hatch back and its unreal what they can do it knocks the wind out of you sitting in my car when the bass hits

I have one of these in a Honda Civic, running off an Mtx amp putting out 450 watts bridged. For one woofer this sub hits hard. My friend is running two Fosgates and they only hit slighty harder. I first had it in a store bought box.I then made an mdf box to specks and it hit a lot harder. So if you git one make sure there is enough air space in the box.

When cranked up with crossover set to 80 hrts they will carkle a little bit But to fix that i am going to get 2 more 10 which can hit a bit higher.

The JL''s are a nice set of subs i am currently running them off of a boss 250x2 amp they hit hard and deep. They''re great subs to me for a larger SUV or jeep its not enough.WHich is why i want 2 10''s also probably im going to go with fosgates although i do like the jl''s there 10''s just don''t cut it for me. It does depend on the box you have them in but i would recomend these for everyone its a great sub. To me nothing but audiobahns can beat a good set up with the 12 inch jls.

i had 2 jl12w4 dual voice coil subs in a sealed box. They are the best speakers i have ever owned. No other speaker i''ve heard can hit the low notes like these. I had them for about 3 months bridged to a pioneer 600watt amp. For some reason, i think internal wiring, one of them overheated and blew. I would like to know if anyone here knows how much it would cost to repair the voice coil. Or maybe even buy it to repair themselves. I am currently running 2 12" PPI C1''s. They are decent speakers but nothing compared to my jls. They have a good punch to them, but no low bass at all.

Great clean bass, but you need a good amp with lots of power.

Don't go as low as the new pioneers.

Paid $100 each - use a ported box with a good amp (PPI, RF, a/d/s) or you will hear the weakness of these speakers, they're picky.

the surround falls apart...

i know this is for 12w4's..my review is for 12w3's....i had 2 12inch w3's for about 9 months...they sound really nice,great bass and all,but the surround on mine started falling off..from what i've read its happened to alot of other people to...i now have 2 12inch infinity perfects, and wow what a difference...talk about bass...i'm not trying to diss JL audio but the perfects put the w3's to shame.....(not trying to be a dick)but its true,its true...

This has to be one of the strongest subs out there I`ve had it for years, and tortured it with over tripple the wattage and it wont blow, or even show signs of failure. This sub hits real good paired up with a jlw1 10. This is also the most musical sub that I`ve ever owned, or heard. Good for rap, country, r&b, rock, organ, and more. I got this sub cheap, but would gladly pay double the retail for one of these. If you can get one of these you won`t be disapointed, and don`t be scared to overpower it it gets louder over 200 watts. Overall the best sub that Ive ever had for the money, highly recommended. The only product similar to this that I`ve used would be a pioneer premier 10, but I`ve used an audiobahn 18, 3 jlw6 15`s, 2w1 15`s, crunch 12, wl jl 10....

I'm running 1 12" to a punch 100 with the gain all the way up. It sounds
very nice and clear. It hits well with rap as well as any other type of music. It has a large range of frequency for bass, so it gets to that really low bass.

The outer cone is kinda flimsy.

Paid $100 bucks, I'd recommend getting two of these and runnnig it to an old punch 200. It's a good combination. Quality sub, can handle a lot of power. I'd recommend it to anyone gettting their first system or just want some extra bass.
