I have 3 JL W1 12 inch subs pushed by a single 2400 power series PPI amp. They produce so much bass, but they need to be hitting against something like in mine its my back hatch glass in a Blazer. They sound great and never bottom out or sound distorted. I paid $650 for the speakers and amp together----for that money there is no better system made, i only have 400 watts pushing them and they pound, my roof on my blazer literally jumps up and down, the side and back panels of my car vibrate alot too. I'm extremely happy with my system and i would recommend all JL subwoofers for any car and any body. Dont listen to the ratings - THESE SUBS POUND A WHOLE LOT !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had two 12" W0s for about three years now and they have given me good service for all three and man I have put them through the ringer and they are still pounding away. I also put about 500watts to them from an ESX Quantum series amp. :) I say the 125wrms is alittle under rated. HEHEHE

Weakness:

ummm well i know the accuracy and sq could be better, it does hit hard but overall it's sound could be clearer but what do you expect from a 125 dollar sub????

OVerall these subz are bottomline good for the money. I have abused them for over three years and still have not busted them with over 3 times the rms power going to them. SO i would say if you are strapped for cash and need some loud bass get these bad boys they won't dissapoint but for the sq is where it really fall short. But that is it.

Only subz I have owned, but way better than those damn RF's and have showed up some people with more expensive subz.

these subs (2 JL audio 15'W0) can handle a whole lot of power. Im running them of my 1997 Rockford Fogate punch power 500! 150watts rms yeah right try 500watts and when the bassline hits these subs jump and they jump high. I ve been looking for a replacement for my JL audio 12'W6's and I've found it. but its not a replacement they just moved in! 12'+12'+15'+15'=hearing damage , JL for life

Weakness:

too much bass!!! ha ha
the miss out on some notes but my 2 JL 12'W6 fill those spaces.

great for $207 canadian each they pound in a small sealed box and can handle alot of power but I never exspected less from JL

Strength:

Louder than many more expensive subs!Very good subsonic response.

Weakness:

NONE.

I recommend this sub for every body who listen to rap music and what have a loud system but not paid a fortune. This sub is perfect for small to moderate power system and you can give him a lot more power than the recommend power range.(they are rated at 150w rms and i give im 230w rms and he didnt do distortion)

Strength:

THE BASS HIT EXTREMELY HARD.I CRAVE LOTS OF BASS, AND THESE SPEAKERS DID THE TRICK.

Weakness:

THEY BOTTOM OUT ON CERTAIN BASS NOTES.

THOSE WO'S HIT LIKE HELL. I COULD NEVER KEEP MY REARVIEW MIRROR STRAIGHT. IT HAD EVERYTHING IN MY CAR SHAKING. MY FRIENDS USE TO TELL ME THEY COULD ME ABOUT 2 OR 3 BLOCKS AWAY. I USE TO SHAKE MY GRANDMA'S WINDOWS WHEN I DROVE UP IN HER DRIVEWAY. I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE BADBOY'S TO EVERYONE WITH ENOUGH TRUNK SPACE TO MOVE THE MASSIVE AMOUNT AIR THE PRODUCE.

Strength:

It says JL. Its fairly cheap

Weakness:

It sounds fairly cheap, The bass it gives you is loud but sloppy.

Paid 79 buck at tweeter ok sub I guess, not much definition. may be better than other sub $100.00 subs. I would strongly recomend saving your pennies a little longer and buying the next step up the W3 dual voice coil. I bought the dual 6-ohm and it towers above the W0 even at lower power.
For $60 more there is no comparison. JL makes good subs But........ The cheaper subs sound that way. This review is for the W0 8 inch.

Strength:

Price, very efficient - does not need much power, small box requirements, sounds better than most subs at this price point.

Weakness:

Does not play very deep, not quite as accurate as I would like, But considering the price....

I have 3 10W0s in the factory (sealed) power wedge box in my wife's Bronco. They are getting a total of 300 watts and sound excellant considering that I paid $350.00 for the box with the subs in it. These are probably the best entry-level subs out there. Great sound, very good spl and modest power requirements. They seem to do well on Rock, Rap, Hip-Hop and Alternative. Classical and Jazz recordings will show the W0s weaknesses: accuracy and the ability to play deep bass notes. I would recommend these for anyone just starting out or who is on a budget.

Strength:

loud and doesnt need a lot of power

Weakness:

sloppy and has hardly any existent low frequency roll off. just punches hard

I like them. for low power-low budget setups they are the bomb. If you gots the money, go for something else. JLs w3s pound.

Similar Products Used:

kicker comp VRs eat them up. they need a bit more power and a bigger box on the other hand and are more pricey, but still cheap for a sub
