I have two of these in a vented subzone box with a kenwood (KAC-X810D) mono 1600 watt amp. Two words: IT BEATS

dumb people who dont know how to install.

The oly way these are not loud enough for you is if your install is bad or non quality amps and boxs. I have 2 L7 in a sealed fiberglass box. I have 2 zr1000 amps 1 for each and they still want more power. Kicker tweeked out my amps to give me an 1349 on 1 & 1389 on the other amp. before tunning i hit 162.3 db's. iv never spl them after tuning them. I dont do any shows i just like good sounds. I play all kinds of music but techno hit @ucken hard as hell. I love these speakers. I already order my 18in solox cant wait for that monster.

Take tons of power. Decent SQ. Decent SPL.

The biggest weakness of the L7's is how hyped up they are. It's not really the subs fault. They need lots of airspace to get a lot of sound out of them.

I bought two of these subs for 200 dollars each on eBay. I don't think these subs are all they're hyped up to be. They were decent subs, but I was very disappointed when I finally got my system together. They just weren't as loud as they're made out to be. I had dual 4 ohm models in a sealed box, 1.4 cu. ft. per side. I was running them with 2 mtx 81000d's. My setup included a 160 amp alternator and a battery for each amp. I didn't think they were as loud as they should have been; maybe it's because I put them in a sealed box. I've heard vented boxes make a huge difference on these drivers. One positive thing i can say about these subs is the power handling of 1500 watts is very conservative. My amps benched 1223 and 1258 watts on 12.5 power supplies; they would easily do 1700 watts each with 14.4 volts. With my system up, I checked the voltage at the rear batteries, it was around 13.8. I pounded the hell out of these subs and they stood up to it for longer than one would expect considering their rms power handling of 750 watts. I did, however, eventually blow both subs. My former system consisted of 3 Infinity Perfect 12s running off a Memphis 1000d. The subs were single four ohm models; therefore, the theoretical impedance on the amp was 1.33 ohms. That amp makes it's peak power of 1100 watts @ 1 ohm. The subs were in a sealed box, with the minimum amount of airspace Infinity recommends (1.0 cu. ft.) My friends and I all agree that the Kickers were barely louder than the Infinities. Even when i was running 2 Perfects there still wasn't a big difference. The sound quality out of these subs was pretty good; it was actually better than I expected. Overall, I would say these subs were worth the money I paid for them; probably more.

Totally is a hard knocker. Sometimes I think it's way too loud. Lacks nothing at all. It's got superb SQ not to mention the SPL on this monster is massive. You must have this sub. I got a dual 2 ohm hooked up in paralell to 1 ohm off a 600.1 jbl. It still doesn't get enough power.

Super low low bass out of vented boxes. Throw them some power and theyll throw you some bass. Can take alot of abuse and keep on kicking. (Hint the name).

Bought 1 Kicker 12L7 to see what all the fuss was about, ran it off an old mtx 2150 and it blew my mind. It hit harder than my 2 JL 15W0's. Need to say I bought 1 more and put them in a vented box and thats all she wrote. Ran an MTX8100d to them with a stinger battery for a little more juice. My first competition I entered hit a 147.7 and took 2nd place for my class. Now beat that from 2 12's. Now Im the talk of the town!

they dont hit hard at all. My grandma pounds harder and louder than these.

Hell no these things are pu$$y they cant handle my huge rockford 250a2 they wouldnt even rattle my trunk. They are ugly and they take up too much of my trunk, god i think my components hit harder.

OMG...these are the most amazing subs I have ever heard! I am running 2 of these woofers off of 1-MTX81000d and these woofers do more than just pound, they break winsheilds! The sound quality is great and they POUND... When you roll up anywhere, heads will turn and jaws will drop no matter what u have them in. Car alarms will be set off from 50-100feet away and u'll probably lose some of your hearing. So if all of this sounds good to you...don't hesitate buying them, it will be the best purchase u will ever make. Great sound quality, bone rattling bass, good looks andgreat value is what Kicker has delivered to the public for many years and continue to do so with these subs. O yeah, remeber to dynamat before install or you'll make the same mistake I made and blow out 3 winsheild before doing so.4 SPL or SQ, these subs are amazing.

Hit extreeeeeeeeemely low and hard. Knocks the dust out of your vehicle. Can handle alot more watts than rated.

None than I can see

I have a Audiobahn2300HCX(2400rms) pushing 2-12L7s each in a 2.5cubic enclosure and they are literally breath-takers. Hit a 154.3 on the dash and without sound dampening. My homeboy says he can not only hear but feel the bass when,but he doesnt see me until about 3 to 4 minutes later.

I live on a small island and was the first person to have the 12L7s. Two years have passed and til now nowone can touch me when it comes to that deep bass. If i give someone a ride and they are drinking something and i am playnig some music with very deep bass they have probelms swallowing their drink, and they turn and tell me that i am going to be deef soon. I am running them with a 1000 watt Clarion in a ported box. The box is a design for one but because of space I put the two of them in one and i waas surprised with results.
