Strength:

Cheap, light, durable, they punch hard.

Weakness:

Low freq, mixed freq, low spl

I have 3 of these 10" suckers in my accord. For the money i paid you really can't beat it. I bought them used and the seals were going on the box but i fixed it up and they sound pretty good. They do distort at high volumes and if a song mixes low and higher bass frequences (even both under 120hz) they do distort. They sound great in my car around 70-80hz so my deck peaks the bass around there. They are loud and people say all the time how they can hear me coming but to me in the car they are loud, but the spl isn't that great so you don't really feal it. When they hit the right freq it can shake the sh*t out of the car but other times they might sound almost mute. Great subs still for the money and size. IF you don't care about spl then i'd recommend. I want something you can feel down the block instead of just hear so i'm prob gonna switch to something bigger, but also much more expensive :-/ BTW they're hooked up to a 2 channel MTX, the 8302

Strength:

It was somewhat loud considering i only have one twelve with a 300watt amp, looks neat, pretty cheap, i got mine for 100 bucks at some small car stereo place plus 80 bucks for a single 12 bandpass box

Weakness:

Not very good sq, bass comes out sloppy sounding, kind of distorted at high volume

i would recomend it to anyone who wants cheap bass but not for someone who demands a high quality product. like for me, id much rather have cerwin vegas or infinity but the mtx was cheap and i got a deal so i bought it kind of on the spur of the moment. its ok i guess, but not great

Strength:

Solid, clean, accurate bass

Weakness:

not really for "bassheads", but definatly for audiophiles.

I have personaly run three of these subs off of an MTX 2300 (about 850 watts RMS) in my 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse and they sounded increadable. The bass is tight and clean, and the accuracy is amazing. I sold the subs and amp to a friend of mine that works at an extreemly upscale home audio shop (were talkin Martin Logan here) and he put them in his 99 Acura TL. He told me that he got the same results. If your lookin to be the loudest guy (or girl) on your block, even they do put out enough SPL to cause pain, go with somthin else. If you want to be the best sounding, look no further. These subs were bought new and have lasted about three years under extreem heat and are as good as new.

Strength:

this sub in a sealed box requires very little space at .78 cubic feet. the sub is vary loud on its own and emarasis the top end serwin vagas, sony's subs, and the pioneer's. only pounding one, i turn heads from half a km away. as well it has a killer DVC thats adjustable from an 8ohm load to a 4ohm load. i'v found the sub when power corectly can gladdly take more than the 400 rms with out distorting, it's on the amp i'm using now that distorts the signal when pounding (boss 800w 1999 amp)

Weakness:

the ported box i'm curently working dwarfs the sub a 3.9 cubic feet. my only discrepansy is that this sub moves so much air it causes port distortion due to the air flow cloging the ports, even thought the box was buil to spesific specs gicen from a box design program. though i belive this isn't so much a down side but an example of what this sub can do. as well it is not recomended to run theis sub on a low grade amp. i've found that the rockford 500squaared works better than the the 99 800w boss amp i'm powering it with now. (go figure)

the best buy for your money and you won't be disapointed, long lasting with a short brake in period of 8 - 12 hours. needs a quality amp. and will draw power till your headlights dim (no joke even with the one). recoment a sceled box (.78cb'). i'm putting out a heavy 130 db with it.

if you like'm loud and you can only fit or aford one this is the babby you should get. but if your filthy rich i recoment the eclips 12" with the spun aluminum cone. rated for 1000w rms, but i have withnesed it handle 3000w rms and not distort (it wanted more) it was nuts.

Strength:

Low distortion, long throw due to huge surround, spl, intensity of hits, small box sub

Weakness:

i don't like how this sub really can't handle very punchy hits

I have the mtx2400x amp. It has a high distortion rating of .1 but even that still doesn't affect this sub, very loud hits, have bass turned up on my head unit, sony esmobile to 1notch on dbass plus 6db on my amp, everyone who rides in my car becomes an mtx lover, super clean bass, very loud bass, rock solid bass

Strength:

Inexpensive.

Weakness:

Garbage speakers. The dust cover got dented in, and never really came back out (although the have fixed this in the newer versions.) One of the pair had horrible suspension and would over extend and distort heavily with only 100 watts applied.

Cheap speakers - if all you want is a little boom, then maybe they are ok. Otherwise spend a few extra bucks to get something that will last.

Strength:

Incredibly accurate, even when turned up loud. Delicious deep bass. Fat surround.

Weakness:

What dont i like about it? I dont have more of them:)

Picked this up for really cheap, used. I am only running 1 10", and giving it 150rms. This sub literally moves my wiperblades, and with only 1 10! I had it in a sealed box originally and i thought it was nice, then i put it in a ported....and all hell broke loose :) hehe. This is definately one fine woofer, the surround on this thing is huge, im guessing it could never tear because of too much use. Pick up this mtx, its so so hot:))

Strength:

1000 Watts!!! Only I have not been ale to put this much on it yet.

Weakness:

needs lots of power (not that thats a weakness more like the more the better)

I got my MTX Blue Thunder Xtreme 10" for christmas (thank god for wonderful girlfriends). It came from Crutchfield along with a sealed Q-logic truck box all for only 219.99 + shipping. At first I only had a Jensen 300W Mosfet amp bridged to my sub but then I took my brothers 400W (200W RMS) Memace amp that came with his two Fasgate XLCs. With the 300 it hit good and was pretty loud but with the 400W Menace it thumps so hard I am going to be deaf in a short period of time. Now as soon as I can afford one of the Profile 450W RMS amps out of Crutchfield I will have to go incvest in a good set of ear plugs. For one 10" sub with only half power I am extremely impressed with hwo much it will hurt your ears (especially the really low stuff). I guess the saying is true you get what you pay for and the price shows what your getting. One high tech bad-a@# sub that really, really rocks. now if I could only aford a Blue Thunder amp I would be in business.
