Strength:

They really take a beating and hit really hard

Weakness:

That I don't have room for a couple more, and it is hard to breathe with the windows up.

I have two MTX 250D amps ,one to each sub, bridged in an MTX sealed box and I've gotten more performance out them than any setup I've seen at a comparable price.I wasted a guy at my old school who was running two rockford fosgates 12's pushed by a 2500 watt PPI when I was still using my stock deck and a line out converter.Talk about bang for your buck.

Strength:

OH MY GOD THESE THINGS POUND, They are tough and durable the rubber surrond on these is very strong and not likely to ever weaken TOO much, put one if these subs in your car and you're going to turn some heads everywhere you cruise trust me.

Weakness:

nothing at all

I got my setup which consists of 2 12's and an MTX 152 amp, While the guy next to me got a larger sony amp with 2 12 inch sony explodes, The sound comparison is not even closes it sounds as if when the really HARD HITTING notes come out his system struggles, But in mine it goes off easily. The guys at circuit city had some fun with my setup one guy through in a bass CD and it seemed like everyone in the store had turned there head like WHAT THE HE** was that....they forgot to close the sound proof doors LOL. but anyways if you wants STRONG DEEP BASS the 6000's are the way to go.

Strength:

Very strong bass, doesn't need that much power.

Weakness:

None so far

This is on the MTX 152, rated at a so called 37.5 watts by 2 lol but its not, duuuh. By the way, its the MTX 6158, I have two 15's and man do they kill in bass. They don't even seem to move but you still feel it. I had to put the bass down, person in the back might have back problems. These subs are great. Paid 149.99 a piece at Circuit City, Crutchfield has them for 159.99 but they don't have 8 ohm. They are really great, I haven't even cranked them up yet :)

Strength:

Hits hard, dosent need alot of power compared to other subs I've tried seems durable mtx give alot of info for box sizes and the performance with different boxes first class.

Weakness:

Not as refined in sound quality as jl 10w3d2

great sub best for the money highly recomended it.I'm an old fart(38)and more of a sound quality guy but I still like punchy bass. This sub has it the best compromise between hit and quality of the subs I've tried.(jl10w0,10w3,10w6,polkdx,bostonpro10.5)Simply blows away most of the competition in the same price category.

the mtx puts out the most sound. the 10w3 could possibly sound better with more watts than the over rated alpine power I have.(mrv-1002)

Strength:

they don't beat, they POUND!
-great sound
-they go low
-they are not very expensive
-they can be played loud!

Weakness:

they look to tight to be in my trunk

i paid 110 each from www.tms-electronics.com. each sub is in a 1.5 cubic foot sealed enclosure, and both subs are powered by a single crunch 1200 watt amp. i think this is the best setup i have heard for under $1000. the only draw back to these subs is that they need some power to really reach their full potential. but if the proper wattage is supplied these subs are capable of kidney masaging bass, i would recomend these subs to anyone!

Strength:

1. They pound like crazy.
2. Handles lots of wattage and can play in small boxes.
3. Durable - plastic fantastic!

Weakness:

Me, I'v lost most of my hearing through these subs.

I use to have the 8" MTX Terminators in a sealed box running 75RMS. They were good but I craved for more. So I bought a 12" Thunder 6000 and put it into a sealed box running 200RMS. This thing is amazing! Turn it up and put it down; this will literally pound your car apart! Use it to set off car alarms, use it to give you a relaxing back rub - heck! Use it to disturb the peace!

Strength:

A Very Tough Durable Sub, With Very Sturdy Surrounds. Produces Semi-Loud Bass For Its Power Handling. Very Musical. Hits The Low Notes Very Accurate With Very Little Distortion.

Weakness:

Not A Very "Punchy" Sub.

I Recently Ran Two 12" 6000 Series MTX Subs, Dual Enclosed, In My Full Size Bronco. The Subs Were Pushed By A JBL Powervalve Series Mono Block Class D Amp, Running 300x1 At 2 ohms. The Two Subs Were Very Musical And Hit Hard, But Lacked The Punch On The Hard Bass Notes "for instance, kick drums ect...." ! I Would Recommend The 6000 Series To Anyone Looking For The Next Step Up Bass In There System, Not So Much Competition Level Loudness And Sound But Good Overall Sound For The Money. If Your Looking For Earth Shattering Bass, These Are Not The Subs For You, But If Your Looking For Semi-Loud Bass And Good Bass Reproduction, I Would Recommend Them To You. Though I Paid 69.99 Each For The Pair I Bought Through My Employee Discount At Circuit City, At $140.00 Each, Retail, There Aren't Too Many Other Subs Out There For The Money That Sound Like The MTX 6000 Series. Of Course There Is Alot Better Out There, But Not For The Money.

Strength:

They sound good, and hit hard. The worst part of this is that I'm not pushing them that much but they give me all the BOOM I would ever want.

Weakness:

Why did MTX make the cone look so pretty??? ... It's in my trunk so no one sees 'em anyway. Oh well, thats not really a weakness, its just the only thing I don't like about them.

Ok. For the price I paid for these two 12" MTX 6000's and an amp was very reasonable. At $356, they left my bank account pretty full (keyword: pretty, hehe). I didn't have to pay for a box because I have a friend that was trying to get rid of their box anyway (thankya Rue!). He even helped me hook and bridge them up. In my opinion, I have the best system in school ... but everybody who has speakers thinks that! I've had to prove a couple of them wrong with the pounding bass supplied by these 2 subs. I was happy to drown their systems out!! It was all me! Oh yeah back to the review, I think subs are great for anyone who loves deep bass and a great value!

Strength:

looked good, the 10" sounded sweet at circuit city...

Weakness:

i blew the dang speaker in one day!!! it sounded sweet until it became a fire hazard(aka the evil smoke machine). It cooked!! too much power will kill these speakers, let me tell you, i had one sony xplode amp hooked up that puts out 580 peak watts and it is too much for this cute little speaker to handle in a professionally built bandpass box.

might be a good speaker if it lasts more than a day...
maybe power was on high side, stay under 400watts or else...
good luck suckas...

Strength:

Quite loud and very clean sounding and have a real cool look to them. Also very nice for someone with limited space. You can put them in a sealed enclosure as small as .50 cu. ft. or as big as 1.00 cu. ft.

Weakness:

N/A

I paid about $80.00 a sub. Crutchfield has them for $120.00, but if you do a little surfin' on the net you'll find them cheaper than Crutchfield. Highly recomend these subs for anyone who wants to upgrade their system, but don't want to clean out their bank account.

None. I have heard Kenwoods Excelon series and Kickers Solo Barics. I would have to say for a low priced sub it sounds almost as good as if not the same as Kicker and Kenwood's top end subs.
