crazy loud bass! looks good too..local shop made the box with the mtx inlayed carpet looks one of them profesional jobs..
Weakness:
none, using a power acoustic 1100 watts mono to it and it has not burped or made any smoke like some other users have encountered. One word describes this sub...BOOM! I also have an 18 audiobahn ultra excursion ...as much as I realy hate to say this...The 15 is louder than the aw1805x..the 18 gets a little lower in the sound q is better..but for a bass head rap listening to honkie...this is the way to go Similar Products Used: audiobahn,HIfonics, cerwin vega, fosgate, they dont compare have owned them all and the only subs ive heard that got this loud are those..orion hcca's..but they are tooo expensive |

Strength:
work well in any enclosure, nice function and looks
Weakness:
while sound quality is not affected, i did notice slight stress lines in the clear finish of the cone, but they were almost unnoticeable and haven't gotten any worse at all, probably just breaking in. Awesome Subs, everyone should give these puppies a listen.I love the polk DB series subs but unfourtionatly those tanks arent being made anymore, so i picked me up three 6000 10s (12ohm voice coils) and ran them in paralelle (4 ohms for those of you who cant do the math), bridged them off of my ppi (600w rms) and these things pound my vehicle. I've ran the "Bass Mekanic 5.0" tracks 18, 19 through these things and not even a 20hz signal can affect them. I think it's suprising that such an econimical driver can out perform almost any 12's ive put 'em up against. Similar Products Used: polk db,kenwoods, momo's, 4000 series, basooka, boston compeditors, mtx terminators, you name it, ive tried it. |

mtx 6000 8ohm 12"
Strength:
smooth deep loud sound
Weakness:
distorst if not enough power is put in. sounds great if you put 150-250 rms. I bought these two subs looking for a loud deep system. In my 1992 honda accord i currently have an alpine cd player, pioneer 6x9 pioneer 6 1/2, pioneer tweeters, rockford fosgate amplifier, pioneer amplifier, optimus crossover, and now 2 12" mtx 6000 subwoofers. my trunk feels like its about to blow away with the power they produce. Im runing 200 watts rms with the crossover set at 60hz and a bass boost of 12db at 45hz. you can hear my car from blocks away. you can hear lound, smooth deep bass. I would recomend these to anyone. Similar Products Used: fosgate xlc, jl, mtx by far the best looking and best quality |

Strength:
Produces good bass with all types of songs
Weakness:
NONE I have a concept C504 amp that puts out 35 x 2 to the front and 75 to the rear. I have the 35 watts going to two 5x7 door speakers and the CD player sending about 17 or 18 watts to the rear 5x7's. The rear channel of my amp is actually bridged so it puts out 250 watts into one 4 ohm load. I bought 2 8 ohm mtx subs so instead of having two 4 ohms that would only get 75 watts, I have two subs that are 8 ohm (which create a 4 ohm load) and they get 125 watts each. And my system is WHOA! I don't even use the bass boost and you can hear me a block away. MTX subs are some of the best. And Concept (www.conceptconcept.com) makes great amps. Mine doesn't overheat or anything. Similar Products Used: Kenwood and Orion, neither are as good as these. The Orion is actually pretty good and is better than the Kenwood. |

MTX 6000 12"
Strength:
LOUD as ****, can be heard a mile away (almost litterally), When you put the recommended power amount to them they still sound just as clear as day.
Weakness:
the headache you experience after listening to them if that counts. AHHH CRAP, That's usually the first thing to come out of my mouth when I get out of my car, And it's all because of the subs I have in my trunk. These things are freaking LOUD. I have two 12's hooked up to a PPI 2360 amp and my car ROARS, People usually look at my like I'm insane because of how loud my cars bass is. If you want some subs that sound like a 12 gauge went off.....get these subs Im sure you won't be disappointed. Similar Products Used: my friend has some rockford fosgate DVC's they slightly compare the MTX's are louder. he also had a pair of Jensens......I always tried not to laugh at those subs when I heard them. |

thanks for the info
Strength:
good materials. strong cone. GREAT distance bass
Weakness:
none, if it suits your desired amount of power. if you are dishing out 250 watts RMS to one of these that is rated 250 watts RMS, it will pop, snap, bounce to hard...etc. all of the mtx subs do this. thank you all for the info on these subs. i am planning ahead for what i plan to put in my ride. i'm tossing ideas back and forth......i heard these subs ( 2 12's ) in p.c. richards with 200watts RMS flowing to each one. i don't know maybe its just me.....i sat in front of them while they were taking all of the power they could, and i didn't bat an eyelash. on the other hand....my friend left the demo room, and then the store cause he said the bass felt like it was removing the fillings from his teeth. (lol) they are WONDERFUL if you don't want to spend a ton of money, but want to turn a few heads (notice i said a "few" heads). i'm not going deaf, but hey.....bass just doesn't bother some of us i guess! another one of my buddies has an 800watt RMS rockford amp going to 2 rockford 10's and he turned his deck that goes to 35 up to 28, and it shook the rear-view mirror pretty nice. it was decently loud....but i expected more from 800 watts. i was in front of kohl's (in a shopping center) today, and this guy in an explorer pulls in and sits in front of the stores, about 250-300 feet away. let's just say that my hatch was ratting a little, and i was getting a little bit of a back massage. i didn't find out what he had, but it was as if it was coming from my car. i am planning on running a bunch of lower powered subs (such as these), or (more likely), 3 vega 15's, rockford 12's, or audio-bahn 12's. i am already getting my jbl amp that pushes 1200 watts rms. we'll see how that goes.....oh yeah! why did you want to know all of this? i'm sorry,...oh well! Similar Products Used: kenwood's are about as good. they hit a litle lower and harder that these, but don't handle as much power. (DON'T BUY JL AUDIO SUBS, I DON"T CARE WHAT ANYONE TELLS YOU, THEY ARE HORRIBLE. I HAVE HEARD ALMOST EVERY LOUDER MODEL OF THEIR SUBS, AND THEY ARE AWFUL. I'VE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THE HORRIBLE SOUND THEY PUT OUT. my friend (not knowing which subs to buy) bought 2 10" w3's and all i have to say is that ONE of these mtx's will eat 3 of the jl's for lunch, and then throw them up, because they are so bad) p.s. thanks for listening to all of this. |

Strength:
LOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!
Weakness:
Might be too loud. I would only recommend 4 15's to someone who wants to compete. I'm probably going to take 2 of em' out so I can enjoy the music a little better. I have a custom built wall with 4 8 ohm 15's. The amps are in the trunk and for the subs I have 2 concept amps and each of them play 2 of the 15's. Similar Products Used: 2 mtx 12" - The 15's play a little louder and way deeper |
