Strength:
Very hogh volume bass with very low distortion
Weakness:
I think I have no hearing in my left ear I paid $375 for the pair. I added a Thunder 500D to my collection to bump these bad boys. I would recommeend them to anyone who is not afraid of monster bass or slight deffness. Similar Products Used: I have compared these bad boys with Thunder 6000's, Polk Audio db's, Rockford Fosgate Power DVC's, and Audiobahn 1200's. In my opinion none of them can even compare to the price and sound quality of these bad boys |

Strength:
These speakers handle the lowest bass with no distortion and the high bass easily these speakers can handle anything u throw at them meaning any size amp. The bass will explode your head.
Weakness:
Nothing its a great all around speaker and handles the bass exceptional. I purchased 2-12" mtx 8000s at 4 ohms and two unloaded sealed boxes and paid 519.00. At this price nothing can top them in quality and looks. Similar Products Used: Nothing so far can compare to its performance including the highly toughted solo barics. |

Strength:
They have great sound quality, nice boom, low bass.
Weakness:
They don't reach high bass that great and they aren't super loud. I expected more from MTX's highest line of sub. I've tried them in every type of box. I had Fosgate's lowest line of sub once and two of these sounded equivalent to 3 MTX 8000's. I'm not recommending Fosgate either. These subs sound great as far as quality is concerned and they can take a good amount of power, but they don't get super loud. They have nice deep boom for everyday driving, but when you get next to someone at a light and you want to pump them up, they can't get to the next level. I had two in small and large sealed boxes, bandpass, and ported and it is all the same. You can put them in just about any type of box and they will sound good, but don't expect to blow anyone away with them. Oh, I wasn't using some P.O.S. amp like a lot of you might be thinking at this point. I used an MA Audio HC4002, MTX 1000d, and a Boss AVAM6500. So from all ranges of power and quality, they still sound pretty much the same. I still like them, but I woundn't recommend them if you are like me and want to blow away the whole neighberhood unless you are going to buy 10 of them. Maybe when I get to be an old man will I not worry about SPL's. Similar Products Used: Fosgate Cheapos, Fosgate HX2, Pioneer, Premier, Audiobahn, 99' MTX Blue Thunder, PA Farenhiet. |

Strength:
huge bass, low distortion, great value
Weakness:
don't use small box my setup is one mtx 8000 10" and one jlw3 10", and it pounds. Largest system in school, easily beat my brother's setup, even when he has a clarion amp. my amp is a crunch 800 watt and it hits. would recommend this sub to anyone that has the need for huge bass. not putting down jl, but mtx is better for the money. Strength:
Quite accurate. Sound quality. Not overly expensive.
Weakness:
Stress marks after being pushed hard. When you bend plastic you will see a white mark where you bent it... this is happening to my subs - although I can't notice any sound quality difference. Dust cap is rummored to come apart from cone but haven't seen that yet. Like these subs alot. Put 2 12's in after having the 2 Eclipses' in the same box(1.25 cu.ft. each sub) with the same amp(MTX 500D) and the MTX are so much better. Some people will say that I wasn't giving the Eclipses' enough power but I think that 450WRMS to each sub should be sufficient to test their abilities. I'm not about hype and unfortunately I think the Eclipses' have gotten alot of it and people are looking past their real value compared to other subs like the 8000's. These subs mated to the MTX 500D is a killer combo - actually makes me want to get out of my car with some songs as opposed to the Eclipses' that sounded as good as my MTX4000s. heard about the dust cap and leads but have no seen a problem yet ive been using this sub for almost a year now and have not had a single problem with it. it does need power to get it moving though or it sounds like @#$!. ive got a single ten in a 95 eclipse thats also my demo car that i compete with the best ive gotten out of it was 138.2db but remeber thats one ten running off of a thunder302 amp. will be putting in another 10 in the near future running off of mtx's new 81000d sometime in june if they release it buy then should easly be in the 140s somewhere. also have a friend that has a 500d running two of the 12s he had the eclipse aluminum cones in his car spent a grand on them then put these in half the price of the eclipses and u get more spl and tightness i swear my ears are still wringing. overall trust circuit city or whoever u would get them from and buy them Similar Products Used: jl 12w6, ini kappa per.,eclipse aluminum cone and any other high powered sub |

These are really 13" subs which gives you more cone surface area which slams harder than conventional 12" subs. They really don't require a ton of power. Their magnet is huge. Just about everything so far.
Weakness:
None yet, but when I find any I'll let you know For the price these subs are incredible! I am running 2 12's off of a Phoenix Gold XS2300 300 watt amp and they fricken pound! However I will be getting a Coustic 600SE on friday so they'll hit twice as hard! I love these subs and when I finally get them into the final box I will compete with (sealed) and get the Coustic powered up I will make my final decision on how awesome these subs really are! Similar Products Used: 2 Audiovox 12's, 2 JL Audio 10W0's, 2 Pioneer IMPP 10's. None of these even compare to the 8000's |
