Rockford builds some of the worst sounding subs ever. Period. They do play reasonably loud, but I honestly doubt that a team of monkeys could achieve worseresults in terms of accuracy (except for the C-V stokers, which may actually sound worse). Anyone who would buy a rockford is either dead broke or simply unaware of whats out there. However, you now have the great opportunity to get them two for one and half off with a bunk q-logic box thrown in as well at your local Best Buy@%#@!^$^!! Don't have a local best buy? Try Crutchfield. Can you say sell out? Wayne Harris wants to take his company public - and rumor has it that the recently purchased lightning audio will release a line of loudspeakers on the LOW!! end of rockfords. How the hell bad are they going to be? Rumor further has it that many of the new punch models are imported from China, although that sounds a little fishy to me. |

I was the owner of a Fosgate Punch XLC 12 until a few months ago, when I replaced it with an Infinity Beta 12. Rockford subs are not very sensitive, so they sometimes require more power than they're worth. I gave the Infinity a listen and I couldn't believe the difference. The Fosgate was boomy and sloppy. The Beta 12 could go in a much smaller box, was more sensitive, and significantly cleaner. Still, the Fosgate did a decent job, at a decent price. They're not the worst subs in the world, and they look pretty cool, if you're into that sort of thing. It may impress your friends. Stick em in a sealed box, and if you're vaunted tastes aren't floating in the ethereal realms of Audiophileness, you'll be ok. If you're into a decent sysyem with adequate bass, and not wanting to break the bank, Fosgate makes some good low-end subs for the money. And good grief, will you audiophiles please let us lower life-forms enjoy our low-end systems without ripping us to shreds. We may not have your golden ears, but we can still enjoy good music. |

I have 2 10" Punch subs in a bandpass box on a USAcostics amp(which sucks). Then I replaced it with a Infinity Kappa 102a and they are good subs for cheapies. They are very boomy and loud but that is how I like it. I would of Put a 10" pioneer premier but I could not afford it. Those Premeir subs are the best. I would recommend these subs to people that want good bass for a fair price. |

I have two punch ten's in the rear of my classic '72 Blazer. There are approx. 220 watts going to each and they eat 'em up! The tone is really nice, though they don't slam on the very low notes(of course). There is quick response with little distortion at the highest of volume levels. I've put some serious abuse on them and they hold up great-lots of excursion. I've been running them for two years happily. |

Strength:
The subs have really good kick. They begin to distort at very high volume. This is most likely caused by the 400 watt max power.
Weakness:
They begin to distort at very high volume. This is most likely caused by the 400 watt max power. I'm running 3 of them in a sealed box, driving them with a Phoenix Gold amp, and you can hear me comin from blocks away. Great buy for someone who doesn't want to remortgage their house but still wants some crazy bass. Similar Products Used: These Rockies will run with the JBL's and PG's no problem. |

Strength:
build quality, look, price
Weakness:
power handling at high volumes, cheap n nasty cork gasket around the outside. On the whole not a bad sub, i have mine in a XJ cherokee and the boxy nature of the car helps the sub work well, but for a 400watt rated sub it distorts too easily at high volumes, and starts to pop, maybe my box is too small, or Im not driving enough amp juice to it, was suggested by a mate in the trade, dunno, it ahhhhrigh for now i guess. Strength:
There incredibly broad in use and can be effective in almost any type of enclosure.
Weakness:
The only weakness if any is the distortion at very high wattage. These speakers kick ass regardless of what you hear. I had them in my coup and dammmmn did they do some damage. I pushed them with a puch 200 and dude you wont belive it. Well,I ended up selling the car and now I have installed them in my f-150 in a sealed enclosure. My goodness these speakers can go for years. I think for the price I paid I got a f-en good deal. Similar Products Used: JBL..KICKER... |

Strength:
None, I've seen bigger magnets on refridgerators than on the rockford subs
Weakness:
Too many to list Rockford Fosgate ain't nothing, this is the cheapest stuff you could buy for your car, I got 2 12 inch Vegas in my impala with 2 Hyphonics amps with 250 watts going into each, plain out cerwin vegas are the best, throw out all that Rockford Fosgate crap. Similar Products Used: Plain out you could go to Best Buy and get to Rockford subs buy one get one free for $99 or you could pay $189 a sub for cerwin vegas, and plain in the long run and performance, you'll see whats better. |
