Apex N1 Series Cat back Exhaust Systems

Apex N1 Series Cat back Exhaust Systems

DESCRIPTION

The N-1 exhaust pipes aim for the straightest possible line with the least number of pipe bends. This allows exhaust gases to pass smoothly through the piping. The exhaust system canister is made of a rugged SUS 304 Stainless steel and features a 115 mm tail. The canister projects from the car at an angle which also contributes to smooth flowing exhaust. Because all of the exhausts are straight through design, throttle response and horsepower levels are improved. The N-1 Series Exhaust is available for the Neon, Civic, Prelude, Integra, RX-7, Eclipse, 240 SX, Impreza, Supra, MR-2 and Golf GTi.

Strength:

- VERY good construction
- the tone (deep with the silencer, w/o it's very raspy and EXTREMELY loud but I think it sounds good)
- got rid of the engine lag when you rev it
- noticeable HP increase
- has a nice, aggressive look
- I liked how it's angled up and outward, looks nice
- did I mention the sound?

Weakness:

- hangs a little low (but my car is also lowered 2.5")

I paid $550 for it plus $40 for the installation. It bolted right up even though everyone said it wouldn't fit a Civic sedan. I highly recommend it to someone looking for a good quality cat-back exhaust that provides a considerable increase in horsepower. If not for the power, I'd buy it for the sound alone. I love the raspiness it gets when the silencer is removed and I also love how loud it is. The muffler is stainless steel so it won't rust and the piping has a ceramic coating to also prevent rusting. It's not as good as stainless steel but it's better than aluminum piping. Just remember when buying the N1 though. . .it's EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY loud. Without the silencer it fails to pass the 95-decibel limit for an exhaust on a passenger car registered in CA. Who cares though? I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Tenzo R rear-section exhaust. . .can't compare to the A'PEXi. both have good construction but the A'PEXi tone is 10x better and since it's a full cat-back, there's more of a noticable increase in HP.

Strength:

The Apex-N1 is a loud exhaust with a very deep tone, unlike some that sound raspy. I like the design of the muffler because it's all stainless steel and really stands out. It also comes with a silencer which lowers the sound level by 7 decibels which will keep you from getting a headache on the freeway. Mid-range power is also felt with the installation of the silencer vice the high-range power without it installed. It also comes with all the hardware you will need to install it. In addition, it has a straight-through design which speeds up the exhaust gasses out thus increasing horsepower.

Weakness:

One of the biggest downfall of the N1 exhaust is that it hangs a little too low underneath the car. If your car is lowered, then you'd wish you had adjustable coilovers to raise it a bit. The reason why it hangs low is because of the "straight-through design" it possesses. If you're going to install the exhaust by yourself, make sure you wear protective glasses (as I have infection in my eyes right now from smut falling down) and lubricant to loosen the bolts to get the nuts and bolts off easier.

I paid $536 total for this exhaust including tax. It is the best exhaust that I've seen out in the market today. Trust/Greddy is dominating the import aftermarket exhaust right now but I think that Apex-i will soon follow shortly and possibly dominate because of it's great quality, low price, and its rising reputation.

I've had stock and it does make a big difference! If your car seems like it's dragging from the lack of "free flow" an aftermarket exhaust will fix that problem.

Strength:

The loudest of the exhaust and the high end power i get.

Weakness:

It took away my low end sort of and it's slower to start with.

I paid about 500 bucks for the exhaust but i do recommend a street performance by APEX if you want low end because N1 is all high. Slowed down my take off. But i love the noise of it. Its strong sounding and loud.

Strength:

I love the sound of the N1. It is a deep growl and will frighten away the average wannabe racer on the street. Its smooth bends and stainless steel quality give it the potential to be one of the best exaust systems. I felt power too as soon as I drove it on my car. My butt dyno registered at least 5 horsepower.

Weakness:

I loved the sound, but in time it became quite annoying. Its droning affect gave me a headache and I was forced to put on a silencer to keep the exaust quite and to keep the cops from giving me tickets. Also the muffler was not as great as I liked it to be. Just not shiny enough I suppose.

I paid $450 for this exaust. It was a good deal from what everyone was telling me so I bought it. The installation was easy but it took a very long time taking off the stock system. I had to use a dremel to get one of the nuts off the bolts. Also be aware that this is a LOUD exaust but performance was what I expected... Nice! However, its competition such as the Tanabe and Mugen also make great horsepower but do not offer the low price I got mine for. If you find a great deal, buy it, if not, go else where.

Similar Products Used:

Tanabe Racing Medallion is still the way to go in my opinion. Also the Mugen ones are not bad either. Both have these have great quality and you can tell by the workmanship in them. Also the tips are not as plain as the N1 and seem to be of better quality also. The Mugen one is quite to begin with until you unleashe the WOT for full power. The Tanabe comes with a silencer that does a great deal better then a silencer on the N1.

THE HORSEPOWER GAIN IN THE EXHAUST IS GREAT. THE LOOK IN AWSOME. THE EXHAUST TILTS TO THE LEFT TO GIVE IT THAT BAM SLAM LOOK. CHROME EXHAUST WHICH IS VERY ATTRACTIVE.

Weakness:

NO WEAKNESS.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS EXHAUST TO ALL THE IMPORT RACING FANS BECAUSE IT LOOKS GREAT AND HAS A GREAT LOUD SOUND. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE SOUND IT'S ONLY THE SOUND OF FURY. THOSE MUSTANGS SOUND LOUD AS HELL BUT YOU DON'T SEE NO COPS PULLING THEM OVER. DON'T BE SCARED OF BEING PULLED OVER, TELL THE JUDGE ABOUT THOSE DOMESTIC CARS THAT WASTE GAS AND ARE LOUD ENOUGH TO WAKE UP A ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS EXHAUST.

Strength:

Sounds very powerful when goin full throttle. I can feel the Horsepower about 3000 rpm on up. Quiet at idle which i like. Also its not even loud inside the car and i can still hear my radio just fine.

Weakness:

The pipes hangs a little low. If you have your car lowered u goin to get your pipes and muffler scraped. Even worst is when u driving over the speed bumps.

Well, some people said Apexi N1 is loud but its not even loud on my car. I decide to buy this system because i saw other peoples reviews that this system is very loud which i wanted this system for(LOUD). I guest its only Loud if u have the Apexi N1 on a honda or acura. You can get this Apexi N1 exhaust for a cheap price at www.rx7store.net $450 shipped, but the only thing is it is on back order and u have wait 2-3 weeks for it to ship to you. I bought my N1 at www.nopionline.com ($485 Shipped), because they have it in stock ready to be shipped and the exhaust got to me in just 3 days!!! Remember if u lowered your RX-7 at 2 inches u dont what this system on your car!!

Strength:

Build quality, tone, silencer included, Looks great

Weakness:

A little too loud without the silencer, hangs really low to the ground, even at stock ride height.

Another fine Apex product. HAd this exhaust for about 6 months now and couldnt be more pleased. The muffler section looks great. You can deffinitely see the differences between the Apex and those other cheap rip offs. My only complaint is that it hangs a little too low, even at the stock ride height. If you are going to purchase this system i suggest you put it on before you lower your car. With H&R sport springs I barely have a fist of clearance under the lowest part of the muffler. Other than that it's a great product. Overall high end has been improved significantly. 4th gear pulls much harder now.
