Strength:

Unbelievable sound, increase in hp (especially when used with headers), and reasonable price. Also easy to install.

Weakness:

none that i have come across thus far

This system is awsome. I also recently installed hedman super comp headers and along with those the sound makes my Olds makes is unbelievable. You can literally hear it from a mile away. In terms of horsepower the sytem has given me a boost of about 2o hp (along with the headers I gained about 50 hp). Now everyone is interested in what i'm running under the hood and they are afraid to race me!!!

MORE POWER!!! Great sound, looks good, fits great and install is easy.

Weakness:

none, this system is by far the best purchase i have made for my Camaro.

I bought this American Thunder system from Jeg's in May of 2002. I noticed about 15 more horsepower. Plus it just sounds great, everyone compliments me and asks where they can get it.

Strength:

It sounds ok

Weakness:

Not enough horsepower increase. All i got was about 12 hp increase on the dyno in the rear wheel, compared to a 26hp increase with borla!

For something that is supposed to sound good it does, a little high pitch for my taste but still sounds a little like thunder. I didnt see any real perfomance increases! So i switched to borla cat-back system and it kicks @$$!! The top end horsepower add made a big difference and the sound was really good, a deep throaty exhaust like a 1997 #0th Annv. Camaro should have. If its not loud enough switch to one of the open borla ringlets, it only takes a minute, but dont let the cops hear you!

Strength:

Good fit, easy install, great sound, dual outlet out rear (each side of the trailer hitch)

Weakness:

Pipes needed slight trimming on ends 2" or so. 2 years after install started noticing rust on pipes. on 3rd year both outlet pipes right after muffler blew out. I have since replaced with factory stainless system. Might buy another as a summer only system by the way I live in a heavy roadsalt area

Easy instalation, although a cat gasket is not available (had to use permatex cat gasket) Great sound, Probably not any noticeable increase in performance but you will run her harder since she is making more noise

HP/Torque increases

Weakness:

Sound

This product, I would have thought since it says American Thunder, would be louder than it is. I am really dissapointed in FlowMaster at this cat-back system for the Chevrolet Caprice/Impala SS. I think dual exhaust with some two-chambered mufflers would sound a lot better than this. EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED! Other than the sound, it preforms pretty well. The gas milage increased as well as HP and torque.

Strength:

Ease of installation. Quality construction, different from the typical Import performance muffler

Weakness:

Tip sits a little too close to the rear bumper for my liking, and it gets much hotter than the factory tip.

Excellent product. Nice sound, but not too loud. Added some power, and gas mileage has improved on the order of 3mpg or so. Looks good. A stealth product in that most folks assume Flowmaster is strictly for american Cars... NOt anymore.

Strength:

Excelltent quality, price, and performance. All around great choice for a Mustang.

Weakness:

Sound, but I kind of like it better like this.

This exhaust system is great, it adds power and overall performance is noticed. But this system is quiet, I mean really quiet, I expected something louder, more aggressive...but that''s ok, it still performs well and that''s what counts. I also replaced the headers and got a H-pipe when I put on the Flow''s, incase you were thinking I didn''t do that and that is why it might be so quiet. But when you hit the gas you can hear it.

Model Reviewed: 940 camaro z28

Strength:

Oh my god! This system is wicked. It is loud, deep and throaty sounding. One of the best tones I have ever heard on a camaro.

Weakness:

I wish it was A bit louder under wide open thottle. It is loudest around 2500 to 3000 rpm.

Don't buy this system, because I don't want anyone elses z28 to sound as bad-ass as mine does. I was very worried about interior resonance inside the car, but turns out that it' is not loud at all. There is a nice deep tone in the car durring acceleration, but not so loud that is will make spare change in the cup-holder vibrate. There is a nice loud deep qualitiy tone outside the car that will turn heads. I think I made a great choice with this system and would reccomend it. I had the stock flowmaster tips cut off and replaced them with 3' tripple chrome plated stainless steel tips. It looks incredible. I also have a wings west body kit, and slp cold air intake wich lowers the exhaust not a bit. Sounds mean, looks mean, and I love it.
