Strength:

It is not loud and has a nice deep low tone.

Weakness:

I think i lost horsepower but i have to press on the accelerator harder than before to accelerate.

This exhaust is awesome! It isnt loud like other mufflers that are cruising the strips. You can barely hear the exhaust at normal speeds, but when you crunch it, it roars a nice deep sound.

Strength:

High quality material and definate looks.

Weakness:

Be prepared to pay for such a quality product

This has been the best mod that I have added to my vehicle. The sound of the exhaust is unmatched by any other system out there. When you floor the throttle the soud is deep and refined. Its not loud and whiny like many other cheep exhaust systems out there. It allowed for smoother acceleration along with increased power in the upper power band (in my opinion atleast). I have nothing negative to report about this exhaust except those driving behind you will definately know you mean business.

Definately better than any other exhaust system out there.

Nice intonation. Very quiet @ idle, very loud when you floor it. VTEC helps w/ the volume =)

Weakness:

Not made for lowered vehicles. Be very careful if you are lowered w/ sp lots of battle scars w/ pavement =)

Good exhaust if you dont want to sound like a tin can going down the road. works vdry nicely w/ my 4-1 DC sports header, and AEM CAI. Overall very nice sound, very nice looks, kind of spendy.

Strength:

Overall a great system. The exhaust note is incredible and deep. I really don't think that there is another system out thier with this kind of sweet noise. The quality of the welds and overall system is very tight.

Weakness:

Way to ugly. Compared to the other systems out thier on the market the Greddy SP is way to plain looking. But I wanted the Greddy so that's what I got. Of course the price is way out of hand, but what do you expect for the best. Not all that much power increase, but that comes later with the intake and headers.

Overall I've been very happy with my purchase. The sound cannot be matched by any system bottom line. Compared to the Apexi and DC, I think the Greddy is a better buy. The Apexi creates a horrible noise and the DC can't seem to fit appropriatly on any car that I've seen.

Similar Products Used:

I have two friends who both own Acura's, ones got the DC cat and the other has the Apexi N1. The Apexi is much more beutiful looking than the Greedy but the noise is way to tin can annoying. The DC is a nice system sounds great to. However, if your trying to install the DC system yourself goodluck. You practically have to tear everything out underneath your car just to get that thing to fit correctly. The DC systems never seem to look they quite fit on any car.

this is a follow up for my review six months ago

this product is very nice high quality i recently took a trip to phoenix 2000 or so miles. for some reason the completely unrestricted exhaust system produced the same mpg average at 78 84 and 88 miles an hour 30 mpg across the board no matter what. i still can't believe it. high end highway driving the exhaust rocks pulls from 70 to 118(limited)really hard probably could hit 130 w/o the fuel cutoff pretty good for a car thats almost 10 years old.

Weakness:

city driving isn't very pleasant w/o torque. the engine was pretty torquey until i started messing with it. a dc header helped to restore some of the torque but i still notice it's absence down low.

if you set a car up right w/ all the performance upgrades you end up with more than just a rice burner you end up with an econo box. on average i get 60 miles per tank more than stock 380 vs 320 on average at 13 gallons. i have a aem cold air which i recommend everyone to wrap if you have an after market header the zirconia encrusted aluminum pipe soaks up alot of heat effectively defeating the purpose of having a cold air intake. a dc sports 4-2-1 ceramic header. and of course the infamous torque killing greddy street power catback exhaust system. If you run this setup you'll love the gas mileage, but miss the torque trust me. I've been working on a solution for those of you who want more torque. first get an aem cam gear advance 4 degrees timing, but you'll have to burn premium. if that doesn't work get a new cam with a smaller lda or lobe displacement angle what this does is decrease valve overlap which will in turn increase compression leading to more torque. i'll write back and tell you how this works out. oh yeah almost forgot the sound. Sound is the best i've heard out of all the aftermarket exhausts on the market right now. bassy as hell. gets louder after the addition of a header.

I really like the way the exhuast sounds when i am driving. when i first used it, it was a bit too loud. after the 3rd day of driving it, it is second nature. the sound is very deep and with a nice smooth flow. The exhuast fits nicely on my car

Weakness:

i don't like that you can't switch the tip. yes the tip is 4" but some other like it big and some like it small. The only problem is that is you wanted to switch the tip you can't

I paid a good price for it. yes i would recommend it to other for a deep thoat sound. i paid 450 for it, with all the other stuff, like tax, installtion and some other things, i am still happy with the price i paid.

Strength:

Build quality, appearance, dual exit tips, quiet

Weakness:

hefty price tag, minimal performance gains

In the small aftermarket for MR2s, this is by far the best exhaust aside from custom setups. It is absolutely beautiful. The tone is quieter than stock which can be good or bad depending on your preference. The gains aren't really noticeable, except at high RPMs where a slight pull is eveident on the tach. It pulls from 5k - 6k a lot faster than stock. Overall driveability is smoother, as if the engine is using less effort. Shop around before you buy. This thing is usually $550 at most places. I got this through a discount from a friend's shop. 4 stars because I'd buy it again (and actually have bought it twice).

Strength:

Deep, very deep and bassy sound you can feel it down your throat, once it breaks from idle rpm. However it is not annoying at all. The look is clean and it fits like stock. When engine is idling it looks like stock until the sound is unleashed. Complete installation is less than an hour (including jacking up/down the car and putting away the tools).

Weakness:

The ceramic coat in the piping can be easily scratched. I hope it won´t let rust settle in. No weakness in performance and sound. Quality in welding is top notch. A GReddy logo embossed in the tip would make it more attractive and distinctive. Expensive yet worth every penny of it.

GReddy all the way. If all their products are like the SP then GReddy have the edge. The sound is so addictive that it's a pleasure to press the pedal just to hear it growl. Not noissy at all even at WOT. Performance is perfect for the streets when matched with a DC header.

Similar Products Used:

I could compare with my former Arospeed universal muffler. Big difference in performance. The GReddy SP is non restrictive and show no loss in low end torque and great increase in the high end powerband. The sound in the SP is deeper and annoying high pitch notes are eliminated.

The fitting is good. Muffler mounts high like stock, so clearance is not a problem. Reduced 1/4 mile time by .25 sec.

Weakness:

It's a little too loud for me in city driving. The AEM cold air intake and DC Sports 4-1 header plus the cat-back really screams during acceleration. But freeway driving is acceptable and sound nice.

Paid $500.00 for it. The price is a little too high.

Strength:

Not too loud, looks clean, smooth acceleration.

Weakness:

TOO EXPENSIVE.

I think this product is way too expensive. Yes, it's a quality product, but I'd say a reasonable price should be around $400. This is a Greddy, so you're also paying for the name.

To fully take advantage of this exhaust, it's better to install an intake and/or a hi-flow cat. This is a "cat-back" system, so the piping after the catalytic converter is less restrictive. The cat itself is stock, so it's still restrictive. An after market hi-flow cat or y-pipe along with the exhaust system will produce greater gains.

Paid $550 total including installation. If you only buy the part, cheapest you can get is probably around $517. A good product overall.
