Strength:

Great drivability, quality, and price. Amazing sound, performance, and volume control. Never raspy or ricey.

Weakness:

Just came with one new gasket.

Before I purchased this exhaust system, I was running with just a flowmaster muffler. It provided decent sound, but lacked performance and droned excessively. I was forced to buy a new exhaust system because my stock exhaust piping rusted through. I immediatley decided that I would purchase a Magnaflow cat back because it was stainless steal and relatively cheap.

After I recieved the new exhaust I immediately noticed the quality of the exhasut. The hardest part of the installation was removing the rusty stock exhaust bolts. But after a few hours of hard labor I got it off. The installation of the Magnaflow was fast and easy, no adjustments were needed.

The sound of the exhaust is very mellow when cruising around casually, but get aggressive and the exhaust gets mean. It is hands down one of the nicest exhaust sounds I have ever heard on a 4 cylinder. I've heard dozens of diffrent exhausts, and none of them can match the sound of the exhaust. This exhaust stays smooth and deep, even at WOT. Many other 'cans' are just too loud, obnoxiuos, and raspy

The performance of the exhaust is great when paired up with an intake, headers, and Magnaflow cat. This car just drives so much better. There are reasonable gains throught the whole rpm range, with the largest gains from 5k and up. These are not just butt dyno estimates; I acutally tested speed diffrences from a stop to a certain distance. All speeds were improved, even the test were I kept the rpm below 3k. My brand new Mangaflow cat probably helped too.

If you are looking for an excellent exhaust at a resonable price, BUY THIS EXHAUST. I also recommend getting a new Magnaflow cataltic converter.

Strength:

The single 4" tip has grown on me, I don't miss the dual tips that the stock muffler had, sounds really nice, quiet rumble at idle and a deep low mellow sound cruising around town, can hear my cars shift points now, not that loud in the interior and you can actually carry on a conversation at a normal level. None of my neighbors have complained and have yet to set off anybodies car alarm, my Jeep with a Dynomax turbo muffler sets off car alarms a half a block away. Doesn't have the pounding resonance like Flowmasters or the obnoxious fart can ricer sound.

Weakness:

Had to modify to make work on my car, not much of a choice from any manufacturer for cat-backs except for a few of those ricer fart can types and Flowmaster makes a American Thunder rear section, could of had a muffler shop do a custom exhaust but I really enjoy doing my own modding to my car. May not be loud enough for some people.

I had Megan headers on my car already and I knew that that most exhaust sytems or mufflers don't add that much horsepower, maybe 3-5, they just add more noise and I leave for work early in the morning and I like to remain on speaking terms with my neighbors. My stock exhaust had a couple of pin hole leaks and my muffler was starting to show signs of rust, so I decided to get a stainless steel exhaust system and after readind all the reviews on this site I decided on Magnaflow, so I purchased 15686 cat-back that is made for a 1994-1997 Accord 4 cyl because it looked like close match for my car and has 2.25" diameter pipe like stock. Installation wasn't that bad, had to shorten the front section 6" and move the front hanger and add 2 1/2" to the rear section to make the tip flush with the bumper and heat up and bend the hanger hooks on the muffler. I have been a welder most of my life so it was no big deal to me, and my rear section is held place better than it was before, my stock exhaust was always slamming into my Suspension Techniques rear sway bar when I went around corners. Now to the review, I was worried that the small 14" resonator on this cat-back would make my V6 sound too loud or raspy, my fears were laid to rest when I first fired it up to back it out of the shop, nice low rumble at idle, not loud at all. In the first couple of weeks had kind of a deep resonance in the interior of the car under load around 2000-2500 rpm, but that has went away, I guess the packing material inside the mufflers breaks in over time? Criusing down the freeway at 80 mph is not really that much louder than stock and at wide open throttle it's not really louder than my cold air intake, kind of makes a deep kind of "whoosh" noise, hard to describe. I am really satisfied with Magnaflow and will definitely purchase again, my next purchase will be a Magnaflow high flow cat.

Strength:

It looks great. It was easy to install except for having to lower the muffler a little because it was hitting my bumper. Loud when you want it to be.

Weakness:

Its not loud enough for me. The pipe coming out of the headers is way to low. I hit the speed bumb in front of my school every day unless i go fast, so the car doesnt bounce.

It looks great on my car and the sound is OK.

Strength:

Quality built product. Stainless. Sturdy. Looks great.

Weakness:

Dual system won't work with a tow hitch without major modifications. Too loud inside the cab.

I recently had the dual exhaust Magnaflow exhaust system installed on my brand new 2005 Nissan Titan Crew Cab. The shop who ordered it in for me was only able to put on one (left) of the two post muffler pipes as the tow hitch was in the way of the other. The installation instructions note that this product may not work with vehicles fitted with a two hitch and recommend their single exhaust system… This would have been nice to know before ordering it in. Needless to say I had gotten the ‘tow package’ with my Titan for a purpose and wasn’t about to remove it. The shop recommended a muffler guy who they said could help me out. The next week after driving around with just one of the two pipes sticking out the back I ended up in the muffler shop. To get the second pipe to mount properly they had to cut off the bracket and reverse it with a new longer one so it fit around the tow hitch. They also had to saw off a few inches of the pipe so the tip would end up equilaterally placed with the other tip. This took an hour of cutting and welding but ended up as a very nice looking result. Cost me an extra $78 to fix this problem with the Magnaflow design though, and both shops claim it is an OEM fault. I think I have the only Titan in the world fitted with a factory installed tow hitch and the Magnaflow dual exhaust system combined though. Now on with the review… The biggest change and quite noticeable is the exhaust sound. It went to a very deep and throaty bass note. I would give it a 10 out of 10 in sound from the outside of the vehicle. On the inside though, it kind of grates on my nerves. The whole cab resonates that tone as if it were the inside of a subwoofer speaker box. At idle it is nice and tolerable and even pleasant, but as soon as you give it gas the bass note drown out everything in the cab. It lowers the quality of my nice Rockford Fosgate audio system, it forces you to compete when talking to someone else in the cab with you, and it even distracts you while driving at times. I find myself driving by sound instead of feel now which is hard to explain but not a good thing. As far as extra power and gas mileage, all I have to say is meh, as in I don’t really notice it that much. This is even after installing my AirRaid cold air intake and throttle spacer at the same time as my Magnaflow system. They all seem kind of gimmicky to me now. I think people are translating big sound into big power which are not necessarily related. It does look a lot nicer from the back end though. It gives my Titan that old school muscle look. The Poweraid throttle spacer is also just another noise maker to distract the driver and I haven’t seen any actual benefit from it. It whistles and makes air slurping sounds and even sounds like a turbocharger at times but again I think people translate the sounds into an increase in performance which to me is quite minimal if anything. The Airaid cold air intake looks nicer than the factory intake but at close examination, you can see it channels air from the exact same place the old one did. As far as an increase in air intake I can’t really tell. I’m considering having the shop weld a standard muffler in place of the Magnaflow muffler just to keep me sane on my 50 minute commutes every day. I’ll give it some time to see if I can adjust to the sound though. Any comments appreciated.

Strength:

sound is A+, Quality is exceptional!! For the price I expected it to actually look cheaper or dull. Looks very impressive/intimidating from the rear. I'm purchasing same magnaflow style for my wifes 03 Lancer.

Weakness:

I had to have it installed by a shop due to me living in an apartment. They told me the fit and finish was perfect. I had them weld an extra support due to people claiming it might swing/move. One of my tuner freinds say it looked too round/large like it might get dented going over a bump on slammed civic. I havent scraped it on a single thing yet and I go over killer speed bumps every day.

I've listen to many different brands (HKS, Greddy EVO & more) realized this was the best sounding for the buck! Nice and mellow not ricey at all. The Greddy Evo cat back system sounds great, almost too quiet but I couldn't come to pay $500+ specifically just for the name when this system looks & sounds perfect. Plus it was a steal at $300 shipped! I highly recommend it. E-mail the address from the purchased at (above) with make and model for a quote.

Stock on my car, but I've seen and heard (up close) many different brands even welded on with custom tubing. Closest competitor would be the Greddy Evo2 cat-back.

Strength:

Stainless Steel, Addition hp need I say more.

Weakness:

On mine and several other 7th gen' civics this system bangs against the rear sway bar when turning Right. Trust me you'll know it, when it happens. There are a couple of ways to get around it, though. Some peeps say to weld the system, others say to heat up the area and flatten the pipe some to give some more clearance in the area. I simply drilled a hole in the excess portion rear body panel(under the car, you can't tell anything) and threaded a zip tie through the hole and to the rubber hanger and pulled tight. This pulls the pipe away from the sway bar without melting the plastic zip tie. It seems to work for me.

Very easy install, provided you have ramps or something. Looks awesome, sounds awesome. Cost is awesome! I travel alot and the sound isn't over bearing like a Skunk2 (with out the silencer). This muffer system doesn't need a silencer.

Sounds great ... was worried about soudning like the traditional Viper with exhasut but this has a very deep truck tone. The muffler has an internal x-pipe and uses 3" pipe throughout the entire system. Good power ... 15 hp at the wheels is nothing to complain about

All STAINLESS STEEL, dual tips LOOK AWESOME, very EASY INSTALLATION and it SOUNDS GREAT!!!

Weakness:

NONE!

I installed the Magnaflow S.S. cat-back exhaust on my 2.0 Jetta. The hardest part was getting the stock exhaust off. It bolted on in about 45 minutes and fits perfectly. It looks and sounds nice and aggressive. When you step on it, it's got a very deep growl but when you are cruising it's almost as quiet as stock. There is a very noticable increase in power all through the RPM range. I would also recommend that you get a Magnaflow hi-flow converter with it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this system to any V-Dub owner.

Awesome sound, not to overpowering. Has a low DEEP rumble to it.

Weakness:

Very tight to get on but, worth the effort.

I was debating on weather to buy Flowmaster or Magnaflow for my 95 Camaro, my friend has the same car w/ flowmaster and it sounded good but had a tinny sound to it, so i decided to go w/ the Magnaflow. Well I have no regrets, it sounds way better than Flowmaster and people dont believe that my car is just a V6 by the sound of it.

straight through air flow design. awesome sound. excellent material craftsmanship.

Weakness:

it would have worked as is but i cut off the factory hangers and welded them to the cat-back for easier mounting. also on my 95 z-28 i the fit was so tight i had to tighten the u-bolts with the screws down instead of up. not really a big deal just an appearance thing.

if you are debating magnaflow vs. flowmaster stop. buy the magnaflow. this product sounds awesome. i pulled off the flowmaster and put on this one. it flows better, it sounds better, and it looks better. if a cop is next to me and i mildly step on the gas it purrs beuatifully. if i put it to the floor it roars to life and i mean roars. i drove it cross country and when i went through a tunnel and it sounded like a nascar. no joke. i would buy again in heartbeat.
