Strength:

Killer sound. I have a V6 without no intake and it sounds like a V8. People and everyone around me know I am coming. When I am idle, you can barly hear it. But when you press that gas, it will turn heads. I got two 40 series with 2.50 piping, low-end and high-end, it's geat.

Weakness:

Nothing

I would recommend this product to all Mustang drivers. Pay the money, it's worth it. You will get recognize, guarantee. You need great looking chrome tips to make the Flowmaster complete.

Strength:

GOOD MID-RANGE POWER, GOOD SOUND WHEN ACCELERATING

Weakness:

LOSS OF LOW END TORQUE, FROM LOSS OF BACKPRESSURE, COMPARING TO PREVIOUS TURBO MUFFLER, CAN INCREASE TIMING TO HELP IF NOT TOO MUCH SPARK-KNOCK.

INSIDE NOISE IS A BIT MUCH, BUT OVER ALL PERFORMANCE SOUND IS GOOD. FOR EVERYDAY DRIVING ON STOCK VEHICLE SOME CARS MAY LOSE SOME LOW-END TORQUE BECAUSE OF THE BETTER FLOWING MUFFLERS WITH NO BACK-PRESSURE. I MYSELF WANT PERFORMANCE FROM 0-55 MPH, NOT 55-100 MPH. I ALSO HAD A SMALLER STRAIGHT THROUGH DESIGN CONVERTER INSTALLED FOR LESS RESTRICTION, AND THIS MIGHT BE ADDING TO TOO MUCH OPEN FLOW. A LOT OF APPLICATIONS PROBABLY LEAVE THE STOCK CONVERTER ON WHICH LEAVES SOME BACK-PRESSURE PRESENT. I AM STILL UNDECIDED ABOUT LEAVING IT ON, ALTHOUGH I DO LIKE THE SOUND,I STILL MISS MY LOW END POWER. I HAVE 1 FLOWMASTER WITH DUAL OUTLETS. DOES ANYONE HAVE SOME GOOD SUGGESTIONS ON A MUFFLER WITH GOOD SOUND AND SOME BACKPRESSURE FOR STOCK APPLICATIONS?

Very stout sound, first installed behind rebuilt 305. Now behind a built '69 Vette 350

Weakness:

Can't go anywhere without somebody knowing you're there, hehe

Would only recommend for weekend driver. It can get a little loud after a few hours. Ran pipes from motor to cat then y-pipe to two flowmasters and turn down dumps in front of the rear axle. Very noticeable power increase over factory 230,000 mile single exhaust. Sets off car alarms easily and vibrates the windows in neighbors house, oops! Really startles people to hear this sound from this car! Absolutely love it.

my truck is equipped with full length headers and flowmaster 40's love the sound. The truck is not running a stock motor its a 1970 429 so it sounds awesome. Tried to start the motor without the coil wire on needles to say once we started it backfired like hell. waited 5 minutes even after 3 foot flames coming from my pipes the mufflers were still like the day i pulled them outta the box. I now swear by flowmasters.

Weakness:

maybe coulda come out with a 40 series with a header flange welded to the inlet.

i love them

I love the sound, I wish it was more hollow sounding and loader than it already is. I still will take the awsome sound I get now.I also get better gas milage too.I also like it when people behind and in front of me can hear the rumble and people turn there heads.

Weakness:

nothing at all

I payed $85 a peice and $200 to have them installed by a performance muffler store next to Level 10 Tranny store. I thought it was a little high but already payed so cant complain. I still think it was worth it anyway. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to make there car sound awsome.

Weakness:

The intereior sound levels get a bit to loud and annoying when you want to enjoy a simple cruise

I paid $135 for the pair plus another $80 to have them installed to some full lenght hedman hedders. These mufflers are great if you want your presence to be known but quite a bit to loud to be driven daily.

The best things are the sound of the muffler and the fact that is lasts a long time. The quality is perfect.

The weakness is NONE!!! Needs to be louder maybe?!?!

I only got them today so I don't have too much experience. They sound pretty heavy when I stomp it and at idle they sound good. I got dumps before the back axle. FORD RULES!!!

I will try a 30 series in my Cherokee, I want sound quality not quantity.
Additionally a friend installed 40's in his Tahoe and it's too loud in car also.

Strength:

Improved performance noticeably over economy turbo mufflers. Sounds better too.

Weakness:

A little pricey, but they do come with a lifetime guarantee.

Two installed cost me $200. I reccomend them. I have 21/4" duals on my car. I had been using Thrush Mini turbos most recently. They started to get really loud, particularly at idle. I had heard that flows would make my car louder, but, to the contrary, it actually is a little bit quieter. Now, as far as the performance improvements: first, my gas mileage improved from 10/11 to 13/14 mpg range. It may not sound like much, but that works out to about 30%! Not that other cars will show those type of numbers, but...

Performance wise. With the old turbo mufflers, flooring the throttle from a dead stop would produce a mild spin of the tires and the car would take off, very loudly, I might add. Now, if I drop the throttle from a dead stop, both rear tires spin easily until I either let off or let the tranny shift to 2nd gear. Again, this type of gain may not occur on other cars, but this is what happened on my car (stock 350 with stock exhaust manifolds, Edelbrock intake and Holley 600 carb). I estimate that my 350 gained somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 hp from the swap, and it is quieter and gets better gas mileage to boot!!
