Awesome sound, makes my 4.3 v6 sound like it has 300 horses.
At idle sounds like a 350, just a little quieter though.

I paid 80$ for some 2 1/2 inch pipe and muffler plus installation. SO WELL WORTH IT. I wouldnt trade anything for my Flowmaster. My old Afterburner muffler made my truck loud and kinda cool at idle but when i barely touched the gas it sounded like a tractor. The flowmaster solved my problem.

Best Sound of all mufflers Period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interior resonances get annoying at times, but when you have over 400 Hp what do you expect.

I love them except when I am trying to suprise a compeditor or when I am trying to talk to somebody inside. I have a Vortech Supercharged 92 Mustang 5.0l engine with a T-56 Tremrec. It pumps out over 400 horses and gets me down the track in 13.8 best times and 14.2 average. They may be a little agresive for the average driven vehicle. I highly recomind cheaking there web site before making a decision. They might not be the right ones for you. As far as price they where included in the whole engine swap price so I can't tell you the seperate price.

I paid about $400.00 for muffler,piping and tip w/installation and would highly recommend going the same way. The 3in. pipe really helps with towing also gives the truck a deeper tone.

**sniff** **sniff** the sound of the 40 series Flowmaster brings tears to my eyes everytime i listen to it..Sounds Beautiful on the 4.6 ... I took a chance when I chose the Flowmaster because I was not sure how it would Sound...SOUNDS GREAT!! GO GET 'EM!! now it sounds like a MUSTANG!!...:)

I'll tell you when I hear a better sounding Muffler or these fall off.. ;) Remember this is for the Mustang GT 4.6L i don't know how it sounds on other cars and trucks...

Flowmaster 40 series has my vote..if you want to make ur 4.6 Sound very low and sweet(is sweet a sound?) I do recommend this exhaust for your "little pony"

Stock....compared to stock...multiply idle by 6. at 1,000-2000 RPM it sounds soooo pretty..you can feel your butt tickle..:) but not THAT loud that you can't listen to the radio low...i promise...

It didn't sound louder than than the 80 series. It sounds a little deeper than 80 series when accelerating, at idle seemed a bit like stock.

$200. included a stainless steel 3" single tip.

Great sound when cruising, racing, or even at idle. Really turns heads wen I turn da corner. Feel as if I got my moneys worth!

Little too much back pressure, not enough flow and power.

I would recommend dis product to anyone who wants a "balsy" sound in and out of dea cars, but no expect too much on da power end. As far as price wise, $300 fo two 40 series mufflers, 2.25" stainless pipes, 3" chrome tips and da labor. Now, cannot go wrong eh.

Da Flowmaster 40 series are way louder than da Dynomax Ultraflo and dakine da Magnaflow mufflers but it again, does not have da flow and da power fo compete with dem.

Increase in gas mileage / more upper end power

with they would have made a catback system instead of a custom install.

When first installed, it seemed pretty quiet. I had a dynomax high flow cat installed at the same time. However, after about a few weeks, it started gettin louder. I believe it was the cat that started breakin in. Then after about a year, the muffler started breakin in. The car started havin more of a rumble, and sounded almost like a Stang at around 2300 RPM at cruising. This is a 3.1 L V6 with a 5speed! I was so surprised, even Stang / camaro owners gaave me thumbs up from teh sound...unfortunately , i am not able to keep up with them , but I still love the car. This car is very rare, it was FULLY loaded. Most of the z24's that year did not have everything. If anyone wants to hear the car, email me and I will send you a sound file proving that it sounds like a V8 at cruise, and a higi performance V6 at WOFT (wide open f****g throttle) =O)

if you want something that sounds the loudest you would get the 40 seires because its the best!! sometimes when you are talking to the person next to u, u would have to talk louder so she or he can hear you!!! by accerating people would turn head and just look!!! its tha best.. it cost me only 300 bones.. its aight!!! all you need for for it is the tip the more bigger the tip is the better it looks so you would like to get a wide tip!!! and ofcourse stainless steel!!!!!!!! welll thats about it!! g2g aight!! see yall!!!!!!!

These are the best mufflers for your money. If you have a big engine and want to show it off these mufflers are the ones for you. These are the most aggresive and powerfull sounding mufflers I have ever heard and I am very pleased with their performance.

If you don't like loud then don't get these ones.

I went from factory mufflers to some magnaflows that my friend gave me, and then I bought the 40 series by flowmaster and went to full dual exhaust and am extremely happy with their performance. I am getting a couple more horses and I'm getting better gas mileage to boot. So if you want a big sound from your car purchase the 40 series by flowmaster. I would only buy these mufflers if you have a V8 there isn't a reason to buy such a loud muffler for littler engines becaues it won't provide enough back pressure and flat out won't sound good.

Very loud and powerful sound, sounds even louder when your car scrapes a speed bump and puts a hole in it ;) It produced more horsepower by 15+ .If you have fussy neighbors, they might complain about it being to loud like mine did.
