Strength:
Killer sound, inexpensive horsepower
Weakness:
May be too loud for some peoples taste. I have been using the 40 series flowmaster for over two years now and have nothing but good things to say about it. My mustang had a nice mellow sound from the factory but thats not what I wanted. When your driving a muscle car you need to have a sound that grabs peoples attention and the flowmasters do exactly that. As far as performance goes, I noticed about a ten horsepower increase right away. If you are driving a car with a big engine and a small restrictive exaust, the flowmasters will be a very inexpensive way for you to free up some of those choked out horses. Strength:
Durability, lightweight, and good bass. Great price too.
Weakness:
Not as loud as I wanted. It sounded a little deeper than stock right when the Mechanic turned the key. Then he started hitting the gas. Wow, I was pretty impressed and the longer I drove the deeper the sound got. Honestly I have only had this muffler on for a couple of hours and I love it. I cant wait until it breaks in all the way. Power increase no doubt.. Good looking muffler, wont crack or rust!
Weakness:
Sound was not there, too raspy, especially for a V8 Ok I bought this product hearing it was the best low rumble sound you can get! Well it sounds great at idle and about up to 1500 rpm, but after that it resonates and sounds really really raspy. If you kick her down she spits out a beautiful racing tone, but i still think turbo packs are the way to go for a nice low rumble, the muffler did help powerwise though, i was really able to light up my 33's after installing this dual outlet muffler. It sounded better when i added 3.5 inch big bore tips, but i still wish i would have gone with a true dual exhaust with dynomax racing packs, they give the ballzy tone!! Similar Products Used: any turbo junk muffler, 29.99 thrush turbo, trust me these are not that good sounding |

Strength:
Great sound
Weakness:
none Great sound! Extreme noticible interior noise. Not very loud at idle, but definately louder than stock. This muffler made my stock pipes stick out just a little bit more than when I bought the car, which is cool. I rated this produst highly because all of the review lived up to my high expectations and it is EXACTLY WHAT I HOPED FOR! Similar Products Used: None |

383 Stroker
Strength:
Tone, power, tone, power. With a lumpy cam the lope of the camshaft at idle sounds incredible. Opens up very nice thru 2500- 3500 RPM. And at 7500 RPM my 383 sounds like it means business. Noticed torque and hp increase.
Weakness:
Girlfriend says car is too loud. I told her she will learn to like it. High quality construction. Un-equaled tone and performance. Recommend to anyone who loves performance and is looking to get a un bridled muscle car tone. I'm running a hi perf, 383 with headers and h pipe. Flowmaster 40's on each side. Similar Products Used: I have headers and before the Flowmaster 40's i had Dynomax Super Turbos. The turbos were not bad mufflers, but they can't hold a candle to the 'Master 40's. |
