Strength:

Low, throaty, sound. Better gas mileage.

Weakness:

Not loud enough, but alot louder than factory muffler.

The flowmaster 80 series gives you that flowmaster sound on a V-8. Its loud, but not loud enough for my liking. As for performance gain, it is little, but for the price overall its a good value.

Strength:

Has a low, deep, throaty rumble on idle, between the speeds of 25-45 M.P.H it sounds really good....it don''t have to give it alot of gas to get the flowmaster tone.

Weakness:

just wished it was a litte louder

The 80 series Flowmaster sound Fantastic on a 305 High Output Z28 Camaro. It''s worth the money and it sounds great!

I did use a "Rhino" muffler....sounded pretty close to a flowmaster on idle, but wasn''t as low or near as loud as the flowmaster

Strength:

Awesome sound.....Increased power and gas mileage

Weakness:

Headaches on longer trips (but hey I wanted loud right?)

Heres what to do.....For a v-6 firebird or camaro order part number 42583. (I did it from www.jegs.com 97 bucks and I had it the next day.) Take it to a good muffler shop and have them install it. Just make sure they knock the outlets down to 2". The car will sound so much better, almost as good as the 5.7. A little loud sometimes, but that's what I love about it. A real headturner!!

Strength:

nice tone, doesn't sound like a truck, like most aftermarket exhausts do, and it drops backpressure enough that an intake does something. necessary for any avid sports car driver.

Weakness:

very common sound. too affordable, everyone and their little sister sally can have one, makes a v-8 sound like the v-6. not loud enough outside the car.

if you drive a v-6 camaro or firebird, buy this exhaust, it pulls all the restriction away from your motor, if you drive a v-8 stick with the cat back or straight off the manifold exhaust system, of course it's more expensive, but you can see and feel the difference. this is a good muffler, but it does not provide a lot of performance gain, good for beginning car mods, and people on a limited budget.

Strength:

The Flowmasters are louder than I ever imagined. When you start the care you feel as if your at the Daytona 500. I have the Flows on a 400sb V8, it makes the car feel a-lot faster. I have to say the best quality is the sweet sound it gives when cruising down the street. There is nothing outthere on the market that sounds so unique and Loud.

Weakness:

The flows tend to give me a headache after 30 minutes of driving and pipe checking everyone other cars. The interior noise is loud especially when accelerating.

The best mufflers for American cars. You just have to have the BALLS to make all that noise. I chose the 40 series installed in a true dual fashion with two mufflers and piping from the headers back. If you can't take the noise get the 50 or 70 series which provide the same performance less the loudness.

None. The stock muffler was going bad. Like night and day.

Strength:

Flowmasters are the loudest I have ever experienced

Weakness:

Loud all the time! It gets annoying after a few hours on the road.

I agree with the review below- get a cherry bomb vortex muffler if you can find one. They don't make them anymore because of a court dispute with Flowmaster. The Vortex has a distinct growl at low RPM's, but is not obtrusive. At full throtte, the growl becomes a throaty song that is pure music to the ear. So, the vortex is loud when you want it to be- not all the time. Of course, this is on a V6 camaro, which I love by the way- your experience may be different. But you cannot go wrong with the flowmasters- they do sound really good and loud- but loud all the time, and not necessarily unique.

Strength:

It gives the car a deep throaty sound. Makes the car sound mean. Add a little Horsepower and helps the gas guzzling.

Weakness:

It isn't loud enough. I can hear it in the car a little bit. If you don't want to hear it, just drop a woofer in your car and turn it up.

I would recommend a Flowmaster it really defines the muscule car sound.
