Strength:

Pulls hard from 2000 to redline, makes heads turn, and has little effects of highway gas mileage

Weakness:

I'm a delivery driver and the stop and go city driving lowers gas mileage noticably

i bought the car for 5200 thinking it was a good deal then i realized that it was a steal. and probably the best purchase i've ever made. Highway driving and the every so once in a while raping of domestics is great. I'ld totally reccomend this to anyone over a turbo especially if you want your car to last

Strength:

Added hp and torque provided particularly in the low and midrange where it's most needed on Hondas.

Weakness:

Lack of tunability. Stick it on and be happy with what it gives.

Easily bumped up the power and speed of my Prelude and I loved it. Loved the much needed low and midrange power that it added which makes it a much easier daily driver around town. Honda motors typically need to be wound up for any decent go. the JRSC is a relative quick fix to that. I loved surprising other unsuspecting car owners.

The drive belt was tearin up my brake lines, which though were the installer's error for not bending the lines as was instructed. The engine torqued back and forth so much that one of the pulleys hit the driver side strut tower. I ate up a couple pulleys because of that before I figured out a quick fix. Traction is also an issue but that's expected on a fwd car with that much power to the wheels.

Strength:

Price (dropped 300.00 when decided to purchase) Did increase torque and lowered et's and increased hp of 40% (from stock 160 to 224)

Weakness:

Was told by Jackson rep's that no alteration of the ECU, fuel injectors, or fuel pump would be needed. It was stickly bolt on and use. This was not the case. During exceleration there is a slick knock as if using power fuel. Testing has founf that using premium fuel, higher flow fuel pump and high octane additives did nothing to address the issue. Tried retatrding time to help, but only created check engine light to come on. My last effort will cost me another 1,500.00 dollars to change fuel injectors and chip the ECU with Hondata or similar chip. If you decide to buy add 1,500.00 to 2,00.00 to the installation costs.

Jackson racing supercharger. Professionally installed. No alteration to existing ECU (not chipped)

-Cost compared to turbo! -Reliability -Quality -POWER!!!!!!

Weakness:

-none really, directions could have been better! -mounting the blower to the manifold is a pain in the #*^.!

My, first impression is still the one I have 2 months later, WOW!! The car pulls like there is no tomorrow @ 6psi. The feeling you get when you see the boost gauge cross the line from vac. to boost is unreal. What an awesome kit! Just press the gas and let the JRSC do it's thing, you WON'T be dissapointed! No more downshifting to get power. Some kid in his accord tried to pull me on the highway, came by me in the top of 3rd gear screaming. I just punched it in 5th, caught up, got even, then blew right by. I wonder what he thought when he heard the JRSC screaming at him! HA! Great for a daily driven car like mine where reliability is of concern. Installation was a battle, but it got done. The directions are kind of vague when it comes to critical parts! More pictures would have been very helpful!! If you want to do a smoky burnout, it won't take much effort on your half to do! The torque is awesome! It honestly feels like a completly different car. Overall, I love it!

Strength:

Great sound Good midrange power Good fuel economy Very good quality

Weakness:

Lack of low-rpm power Lack of high-rpm power Requires premium fuel Very poor installation instructions

Overall, I am happy I bought this kit. Installation was a nightmare, due to the lack of pics/diagrams, but the end result is a reliable setup with no driveability problems or check engine lights. I am a little disappointed with low rpm torque, however. The engine still feels quite lethargic under 2800 r/min. I am still using the stock air system, but I've ordered an intake, so after install it, top-end power will hopefully improve; power falls off fairly quickly above 4500 r/min. Overall, I would still recommend the Jackson Racing Supercharger to anyone with an SOHC Civic. Just make sure you have an intake and header ready because the stock parts really dampen the effect of the supercharger. No problems with detonation whatsoever. Fuel economy has only fallen by about 1 mpg but has actually improved on highway trips.

Strength:

Smooth ride, makes a really cool sound (almost like an electric car)

Weakness:

None.

Excellent product. Smooth acceleration, great torque. Can have a full car and still have a nice powered ride. No problems so far. I have many other mods done to my car including an ignition system which has prevented any detonation. So you guys with det probs should investigate a new complete ignition system. Also knocks and pings can be prevented by following JR's recommendation of using only 93+ premium gas and allowing the car to warm up for a couple miles before pushing the engine hard. If you're in cali or any other state where the premium gas is 91 tops, get some octane boost, and don't buy brand-x gas.

Strength:

no lag (instant power in all gears) easily upgradable less upkeep than a turbo

Weakness:

none

I was very impressed with the power at all gears the jrsc gave. You have to have your stock motor properly tuned to handle the jrsc or you will blow piston rings or worse crack your pistons themselves. I learnt the hard way, but i got that fixed and went with forged pistons and boost retard system. runs like a champ!

Instant (no lag) power. Great for daily drivers (so says the mechanics). FUN.

Weakness:

weaknesses? HA

Very impressive. Only problem I'm experiencing from the install is that the person who did the install didn't beat in my firewall enough so the belt rubs and needs replacing frequently (soon to be fixed). I can't imagine not owning it. I wore out my clutch and moving on to the JR stage 1 within the month.

Strength:

Instant power and very reliable. "Steve at Jackson Racing" very helpful, goes out of his way to help a brother out.

Weakness:

Intake manifold creates to much heat. I know(HONDATA GASKET)right, tried it still the same. Other than that everything else is tunable.

JR Superchargers are great for daily driving. It makes a lot of HP and torque when you need it. Great for auto crossing. My car made 236 HP with 168 Lbs of torque at the wheels with 8 lbs of boost. Still stock internals. The key is tuning and carefully following the instructions.

Strength:

Instant power on demand. O.E.M. fit,Gas milage good still, cool boost sound. Reasonable safe HP,at affordable price. Tork steer gone. sleeper car if it looks stock.

Weakness:

Should have M.A.P with kit. Instructions should have been on video. JR should suggest all belts be replaced ( altnator, power steering.) detonation is scary.

I just installed my JRSC in my car, and I am very pleased. POWER on demand. The instructions were tricky, and I believ it should have come with the M.A.P. controller, to avoid detonation, which I experienced my first day or two. Overall, makes the si very quick, better than I ever imagined. A+ pickup across the powerband, 5th feels like 3rd now. Thanks Oscar.
