Strength:

Accident forgiveness has saved my finances. I had a wreck about one month ago and Allstate has helped me every step of the way. The price I pay is great too and I saved when I switched from progressive last year.

Weakness:

I have not had a bad agent yet

They have helped me so much. You can call 877-504-6039 to get in contact with Allstate. The money I saved on rates to begin with is nothing compared to what I have now saved with accident forgiveness.

Hello everyone, beware Allstate. i am a bostonian with a perfect driving record and switched to allstate bcause they gave me a great quote. little did i know, the associate who signed me up lied about the quote. he noted that i was a homeowner and had a homeowners policy without my knowledge which led to a 350.00 discount. i am not a homeowner, i am a renter. now at the start of 2011 allstate is expecting me to pay back the discount !!! the associate lured me in with a misleading premium and now they think im going to pay for it. no way no how!! this is not my fault this is the company's lying associates' doing. massachusetts insurers are required by law to check and research previous insurers and also driving records. allstate is giving me the run around and will not research my history to find out i had my previous insurer for 3 years and also a perfect driving record! they straight out refused. on top of the 350.00 they are tryin to charge me 658.00 for not wanting to click a few keys on their computer. im a hardworking nurse and 1008 dollars is a lot to me and i am beside myself for the frustration theyve caused. save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere

Allstate Auto Insurance rips off the innocent people of America.

Allstate is the worst insurance company in the state of Ohio to deal with. They will not make sure that a rental vehicle is provided. They try to get bad parts for repairs at ridiculous prices. I had to have a fender repaired due to an Allstate Insured person hitting my car. They wanted to pay $50.00 for a used fender that needed work and no delivery. No company can find a fender for that price. This caused the repair time to escalate. To date my car has been in the shop for 6 days. They would not pick up the additional insurance charge that the rental company charges so I could not get a rental car. My car being older, I only carry liability. When asked for alternate transportation they will only pay $10 per day based entirely on their estimate which was only 12 hours. Thus they are paying me $40. This doesn't begin to cover the time I am out of a car. My car won't be done for another 3 days. Allstate sucks!

I was an Allstate customer in 2007 and I was very satisfied with the service. However, since 2007 I moved and switched insurance providers several times. But I recently wanted to return to Allstate due to their great customer care and coverage. Apparently though things had rapidly deteriorated since 2007. The sales agent entered incorrect information for my account which was sent to the credit reporting agency and as a result my rates doubled from the price that I was quoted. The low quoted price was the reason that I switched over to Allstate from Statefarm who was previously covering me. I took corrective action by calling "Trans Union" they corrected my information and then resent it to Allstate and to me. I received a copy of my credit report from Trans Union and my credit score was nearly perfect. When I called a customer service representative she was rude, acted like it was my fault and told me that my credit score was "too high...the bad kind of too high" for me to qualify for the rate I had been previously been offered for CAR insurance and that I needed to pay double. She told me that after two months of paying this doubled rate that I could have Allstate resubmit my credit report and that if it was as good as I claimed then I would qualify for the lower rate again. I told her that this was not okay and that I wanted to cancel. She transferred me to another agent who canceled my RENTAL insurance, not the car insurance like I had requested. I had to call back again on another day to get the auto canceled and there was still mass confusion and rude behavior from the customer service staff. In total I have spoken to 12 customer service representatives, 2 sales associates, and Trans Union, just to get this matter resolved and cancel my insurance policy with you. Please stop outsourcing to India! Even the own sales people think this is a joke as I was incorrectly transferred to the wrong department and the representative directly asked me "oh was it someone in India who transferred you?" The company has obviously gotten too big for its own good and has become so inefficient that this total experience has been the WORST customer service experience that I have ever had. There is no reason for such low quality of care. I will never do business with you again, and further I will recomend to everyone I know to never use the service. I am appalled at the unprofessionalism of the agency and the "bait and switch" tactics that you used with me. It was sneaky and underhanded and completely inappropriate way of doing business.

My allstate agent somehow missed TWO changes of beneficiary that I submitted on my life insurance policy when my parents passed away and when I got married. Luckily, when I moved out of state, I asked for an update of my information and realized that my deceased parents were still named as my beneficiaries!! I called to file a complaint, and the woman in the complaint dept. (Theresa Meyer) said she would email me a new beneficiary form within 24 hours. Not done. She also said she would open a file against my agent (Jim Medendorp) and have an answer to me via email or phone in the next few days. Not done. A MONTH later, I received VIA SNAIL MAIL a beneficiary change form and a bunch of excuses as to why this all happend. She pretty much acted like it was no big deal, and my agent never even called to try and rectify or apologize for the situation. Hello!?! If something would have happened to me, my new husband would have been stuck with all of our bills, and because of THEIR ERROR, he would have had no money to pay them! That's no big deal?!? That's their job for Pete's sake!!! Basically this company gives CYA service (Cover your A**) and could care less about its customers. My agent, when I did have to deal with him, was completely unprofessional and always acted like I was a major impediment on his time. Please, PLEASE, stay away!! My parents paid on this policy for 20 years, and I paid on it for 12. I closed it the other day after the horrible service and received $851 back. It made me want to throw up. There are much better insurance companies out there!!

No problem with Allstate until you file a claim or have a life insurance policy for 20-30 years and they want to get rid of you. Then the problems start. 30 year customer and my advise is to run away from Allstate.

Beware, Allstate will cancel your policy for a hit and run that wasn't your vault. Underwriters had the nerve to tell me they cancel everyones policy if the loss if over $10,000.

Gotta love Allstate... When I had a fender bender, the van was really messed up even though the truck I hit had one quarter-size. Allstate tried to fix the van, saying it was worth $12,000 when I had only paid $8,000 for it a year before! They eventually totalled it out, but I was surprised at the amount they gave me for it. Also, I had another accident with my rental car WITHIN TWO WEEKS of the first accident! Allstate covered the damage to the other car and my rental car, no problem. Insurance went up of course, but it's slowly going down. I've had no problems with Allstate and my agent is wonderful at recommending ways to get the cost down.

Weakness:

Claims handling isn't as nice as it used to be... takes much longer to get a check in hand.

Would recommend Allstate to anyone since I've carried their coverage for 34 years.

They cheat you !!!

Well I have never written a review for anyone but I am forced to write one for Allstate - the worst ever insurance company. I have been with Geico and AAA and recently moved to Allstate because I was shifting out of state and Allstate had some covergae over here. The experience has been nothing short of horrible for me and my husband.

We had paid Allstate the whole premium upfront and now when we have an accident, Allstate is playing games. Just one day after the accident, they suspended the insurance saying that they have not received a form which they were supposed to receive. Our question was why are you doing it one day after the accident? Why were we not notified that we had not submitted a form earlier and that our insurance was in jeopardy. And why did just one day after the accident were we notifed that the insurance no longer holds good. There was no email, telephone or mail communication. In fact, on the day of the accident when we had called up the claims dept, they had assured us that we were insured with proper coverages. One day after the accident, we see online that our policy is suspended.

Our only bet now is the claims dept which had taken our claim and assured that everything was set for us.



Please do not go for Allstate

Not much. They don't back their service.

Weakness:

They are criminals. They find any loop hole possible. No integrity.

Do not use All State. They have no integrity, just a bunch of crooks. We paid our premiums for 20 years and then when we have one incident they found a loop hole in our policy and won't pay. The payment is probably $2000. Do not go with All State. They are rated the very lowest for insurance companies by the judicial system.
