I recently got into a 1 vehicle accident and flipped my truck over. I went to file a claim for it, and was told that 2 years ago my policy had been reduced to the basic liability policy. When asked who authorized this and why was I not notified of the change, they tried to act like it was all my fault. I should have paid more attention. True. However, at the same time the policy reduced, I had some points come off of my liscence. So once again, why was I not notified. This was my answer, "Ma'am, we sent you 3 letters that you didn't sign. So those portions of your policy were cancelled." So how can you take my payment over the phone with no signature, yet you can cancel part of my policy? Was I ever late? How come you can issued the policy, and then all of a sudden, I don't sign a paper and you cancel on me? Makes no sense. Was never late on a payment, have received no points on my liscence since before my policy was issued. The original reasons I was given for the policy getting reduced was that 1. they didn't know 2. I had and out of state drivers licsence 3. They had to find the transcripts, etc... Now I have to get a lawyer to help me fight this.

I just had a run in with a person who had Progressive Insurance, or should I say a person with Progressive insurance ran in to me. When calling to get them to supply me with a rental car 4 days after the accident, they said they hadn't investigated the accident yet and wouldn't supply me with a rental until they had investigated it. Now, I went and got a copy of the accident report today so that I had the info so I could put in a claim. If it's available to me, it's available to them. Adjuster won't call me back and it's going to start to rain tomorrow. Which means I have to ride my motorcycle in the rain until these idiots get off their asses and do their job. Their client came over 4 lanes of traffic to broadside me. It's clearly stated in police report. I'm hoping to never have to deal with Progressive ever again and feel sorry for any clients they have. Tomorrow I have to go to Magistrage and sue the people to get covered for a rental car. I know it would make me a bit upset if I was sued because my insurance company didn't act fast enough. Dont get progressive insurance!!
I met with an accident and the insurance company was extremely rude, not corporative and they are the BIGGEST CHEATS. Though my car was totaled they said it is repairable and wanted to repair it. They provide you with inconsistent information and confuse the hell out of u. No help whatsoever. I am an auditor in the insurance practice and hate to be treated like this.

High pressure settlements. Refused to provide quality repairs. Took three times as long to repairs as we were told.

The neighbors' tree crushed our car. We had to demand that an appraiser come out to look at it. Progressive pressured us into using their "Concierge service" by telling us that they were just going to cut a check for the estimated amount if we didn't decide immediately to use this service. They told us that if we took it to the dealer we would only receive the cost of the estimate that they provided for generic parts. They told us it would be ready in a week--it took a month. The repairs are shoddy. We are cancelling our policy as soon as we can find another. I can't believe the terrible service that Progressive provided.

Like every other insurace company, they do ultimately put profits before customer needs, but I believe they recognize the connection between the two better than most other companies.

I've been through a lot with Progressive over the past 5 years - an accident with the other person at fault and their insurance company (Allstate) refusing to pay 100% of damages, an accident with me at fault, a speeding ticket, marriage with a new driver added onto policy, etc. The only negative experience was when my car was totalled and Progressive quoted its value about 15% lower than what I thought was fair. I complained and they gave me a little more AND went out themselves and found me a better car for the price they were quoting, which I later bought and drive to this day.

Large parasidic company feeding off the people of the world. Unstoppable due to Lobbiests, Lawyers, Laws in their favor and compleate lack of business morality

Their only weakness that I see is a federal investigation. Please someone stop them

I recently started an Insurance policy through Progressive. I contacted them online first. Plugged in all the information, honestley to (I might add). I don't like any problems later, and got my "quote". Later when I talked to a broker It was a little higher. I had to include a teen age son. "Ok" no big deal. So I made my payments for a three months by automatic withdraw. Then I recieve this statment saying I owe $506.00. At first I thought maybe I bounced a check or something But, No. Progressive Had raised my rate to $304.00 per month for my "high Risk" record. Which I had been honest about from the begining. And the mysterous $506.00 was for the 3 months I had already paid, and that they were back charging me because I had not paid them enough. I am a reasonable person and would have considered staying with them If they had said we are raising your monthly rate for a fit reason. But I cooperated with them from the start, paid my bills and didn't crash my car. Nor have I EVER filed a claim. Now they tell me I will not be able to get insurance with any one else and it will show "bad credit" because I will not pay them. After reading some of the other reviews I actually feel lucky! Why doesn't our government STOP THE MADNESS.

Hit by a drunk driver that had Progressive Insurance. They are dragging their feet accepting liability,,,the driver went to jail! The adjuster gave me an estimate that was 1/3 of the body shop and told me they could fix the plastic front bumper cover that is smashed,,,two body shops laughed and said no way yoy need a used one. The adjuster also said they would use junk parts and not pay for a new bumper cover,,This company is a joke and I can't wait until the class action law suites start...

BE WARY OF PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE!
I believe, Progressive inc. does a bait and switch to their loyal customers when they change addresses!

Timeline:
Jan 10, 2006- I move from the Santa Monica area to Pasadena
Jan 13th- My old Progressive policy EXPIRES for $620 every 6 months
Jan 14th- 2:32 pm- I log onto Progressive Direct and change my address
Jan 14th- 4:30 pm- I log back into Progressive, IT SHOWS MY NEW ADDRESS and that 6 months of coverage will be $620
Jan 14th- 4:35pm- I pay $620 online and receive confirmation of payment.
Feb 10th- I recieve a bill for and ADDITIONAL $220 due to my change of address. I call to inform them that my change of address happened 2 hours BEFORE I paid for my new policy. They tell me that a change of address can take up to 3 days and that I must pay the new amount or pay a $50 cancelation penalty.

Remember, I made this change AFTER my old policy had expired and had NO obligation to renew with them. I could have logged in an a new customer and gotten an instant quote for the correct amount but as, an existing customer it takes up to 3 days to get an accurate rate????
They are able to give immediate quotes for non-customers but 2 hours to update my rate as loyal customer was insufficient????
At no time, before I paid, did their website tell me there was a rate change. When I went to pay, their site could have shown me the updated rate, said they were unable to give me a current rate or told me my that the rate shown could change due to my recent address change, but it didn't. I feel that this deception must be intentional because changing your address at the end of your policy must be a common occurence!

I challenge any representative of Progressive inc. to adequately dispute these claims!

My wife was in an auto accident in 2003. The driver of the other vehicle was at vault. To date Progressive Insurance had done nothing to help with my wife's medical expenses. I would not recommend Progressive to anyone.

Talks a good game and that is about it. They want your money but fail to pay you when you have a claim.

Rude, discourteous, flat out lies about the estimate. Drags their feet harrassment over and beyond that of a professional organization. I will never deal with them again.

Complaint not with Ford Focus but with Progressive Insurance which I have had since 1999. The insurance adjustor was bad news from beginning. Discourteous, failed to provide me with a written estimate in timely manner. I still have not received it. Made slanderous remarks about me, my husband and a friend. She has done everything she can to avoid paying a rightful claim. I have turned information over to Insurance Bureau. I would not reccomend this company to anyone. Go to a company that gives better service and lower rates and does not hassle the client. The Ford Focus is a nice little vehicle. It is a shame a hit and run driver hit it. My problem is with the insurance company.
