Strength:

Its hard for me list strengths feeling betrayed by my agent. They are good with accident and car claims.

Weakness:

State Farm had been my agent for almost 2 years. On my parents plan from 2004 to 2008 while in high school, college.

I would not recommend state farm due to an oui incident in may 2007 my only. Apparently state farm had not known howvere when i signed up for life insurance ,y agent called a year ago to tell my my rate would be 50 and was not able to give a rate that you get returned in the future due to my oui. My agent knew I had the OUI but never recommended me to find another car insurance agency. I add my fiance to my insurance plan a week ago and I recieve a call signing I will be dropped due to them discovering my oui!?! This was a big surprise to me considering my agent and I had discussed my OUI and he was aware of it. It would have been in my best interest to have been honest with me and recommend another agency verses waiting for any time frame to be dropped. I feel my agent was not honest with me instead wanted to soak up the monthly percentage until THEY DECIDED TO DROP ME yet give me no termination date. I spent 2 hours today finding new rates for my fiance and I. I find two, progressive and Geiko to offer better rates for my fiance and I with better coverage comprehensive and collision wise, 100 dollar deductables with roadside assitance and being completely honest about my 2007 OUI and my fiances 3 violations. I will be going with Progressive and will be saving 12 dollars a month! Keep in mind state farm does not give second chances instead judging you vs believing in you becoming a better, wiser person learning from your single mistake. Makes me wonder if someone had life insurance and became ill with cancer, aids a fatal disease would they be dropped by state farm?? As an agent to my parents for 15 years plus I do not believe my state farm agent was honest or loyal to my parents as well as I for not recommending their daughter go elsewhere before being dropped. Go with progressive!

I've been with my agent since i bought my first car a 92 chevy camaro. one of the t-tops on the car broke and it was a really hard piece of glass to find. State Farm's claim adjuster was able to find the piece locally and set everything up for me. I had my car fixed that same week and my rates didn't go up. My rates actually went down because my agent noticed my tickets had dropped off and he hooked me up with a big discount. I've had a great experience, even though I've shopped and I know I can get the coverage cheaper. I know a friend who switched and saved a bunch of money and when he had a claim, he got what he paid for. He is still trying to collect from the insurance company (AAA) who is fighting him every step of the way.

i have used st farm for over 25 years. always good on paying claims. my teenage daughter has wreced 4 cars! yes 4! st farm always paid the claim, and only went up on our insurance once. unfortuneatly, i can no longer afrod them.

NON RENEWAL FOR 15 Yrs CUSTOMER

I have been a customer of State farm Insurance in New Jersey for about 15 years. Along with Auto Insurance, I also have the Home owners insurance with state farm. I chose State farm a while back because of their proximity in Parsippany and cheaper rates among other companies. All seems to go well till I submitted a claim few weeks back. I had rear ended another car. There was minor damage to my car and other car.

This is the second claim I know of for the past 15 years as State farm customer. State farm claim agents on the phone tried to prevent me from filig the claim , repeatedly indicating deductibles etc., Most disappointing of all, in a week my Agent calls me to inform me in advance that Statefarm will not renew my Auto Insurance citing all the tickets I had for the past 5 years and that the "trend" of my Auto claims is alarming to them. This is by far most ridiculous reason considering, there are 2 claims in past 15 years. This is horrible way to treat a customer and branding someone as Insurance fraud.

If Medical Insurance company withdraws insurance because of increasing health claims based on age and all Insurance carriers selectively profiles their customer to unilaterally decide not to renew their long standing customers, what is the purpose of buying Insurance? To send a fixed sum into a black hole every month to support their huge offices and beaurocracy?

It is important for everyone to realize the dark side and the real business model behind State farm insurance. While I can easily find another insurance carrier, I will make it a point to educate all customers on State farm Insurance's wrong practices. I am also considering legal action around lack of Business ethic and accountability for their own line of Business.

Don't use this website to compare anything!!! Find another one too see comments about insurance companies.

I was trying to compare problems other people have had with either Allstate, State Farm, Geico, etc. I was looking to see which one people liked better. I soon realized that THIS WEBSITE POSTS THE SAME REVIEWS ON ALL THE DIFFERENT INSURANCE COMPANIES! So if you are only looking up one, then you would never know that the comment you are looking at my have been meant for another company!

Pam Chickness has been very strange in my dealings with her. I called the office to dispute a mistake (premium taken direct debit, mistake in her favor), and she screamed about how rediculous I was and how State Farm did not want me as a customer. In her defense, maybe she was having a very bad day, but if I would have spoken to one of my clients that way, not only would I have been terminated, but my employer would have sued me for damages.

Claims dept is extremely rude and not sympathetic to the "victim" involved in car accidents involving their insured drivers. This insurance company replaces your with used and remanufactured parts and provides the minimum in replacement with regard to the value of your vehicle - lowering the value of your vehicle. They will offer the minimum assistance in rental car resources and provide no option if your car is deemed mechanically unsound after the first attempt to have your vehicle repaired. The customer service dept advise you that there is nothing they can do for you and tell you that it's not their problem. Even when their insured drivers are incarcerated in accidents for drug possession they will not cover or assist victims affected by the trauma - they will continue to disconnect calls and refuse to answer legitimate questions from the victim of their insured drivers. I am still in the middle of settling a claim with them - my vehicle was not repaired to original standards and State Farm refused to approve a rental vehicle even after being notified that the vehicle was not properly repair. Im a single mother with children and their claims dept stated that there was nothing they could do for me. I advised them that my vehicle was not safe to transport my child in ... they did not offer rental car assistance, they in fact refused stating that it was the body shops responsibility to fix it. When advised that it was Friday and the shop was closed they said ... On Tuesday take my car to a qualified shop to have it diagnosed but if it's not related to the accident they will not pay for the diagnosis and left me stranded without "safe" transportation for my children. Their representative advised me that the shop I took my car to did not offer repairs other then a standard alignment - yet they were initially aware that there was mechanical damage to my vehicle ... leaving me without "safe" transportation for my child on a holiday weekend for while shops are closed.

My personal experience with State Farm as far as being the victim of circumstances after their insured driver struck my car was not one that you could "trust" to provide restitution for the damages incurred. My experience with them was quite the opposite - You'll end up with a car that isn't repaired properly along with the devalued existence of the used or remanufactured parts. Any mechanical damage that isn't fixed after the body work is completed will become a nightmare because until you find a competant mechanic to diagnose the problems with your vehicle after the accident... you will basically be with a vehicle until they can relate those damages to the actual accident and their claims reps basically make it clear that they might not cover the diagnosis charges.
As a victim of an accident where their insured driver is responsible - I found myself stranded and treated with total disrespect. Where I'm concerned there is no "trust" with regard to claims settlements with State Farm, there is no empathy where the victim is concerned. So when you are searching for an insurance company that will provide proper restitution if you are in fact involved in an accident - I would suggest that you find a more reputable company that will provide the coverage - both mechanically and superfically as well as provide the "empathy" towards the victims involved. I've made numerous calls to this company to resolve my current claim and every representative I've spoken to is clearly short spoken, they do not listen, they provide below minimum assistance in restitution and do not care how rude their customer service is to those affected by their insured at fault drivers. This is an extemely ugly experience - you better hope that you are never struck by a vehicle that is covered by this company - you will lose both personal property, financial income and be emotionally ignored as well as stranded without safe transportation for your family if you happen to be the unfortunate one that is affected by their so called "Insurance" My vehicle is still not repaired.

Customer Service.

I spoke with an agent and he was the nicest insurance agent I have ever dealt with. He was patient with me, answered all of my questions, offered help, and just genuinely friendly. He even offered to drive out to my work so I could sign the papers! I even saved money by switching to State Farm!!

state farm has none

Weakness:

state farm has them all

30+ years with State Farm and they are using wrecking yard materials with bondo on them to repair my vehicle. they are horrible to the agent and me. their statement made to me about my disappointment in their cutting corners practice was: "You're not the first and you won't be the last". Don't get near this company. you pay full price but they repair with used parts costing them about 1/4 the cost of new after market parts.

If u have an auto claim...good luck! They don't do what they say they are going to do.
