I would not recommend that anyone rent from this company. Three things went wrong with our rental car while we had it and all they did was note our file about it. The thing that topped the cake was our tire pressure light went off and I called in and they said it could be a number of things like the cold weather. The last day we had the car we got a flat tire 160 miles from the rental company. The company was rude to us about it and did not care. They wanted us to us our own AAA to fix, told us there was a spare tire in the trunk and it wasn't. We were 1 hour late returning the car because we had to fix it ourselves with fix a flat and ride slow on the freeway to get back and they still charged us an extra day.

Weakness:

Poor customer service. The remote was not working and I respectfully requested for a discount for the inconvenience of not having a working remote and the customer rep was rude and said you will not get a discount for that.

I have never rented a vehicle with bad customer service. The customer should always be satisfied and happy so they can receive more business. I will not rent at this place again. Please be careful when renting a vehicle from Advantage rent a car in Jacksonville, FL.

None a bait and switch.

Weakness:

Very poor customer no service and a very bad managers to help the staff be better employee's.

I ordered a full size car and the wanted to give me a sub compact. The salesman was very rude said take it or leave it also told me if I went anywhere else I would pay 5 times more! I asked for the manager and he was less then helpful so I did what the salesman offered me take it or leave it and so I left it! This company is doomed for failure with this kind of customer no service.

BAIT n SWITCH
I ordered a car from Advantage thru PRICELINE - an economy car that Priceline defines as seats 4 and holds 2 bags. This was mid January an Ft Lauderdale FL and the price was 11.85/day. When I get there they see i have 3 people in total and tell me the car i get is a Smart car with one seat (no back seat). i (show and) tell them my Priceline offer for an economy car is the equivalent of a chevy aveo and they say those cars are 30/day but they'll be nice and give me a 5% discount. BAIT n SWITCH. Be careful for this - i went to Avis and got a car for 22/day.

Strength:

Advertized price was slightly better than the competition at a time of year (New Year's weekend) when rental prices in Miami are very high

Weakness:

model was what I had asked for but it was drab-looking and smelled musty inside.

Desk staff was poorly trained and not customer friendly. Staff at car delivery point was cooperative and did their best. Whne I complained about the car smell and asked for a different car, they said they would check "upstairs," then came back with a spray deodorant -- clearly thepeople upstairs nixed the idea of giving me another car and the staff downstairs did do their best to satisfy me under the circumstances. I think the problems with this company are at management level. I now learn this comany is owned by Hertz and is used to extend the life of their rental cars -- which in turn means that you can be sure the car you get is a Hertz reject.

The entire experience was horrible.

WARNING!

Whatever you do, do not rent with this company! I rented in Chicago. The shuttle that is supposed to come every 15 min was almost an hour late. The prices were over $200 over the quote price. The staff was not at all helpful and they were trying to upsell me on everything. Watch out for hidden costs. This company has absolutely no transperancy in its business practices. The manager was extremely unethical: after I finally received a price and signed for it, he gave me a new ticket and added $40 dollars more to my credit card. This is flat out theft and could in fact count as a criminal activity. Fortunately I caught his add-on and forced him to give me the price I signed for.

I felt lied to the entire time I was in the office. This branch is completely unprofessional. Pay $50 more and take a different company like Budget or Dollar. I will never again use this service. I recommend that all customers take their business elsewhere (but not to Hertz because it is a parent company.)

Do not give them your credit card number. You will be surprised later with extra hidden charges that they never told you about when you rented the car.

A very poor experience.

Deceptive rental practices & pricing. Poor customer service

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. I rented a car from Advantage in COS in September and declined all the upcharges at check in. Despite that fact, they put a $30 vehicle upgrade on my final bill. After four months disputing the charge with their branch manager and corporate office, I still feel cheated. The Location Manager Joann Glider has made no attempts to help me resolve this, and will not return calls.

The bottom line: pay a few dollars more and rent from the other guys in Colorado Springs.

Weakness:

Rented a car on Maui for one month. Tried to give me a small car, rather then the full sized I paid for. Did not disclose total rate when I reserved car. Women at check in was rude and tried to pawn off a smaller car, calling it a full size(small chev. 4door).

Would NEVER deal with this firm again!

Car was great. No issues.

Weakness:

Customer Service skills were AWFUL. The lady that checked me in had NO idea what she was doing. She had to ask for help during each stage of the process. Each time she stated the amount of the car it was a different price. Horrible.
She insisted on calling me "Honey" Yes, I am a few years younger than her, however I am a paying customer. The least you can/should do is call me Ma'am. I did that for you.
I will never rent from them again, nor will I refer to a friend.

On a side note... calling their 1-888 number isn't any better. I waited 35 minutes to speak to someone for him to tell me to take it up with my bank. When I asked to speak to someone else, he claimed he was the only one that could help me. After much debate (another 15 minnutes) he put someone else on the line. Did it seriously have to come to that?
I give them a rating of 1... I only give a one because I wasn't given the option of anything less than that.

Strength:

Gave us a car which is very nice, clean and in good condition. Gave us option to pre pay gas cost for $2.09/gallon compare to market price $2.59/gallon. We prepay for gas, so we didnt have to fill up the tank when we returned the car. No Hassle on return. Return avail 24hrs a day. Customer was good. I reserve a car for 7 am. They provide me a car at 9 am with no problem. They didnt pressure me to get additional insurance coverage like Dollar tried to do. Guy asked me do i have rental car coverage. I told him my amex card will covers it.

Weakness:

They didnt have a car i reserved for.

I have good experience renting a car. Good customer Service.
