Terrible customer service I had a confirmed car rental through Expedia for a weekly Advantage Rent a Car for Phoenix Sky Harbor in January. Due to a delayed flight and slow shuttle bus to Car Rental Center I arrived 62 minutes late. I was told my reservation had been cancelled as I was over 60 minutes late. The counter person would not respond to my incredulous questioning of this, nor let me speak to a supervisor. He told me to check out Budget as they "have good rates". All other rental car agencies cost more than $350 per week more than my confirmed reservation for a walk up. I had no choice but to rent from them and was told Advantage obviously had overbooked and I was left out in the cold. I called and wrote both the local Phoenix agent and Advantage Corporate and never had a return call from Phoenix, and was told by Corporate they were sorry, they had referred me to the manager in Phoenix, who never returned my calls. I have never received a response.
Similar Products Used: National Car Rental was very friendly and helpful, but their walk up prices were their prices and my vacation cost me $350 more than I had budgeted. |

I rented the car for 8 days Feb 26 to Mar 6, 2013. The price was over $100 less than everyone else, so I took a chance that it would be good. Upon arrival at the airport, it was easy to find where their shuttle picks up and drops off. Waited only 5 minutes for shuttle. Shuttle driver was friendly and helpful, and the shuttles are all new. There was no line at the counter and the counter man was friendly and helpful. Took about 10 minutes for paperwork, got the car, and we just drove it off the lot. Check-in was easy and quick. They refunded the $200 deposit to my credit card, and I ended up paying the agreed price - $120. Waited 3 minutes for a shuttle back, and 10 minutes later we were inside the airport! This was one of the most pleasant car rental experiences I've had!! |

Advantage is a horrible company. They advertise through Priceline and we brought the insurance with the vehicle. When we picked up the vehicle they said they would not honor the insurance and we would have to buy their insurance also. Have a $200 deposit that is not listed. Not a big deal but they should list it. The guy was very unhelpful. Will never use advantage again. |

Bus service from Orlando Airport.

Everything else. Booked small car online, confirmed price and insurance twice (over internet and telephone). On the phone, I had to call several times to get through. Once we got to the building, they informed us there were no compact cars available, and we upgraded to an SUV. However, I walked around their parking lot, to discover several small cars that did not appear to be damaged or reserved. After going back inside and being firm, we got a Corolla, the small car we originally wanted.

too many to list RENTER BEWARE!!!!! We waited for nearly an hour (along with other frustrated, tired and angry customers) and continuously attempted to call the local number listed, but only received more recorded instructions for how to wait for the shuttle. We finally reached someone at the national number and were told that a shuttle would be there in 10 minutes. While we were waiting, other shuttle companies coming by were telling us that Advantage was out of cars and had been most of the day. “That is impossible”, we thought, we have a reservation and no one had called or e-mailed us to say this was true. Sure enough, after more than an hour wait, the driver pulls up and confirmed the bad news. We demanded that he take us to the office so we could talk to someone. When we got there, there were four employees sitting around and no cars and no customers. It was also obvious that they were not answering the phones on purpose, not making the runs and informing people and basically hiding from the customers who pay their salaries! Had we not called the national company to get through to someone, no one would have come out to the airport and no one would have picked up the phone.

Similar Products Used: Enterprise, Dollar, Budget have all been used before without a hitch. So Advantage is the weakest link. |
