AEM Cold Air Intake Intakes/Filters

AEM Cold Air Intake Intakes/Filters

DESCRIPTION

The new AEM Cold Air Induction system generates more horsepower and torque than all other air intake devices.

A cold air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver cool air inlet temperatures. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows us to deliver large power gains. We also monitor fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during product development to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light.

good power gains sounds good may be a little too loud at first, but you come to like it

Weakness:

the transmission mount has to be changed and the bolts are a pain to get off(ist so big you have to use their mount) but i dont believe this is for all cars just a few

this product is great, many people consider it a but it there is no other product like it on the market, it sounds good and has decent power gains

Strength:

Approximately 16hp gain and 20lb per foot gain. Awesome sound more horse power better gas mileage(if you drive gently) it looks beatiful when you open your hood.

Weakness:

The price is a bit steep for an air intake. But quality comes first. You will lower some 0-2000 rpm torque, but after 2000, you can pick up quite nicely and make up for it.

I placed with AEM V2 on a 2004 Honda Civic EX with a 127hp 1.7L VTEC. Later I found out this part suggest manual transmission only, but I can't tell anything because I still have lots of gains. The instructions were as simple as they could be told, but could have been better. Taking off the resonator stock was a pain, but once the AEM V2 was installed I could tell a difference right away. The car sounds like an angry V6 when punching it from idle. The lower RPMs sound very agressive and when you get to 3000 rpm you can feel the extra torque. When the car reaches 4000 rpm you can feel all the horse benefit. Now that my car has bigger nostrils I can race close to the redline with no other add-ons. Overall, you can't go wrong with this upgrade.

Strength:

Great sound and the power difference is very noticable from stock

Weakness:

doesn't do much for lower RPM but other than that definately worth putting on your car

When my friend and I put the intake on, I imediately felt a difference. Not only at higher RPM, but I love the sound. The only problem with the intake was that the filter they use was a piece of crap and broke right off the bat. But now that it's replaced, I'm quit pleased.

I got to say that cai owns sri. I have had this intake on for awhile now and still feel the power and nice sound during vtec it makes. CAI are great in general and I honestly brought it only because of the carb sticker.

Sounds great..looks great..acts great..is great..

Weakness:

Cheap filter.. and had to cut the intake..almost like watching your beloved pet go under some uncertain surgery.... it makes ya lose a lil horsepower..but like i said.. im picky and i want whats best for my car.. so.. had to get the BPV

AEM CAI is a decent peace of equipment, I'ma very picky person, and i like whats best for my car, It was either this or the INJEN RACE DIVISION... I noticed the sound difference and gain in horsepower... but just like everyone else with a HONDA ACCORD... my filter broke, I replaced it with a RACTIVE Filter with heat sheild and it actually got ALOT deeper... I plan to an H22 in my accord this summer and i want the V2 intake as well.. hopefully it doesnt come with the cheap filter.. and I hope i wont suffer from hydrolock since it doesnt use the BPV

Ractive filter w/heat sheild (if you've got an accord and your filter breaks, i recommend this!!!... makes intake even deeper and i believe it also helps prevent hydrolockage)
