Strength:

-Immediate throttle response
-Small horsepower increase to a stock car, but the more air/fuel mods that are done, the more the intake becomes effective.
-Easy installation. (CAI requires the removal of that damn noise box)
-Good alternative to a CAI 3 times the money
-Noticable gas milage increase IF you don't drive a fool all the time.

Weakness:

-Engine noise is definitely evident now. Its nice to hear the engine roar sometimes, but I don't need it every single time i have to down shift/pass someone.
-For a pipe and conical filter, $50 would have been acceptable.

If any of you are familiar with DC2 integra, then you know about the rediculous stock intake setup and why the noise cancellation box is there. In through the fender, into the noise canceling box deal, then the actual airbox, plastic piping, and finally the intake manifold. I bought my intake from the local autoparts store just out of convienience. It took a little over an hour to get on since the bolts were rusted on the stock intake, so i had to drown the sucker in some wd40. it only took basic hand tools to do.
This was the first mod i did to the car in the first month i had it. Aggresive driving with the stock intake i could get 2nd gear to chirp pretty good. Just punching the throttle during highway cruizing and it lags. Once the intake was on, it was like the car awakened. I can go through the gears and get 2nd and 3rd to chirp. 4th and 5th pull hella hard now. Punching it in highway cruizing and i actually sink back in my seat. At idle, it sounds stock, nothing special at all. Just cruizing, and you still maybe able to hear the intake, depending at what RPM. Just mash the throttle, and you will be noticed. Noise wise, comparable to exhaust.

Strength:

Better acceleration,
Better fuel mileage,
Looks really nice under hood,
Nice sound at 2500+ rpms,
No fear of hydrolock.

Weakness:

Instructions were hard to understand, download the instructions for a K&N cold air if you want better ones; really tight fit under hood, the filter rests against the back of my headlight.

First off what I paid for this was a steal. It was $109.99 with free S&H. I'd recommend performancecenter.com to anyone.
This is my second mod to my honda and probably the one I'm most happy with. It took me about 40 minutes to pull the stock intake out and put the short ram in, but that's just because I took the resinator out too and was very careful with what I was doing. I recommend pulling the stock resinator out just to get some cold air in there, I felt a difference once I did. No power loss low end with the resinator out and mid to high end kicks really nice. It sounds stock under 2500 rpms, and has a real nice howling sound at aroud 4000. I gained probably around 5 - 7 hp and add that to my flowmaster cat-back my honda's pushing 140+ hp (130 stock). I'd say AEM is the best short ram on the market and highly recommend it.

Strength:

- Engines sound is unleashed
- Very inexpensive modification
- Small boost in hp
- Installation is a breeze, even for those who are install-averse
- Looks great

Weakness:

- Included instructions not very helpful, but the install is fairly self-explanatory and additional info can be found on the web.

Purchased this product from and must say that I am very pleased with it. Normally I would have gone with a cold air intake, but the short ram was less than 1/3 of the price and there is no worry of hydrolocking your engine. To me, a broke college student, the extra price/worry of the CAI wasn't worth it. The short ram gives you a little boost in hp, and adds a real nice growl to the engine noise (especially at full throttle). Installation was a breeze, especially considering I am pretty much inept when it comes to self installations. All I needed was 1 hours time and a couple of common house tools to do the install. One minor point to note is that if you are very unfamiliar with how a car operates/looks under the hood, the included instructions are not very helpful. They are poorly worded, and do not include any pictures whatsoever. This isn't really a problem though, because pics and detailed install info can be found through searching the internet. All in all, a great bang for the buck product!

Nice horsepower gain, will get you a lot of attention when you get around 3500 RPMs

Weakness:

The AEM short ram is definitely worth the money. I'm no expert but I think my horsepower has increased by at least 5. The only problem is it has been snowing a lot here so I haven't been able to get above 4000 RPMs :-(.
