DC Sports Intakes Intakes/Filters

DC Sports Intakes Intakes/Filters

DESCRIPTION

The DC Sports Direct Air Charger is a sure fire way to improve your Honda or Acura with dyno tested bolt on performance. Because it takes more than just bending some tube to build a good intake, we spend countless hours in the R&D department to ensure that our parts work as we claim.

Model Reviewed: '94 Accord Wagon (AT)

Strength:

Looks great, a very modest improvement in performance.

Weakness:

Too freakin' loud! I was looking for increased performance, not the appearance (or sound, in this case) of increased performance.

I paid around $170 for the DAC kit. The instructions were pretty good, and installation was a snap. The first time I drove the car with the intake on there I was shocked at the noise. When idling or cruising at low RPM it sounds pretty much stock, but when you stomp the gas, the wagon roars from 3000 RPM to redline. I'm convinced that throttle response and 3K to redline horsepower have improved, though not by massive amounts.

Model Reviewed: 1995 Acura Integra GS

Strength:

-Very throaty sound at full throttle. Nice sound at intermediate throttle applications.
-Some low RPM performance gains notable--very minor however.
-Engine does feel more "free" and throttle response improved.
-Quality of product (tube, K & N filter element) all very good.
-Quality of installation: support arm that mounts to the frame included for the tube, clamps to the throttle body effective.

Weakness:

-Appearance. The "DAC" logo on the side of the tube looks stupid.
-Almost too loud for an intake--may be the Integra causing this.
-May be intaking hot air b/c of filter placement

-paid $165 from NOPI
-Generally good (if loud)sound quality and improved throttle response.
-Performance gains minor, but higher than expected
-Appearance somewhat less good than other intakes.
-Price somewhat better than other intakes, but still expensive.
