K & N Fuel Injection Performance Kits Intakes/Filters

K & N Fuel Injection Performance Kits Intakes/Filters

DESCRIPTION

The K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK) dramatically reduces intake restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your vehicle's engine to inhale a larger volume of air than the OEM air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and torque throughout the engine's RPM range, with even greater power gains in turbocharged and supercharged engines. FIPKs are available for many popular performance vehicles, and are designed to replace the original air filter case without jeopardizing important emission standards. Exempted by the California Air Resource Board, FIPKs make it possible to experience the rapid acceleration of enhanced air flow while meeting the tough emissions standards of C.A.R.B.. These FIPKs are washable, reusable and backed by K&N's unique 10 year Million Mile Limited Warranty.

Strength:

Turns the Jeep Grand Cherokee into a performer.

Weakness:

It's a little noisy on hard acceleration, but who cares - it makes hard acceleration fun.

K & N advertises that the Jeep gets the greatest increase in horsepower and I certainly wouldn't dispute that. Once the computer realizes a change has incurred the performance improvement is significant. I strongly recommend it to any Jeep Grand Cherokee V-8 owner who enjoys performance.

Ease of use. Quality and durability.

Weakness:

No performance improvement over OEM parts.

Easy installation. Easy to clean and re-use. I'll never have to buy an air filter again. Minimal, undetectable performance gains.

Strength:

Noticable HP gain. They give you stickers :), new hose clamps

Weakness:

Not as easy to install as I guessed. The main tube was not long enough for the filter to go on easily. The AIR pump hose hits the brake line box now. It took 2 people, 1 to push the the tube down far enough and 1 to install the filter. Price is little high for what you get. Have to remove under covers to clean filter.

It works. Probably the best "bolt-on" performance gain part for this application. This replaced a dirty air filter so the power gain may be more than usual.

Strength:

SOUND, easy install, look, sound of air being sucked into engine,

Weakness:

didn''t seem like too much increase in throttle response. i noticed a little not much greater as k&n claims.

Impressed with the sound it makes when u punch it. Kind of sluggish low rpm''s below 2500. once higher rpms 2500+ feel more power.

If you have an intake and your Air Filter has a 3 inch opening on the top like most import Air Filters do I have found a cheap way to get more air into your intake for about $20 bucks. You can buy a 3 inch fan (usually made for computer power supplys) and mount it on the 3 inch opening with some self tapping tech screws or any screw should be able to work. Once you install it just add a switch so you can turn it on and off. The fan should cost about $15 the wire $3 and the switch $2. The fan should push a little more thru the intake. I have noticed a little improvement and for $20 bucks you can''t go wrong.

Strength:

-Increased Throttle Response -Increased Torque in higher RPM range -Throaty Sound (if you like sound)

Weakness:

-Less pick-up in lower RPM range...just upshift!!!

This is definitely a good investment. I know from research that filter boxes kill horsepower simply to reduce noise--the K&N filtercharger takes away all that twisting and turning the air has to do to get to the engine through a filter box. I noticed increased throttle response, better torque in the higher RPM range, and the sweetest throaty noise I have ever heard out of my car. And the nice thing is, it''s only loud when I want it to be--when I step on it. Otherwise, silent as stock. A cold air intake is probably better, but I have no doubts this is nearly as good as one.

Strength:

High Air Flow, Low Long term maintaince cost, and your car generally runs better due to better air supply.

Weakness:

Can''t tell you, haven''t find one yet, other than finding the $145 out of my empty packet.

Great investment, installed into my car, I immediately noticed my turbos kick in much quicker, which give me monstrous acceleration in all range. Was considering HKS’s kit, however, in the long run, the cost for filters will be costly. So I go with FIPK. The installation isn’t bad at all. I am hoping my fuel efficiency will go up, but I have not run long enough to check yet. Anyhow, this will be a good investment for most people.
