1995 Mazda MX6 LS
Strength:
Quiet. Responsive handling. Enhances the MX6's inherently excellent handling. Others have commented favorably about the tire's unique tread pattern.
Weakness:
May not do well in the snow like the RE71 which I had on my 1993 MX6. I noticed a decrease in handling when I traded-in my 1993 Mazda MX6LS with RE71 V-rated tires for a 1995 Mazda MX6LS with RE92 V-rated M/S tires. The RE92 was okay but I had the opportunity to change tires with 34,000 miles because of nail punctures and misalignment. I selected the RE730 Z-rated tire and the staff at the Firestone store concurred. They said I would notice a difference and I did. Similar Products Used: Bridgestone Potenza RE71 - similar handling, but a lot quieter. |

Strength:
Not only do they look great but they greatly improved ride quality over the worn Dunlop SP 5000's. Much better in quality than lesser brands such as Toyo, Falken, or Nitto. They have incredible grip in dry and are whisper quiet and super smooth on the freeway. Great high speed stability. The quality is definitely there.
Weakness:
None. I love these tires and am expecting to get better mileage than other Z rated tires due to their 300 treadwear rating. They make driving my car a true joy. I would not hesitate to recommend these tires to anyone. All the bad rap that Bridgestone is getting because of their affiliation with Firestone is truly a shame. From my past experience Bridgestone makes top quality tires and I do not hesitate to trust my safety in these tires. Similar Products Used: Dunlop SP 5000. Falken FK-06M. |

Handling, Price, Quietness, Wet Traction, Stiff Sidewalls
Weakness:
None These tires are the best ultra-performance tires out there. If you want phenomenal performance with good treadwear (300) and wet handling without spending a fortune, these are the tires. The front of the car stays perfectly flat (no diving) even with high-speed lane changes, and they give perfect road feedback (which is a good thing (to me) - If you want a smooth ride, stick to touring tires). A lot less road noise than I expected from an ultra-performance tire. Similar Products Used: Yokohama 316 Touring Tires - A sin against humanity. They broke free making a left turn!!! |

Strength:
EXCELLENT WET/DRY TRACTION, SMOOTH RIDE, VERY QUIET EVEN AT 150 + MPH
Weakness:
WILL NOT WORK IN SNOW- DON'T EVEN TRY ONE OF THE BEST PERFORMANCE TIRES OUT THERE. THEY REALLY STICK. I EXPECT AVERAGE TIRE LIFE, MAYBE 25K MILES? THEY HOLD THEIR LINE VERY WELL WHEN STUCK INTO A CORNER. I HAVE OWNED 2 SETS OF DUNLOPS AND THEY HAD WAY TOO SOFT OF A SIDEWALL FOR ME. Similar Products Used: RE 71- WEARS OUT TOO FAST(THE RE730 CORNERS JUST AS AGGRESIVELY). PIRELLI 7000 SUPERSPORT- WON'T HOLD THE TURBO Z (WILL PUT YOU SIDEWAYS ALL DAY LONG, SLIDES WAY TOO EASY). THEY ALSO HOWL TOO LOUD. |

Dry and Wet Traction.
Weakness:
Snow Traction and Road Noise. I have upgraded my suspension so my review is based upon that rather than a stock suspension setup. The tires were great in the beginning. They held the road very well Wet or Dry. I still have not been able to get them to complain under hard cornering. When new they were very quiet but now they are rather loud at highway speed. I would still highly recommend the tire. Similar Products Used: Toyo Z1, Goodyear GA. The Goodyears came stock on the care and just plain suck. The Toyos were pretty good in the dry and wet. Just ok in the snow. The Re730s are far better in the Dry or Wet than either tire. |

One of the better performing tires out there.
Weakness:
Tire Noise Great looking tire, excellent cornering, dry or wet. However, I would not consider buying them again. Why? The tire noise is DEAFENING! Didn’t happen for the first 7500-10K. Even at 15 MPH, you can hear these tires! Similar Products Used: Yokos, Michelin High Performance |
