Strength:

Great traction, cornering and stopping.

Weakness:

Wear fast

$141.00 a piece for the 245 45zr 17. I have a 96 Mustang GT and had problems with my car sliding on wet days. When I bought the sz50 the car immediately had better steering and stopped in wet weather(a big plus) I think they are great and I even drove in snow last year and made it where I was going. I couldn't go ten feet the the BF Goodrich tires my car came with new. I recomend them highly for low cost and for wet and dry performance. I have 15,000 miles on them now and they still are in very good shape. I would say I have another 10 to 15,000 miles left on them. I am hard on them though and tend to take corners at high speeds that is why they are wearing(only on outside edges.

Strength:

Excellent dry traction, very good wet traction, quiet ride.

Weakness:

No complains so far (3 months of hard driving).

225/50ZR16 - bought 2 for $141 each on TireRack + $20 shipping. Local Firestone dealer wanted $178 and didn't want to hear about TireRack.

It's the best tire you're ever going to find if your #1 priority is GRIP. Sticks to the road like glue. About 100 times better then the Firestone SVX which I still have on the rear but don't care since the PROBE GT is a FWD.

Strength:

Very good dry traction, not bad in the rain when there's tread left, strong sidewalls, very good around curves.

Weakness:

They wear extremely fast even with no burnouts...I've had them for only about 10K miles and less than a year, and it's time for new ones. Don't buy these if it rains or snows a lot where you live; they are stricly summer type tires.

Paid $175 each at local Firestone dealer who matched TireRack's pricing. Total out-the-door cost including mounting and balancing and tax was $800 even. Will buy again.

Great tire, loads of traction compared to my old dunlops. Have not used in wet conditions yet but have heard from others they are great as they have loads of groves. Also heard from other users of the tres they have great tread life haven't owned them long enough but seems to be true.

Strength:

Excellent grip. Busted my rear end launching at the drag strip with these things when they were new. Almost no hydroplaning in the rain.

Weakness:

Large crack in the sidewall ended up killing a tire. I was very diappointed with the weakness of the sidewall.

These tires rock for dry traction! They are an excellent looking tire, and serve there purpose in the rain. I now have the Bridgestone Potenza RE730's. The Bridgestone Potenza RE730's hook just as good, don't hydroplane, and are cheaper. The Bridgestones have a 300 treadwear rating, and the Firehawks were 220, so I'm assuming I'll get more tread life out of the Bridgestones.

THE HANDLING, IT SURE IS ONE STICKY RUBBER AND IT IS VERY GOOD IN THE RAIN, GREAT TRACKTION.

Weakness:

ROAD NOISE, I THINK THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY REASON.

IT IS A GOOD TIRE IF YOU DRIVE HARD, IT STICKS LIKE GLUE TO THE ROAD SURFACE BUT IT IS KINDA NOISY SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUITE RIDE THIS WOULD NOT BE THE TIRE BUT PERFORMANCE, ONE GOOD TIRE,BUT IT DON'T LAST EITHER. IT TOOK ME SIX MONTH TO WEAR IT DOWN.I DO DRIVE HARD, SOME TRACK TIME TOO.

Strength:

These tires are awesome in the rain..that is why I bought them. Plus, they have outstanding grip!! A great daily driver tire!

Weakness:

A little pricey.

I went up in overal width of the tire because I wanted a larger contact patch and it was totally worth the extra money. (255/45/17)

Weakness? What weakness?

These tires are the best tires that I have ever purchased. They stick like glue and are cheap to buy. Very quiet on the road and the grip is incredible! These tires are rated better than the Kumho Excta and Sumitomo HRTZII. Absolutely the best buy in tires right now.
