Terrible wet weather traction...thank God for ABS and traction control! Without it, these tires would be up for recall! I've not been a fan of Goodyear since owning a 95 4Runner with them. Unfortunately, the Eagle RSA comes standard on the CTS, and while it is a good performer on dry roads, it is a very poor inclement weather tire. I have almost 10,000 miles on these tires and am now ready to replace them with 7/32s remaining on the tread. The rainy season is just starting here and these tires give you no sense of confidence when the roads are wet. Strong tendencies to hydroplane and quick to tramline on rutted/uneven roads and especially squirmy on steel bridge grids. Similar Products Used: Goodyear Wrangler LT |

The most concerning is the fact that my husband, myself or someone else could have been injured or killed when the tire seperated from the rim on Interstate 95 The BAD-year RSA was OEM on my 2003 Pontiac Grand Am. If you have these tires get rid of them. They are dangerous and should be recalled. My car is impeccably kept and the tires are rotated every 7500 miles. I only have 22000 miles on my car. We were coming back from a trip to FL when the rear tire literally seperated from the rim. My husband pulled over as fast as he could. Thank God we are alive to tell our story. The seperated tire actually passed us when we pulled over. The tire ripped the shroud and broke my side molding causing over $900 worth of damage. A tractor trailer hit the rolling debris and it flew in the air landing on 95 South. Thank goodness it was 2:00 am and not pm because someone else might have been injured. I went back to Pontiac and they said I would have to talk to GOODYEAR. Good year said without the rest of the tire they cannot prove the tire was defective. No one will take responsibility for my car. It sickens me because we do not abuse our cars. I think Goodyear KNOWs these tires are defective especially after reading these reviews. We do not drive this car hard and we were doing the posted speed limit of 70 mph. To those of you who say you do not have any problems I hope your luck holds out. As for me and my family we will never have another Good (bad)year tire. Similar Products Used: Michlin, Uniroyal |

Sidewall cracking, no backup from Goodtear/Volkswagen. Each blaming the other. These tires were OEM on the 2002 Jetta 1.8T Sport Package. Seems to be a widespread problem regarding the sidewalls. Seems the sidewalls a cracking and the tire begins to lose air as in a slow leak. As you add air to the tire to keep the pressure up to specs the matter gets worse. Finally you have a flat and Goodyear (dealers) don't seem to even want to acknowledge the problem. |

Wearing well, but making a loud grinding noise at low speeds. Turns out GM has a notice out because of the GG groove rubbing on the GT rims. Get in to the dealer BEFORE 36K miles to get new front ones. Then rotate and bring it in again to get the other two replaced. The GG grove looks like railroad tracks on the tire just at the rim lip. The notice number is 02-03-10-003, dtd 6/19/02. |

Way too many to list 1st off, I have had these as Factory installed tires on my 1995 VW Passat GLX VR6, 1996 VW GTI VR6, 1998 Audi A6 Avant Quattro and 2001 Audi A4 Quattro... I would not recommend this tire to anyone out there. This tire has been horrible on every car that I have had them factory installed on. The last straw was this past saturday in snowed just one inch of powder snow here in Chicagoland. Our 2001 Quattro has 25k on these tires and it was sliding around like I had slicks on the car. These tires on our quattro are absolutely terrible...Just a HORRIBLE tire Goodyear... Similar Products Used: Conti's, Dunlop, Pirelli |

nice ride on dry pavement.
Weakness:
lack of traction on wet roads almost unbelievable. Sliding stops common. poor snow tire...even when new. 4 wheel drive not much help with these tires on. Unexpected sudden and complete tire failure. At 15,000 miles, with good tread left and even wear, the wet road traction is terrible. Not only when accelerating from stop (spins), but extreme caution is required when coming to a stop sign...vehicle often slides. Even a relatively slow approach to an intersection may result in sliding. Just a touch of the accelerator from a standing start can cause tires to spin. And today, with no outward apparent damage to the tire, the right rear tire suddenly failed and deflated...fortunately was rounding a corner at slow speed. I hope there is some consideration in getting these tires replaced...but I must replace them. Similar Products Used: michelin |

My Eagle RSA's have 37,000 miles and need to be replaced. Don't know if this is normal mileage. I've consistently rotated the tires every 8k miles and they have even wear. I have also experienced one tire that can't hold air. Since these are the original tires, I can't compare performance to other tires. At this point, I am entertaining the idea of switching to a different tire. Similar Products Used: none |

Not worth the risk. These tires were on the 2002 Jetta my son bought. He is in the military and drives home (7 hours) regularly. His last visit, he had a flat, when the tire was taken off to be repaired, it was cracked all along the inside, after checking, all four tires were the same. Dangerous to be driving freeways often on tires you can't trust. Won't be putting this type back on. |
