Strength:

Smooth ride

Weakness:

Dangerous tread and belt separations. Possibly missing rubber layers over steel belts?

These were original on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab 4X4. After two years I had a sidewall bulge failure, Thought was just bad kuck, replaced the tire as the rest were good. before the tires were half way through life, steell belts were visible in the tread grooves leading to tread separation in two. The other two were OK so like a dope I bought two more after another 18 months a service guy at a tire dealer was walking by the truck and noticed the steel belts had separated and were sticking out of the side wall of one tire and BOTH that one and the one on the other side had severe tread separation. One was noticeably lop sided. I replaced all of them on the spot. Not worth my family's lives to run the rest for the remaining 70% of their tread life. I stick to the speed limit mostly and had not carried any heavy loads. You aren't going to want much load in my 1/2 ton 4x4 at highway speed anyway. Overall wet traction was poor and snow traction was so/so but the ride was smooth balloon like cushiony compared to the load range D tires I was used to on my old 3/4 ton GM truck.

Strength:

Good tread wear. Tires look almost new.

Weakness:

Terrible in the rain. Horrible road noise! It's like noise torture. Rides rough.

My truck came with Goodyear Wrangler RTS tires. I only have 19000 miles on them and it sounds like my front end is coming apart when I drive. The dealership says all 4 tires have flat spots. This is not possible when a vehicle is driven every day unless the tires are faulty. Ford says they are not under warranty and won't replace. I expected more from a tire with the name Goodyear on it. I will purchase Michelin when I replace.

Strength:

decent tread life

Weakness:

very slick on wet pavement

I was actually pretty pleased with the tread wear I have about 40k miles and they are looking like they need replaced although we have noticed some unusual flat spots on two of the tires. My biggest gripe is about the handling or lack there of in the rain,, I was blaming it on my Durango and my family was blaming it on my "lead foot" but reading the other reviews I think I'll get a different tire.

Strength:

Milage

Weakness:

traction in ice or snow isn't too good.

I have read some of the reviews on this tire and just can't understand why they aren't better. I do agree that they ride a little rough and don't do too well in snow and ice. However I am very pleased with the milage I'm getting. My truck is a 2003 Ford Ranger with over 97,000 miles on it and these are the same tires that came on the truck brand new. I don't think I'm going to have any trouble goinng a 100,000 because the tread is still pretty good. I've never got this kind of milage out of any tire. In fact I've always been satisfied if I could get 50,000 miles out of a set of tires. Most of my friends are amazed as I am, but I think some folks just don't believe it. But that's ok with me, because I know it's true and I also know that my next set of tires will be Goodyear Wrangler RT/S. I'd sure like to know if anyone else has gotten this kind of milage out of their tires.

Strength:

They hold air and keep the body of the truck off the ground

Weakness:

price, traction, wear, noise

I have had Three Ford Rangers, one with Firestone tires, one with Firestone wilderness AT's and these were swithced to Goodyear Wrangler RTS because of "the recall" (I stuck a hard Milkweed stem through the sidewall of the new goodyears)and now this one, a 2002 Ranger with 245 75 16's on it. I got 30,000 miles out of these only because I could not afford to replace them earlier. they made more noise than I expected, Traction in the the snow was less than good, I more offen than not had to put the truck in four wheel drive in light snow. I have had trucks most of my life and most have been 2 wheel drives I have yet to have traction problems like I have with these tires. Inspite of alignment checks, tire pressure, and rotation the tire cupped on the outside edges. I drive both on and off road. I find the response in these tires when reacting to rode hazzards moderate. Stopping in the wet isn't great. ( guess this problem isn't that bad, It makes me maintain more following distance in traffic) I feel that these tires are not up to the standards the I have come to expect from a tire company of Goodyears reputation. As for me I will not be buying Goodyear tires anytime soon as I have replaced mine with BF Goodrich tires

I was relieved when I read some of these reviews to hear that other people are having the same problems that I am. My Wrangler RT/S tires came with my truck but I was having problems with them after only a few months. I've put over 42,000 miles on them, but have had to put up with vibrations, spinning out under any condition, and odd wear patterns since the beginning. I am not impressed with these tires and will not replace them with the same brand.

Strength:

Looked good!

Weakness:

Poor wear. Cupping of tread. Terrible ride. Poor traction on wet roads.

A set of GY Wranglers came with my 2001 Ford Ranger Edge - they were terrible.Even with regular rotation they were cupping on the inside edge - at 35,000 miles they were shot. They were VERY easy to spin - performed acceptably in snow. The ride was terrible - lot's of vibration. I Even took the truck to dealer to see if something was wrong with it! Just bought a set of Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country. I won't buy the Wrangler again.

Your can spin the tires all the time. I was towing a 2500 lbs boat when the road was wet and going up a hill at 50 and the truck down shifted. The tires stated to spin. That a good strength.

Weakness:

Everything. Do Not buy these tires. Do not feel save driving in the rain. Very Very bad in rain. Almost all my driving is highway.

Wrangler RTS are junk They are cuping and the tire has flat spots. I have had the tires done at the shop evey 5000 mile and one alignment. I know that truck are not the best but they are not this bad. My dad has a 04 ranger with BFG tire They are great
