Dry road noise

Hmmm, don't see this brand listed even though it's been standard equipment on Jeep Grand Cherokees for a while. I have been very satisfied with the traction and wear on these GY Wranglers. I will probably get 60,000 miles from a 5 wheel rotation (so assume around 50k w/4 wheel?). 4WD Snow traction is excellent and wet has been good too. They are a bit noisy on dry roads. I don't really do offroading other than a few dry field drives. I will consider these vs Michelins this winter when it's time to buy new rubber.

Strength:

Looks.

Weakness:

Wet weather traction, off-road traction, skimpy tread.

My Goodyear RT/S tires are a decent tire. They perform well on the highway in dry weather, but don't instill any confidence on wet pavement. I have had many hydroplaning experiences in the rain, and that is just scary. I have taken them off-road, and they are okay but I have noticed that there is a good chance of getting stuck in mud or sand with these tires. The tires seem to pull to one side or the other in mud or sand, which isn't the greatest. Still, my overall concern is the wet weather traction, and even knowing how to respond, I was very scared.

TERRIBLE in rain. Fair in snow.

Very POOR in the rain. Hydroplanes VERY easily with little traction. Dry pavement OK. Replacing with Michelin Cross Terrains tomorrow. All driving is ON-ROAD and the Cross Terrain is designed specifically for that. Very high rated and quiet tire. We will see.

Looks good.

Weakness:

Tread wear is weak. Snow traction weak. Wet traction OK

I've had 2 OEM's on trucks and 1 OEM on SUV. Goodyear gets to put a greater % on "NEW" vehicles based on sales. Doesn't hurt that the Nascar boys run their sales figures way up. If Nascar used these Wranglers that would change, because I haven't run across a Wrangler that I liked. Looking for something now to replace at 30K.

Strength:

Durability, good looks and smooth highway ride with little noise...

Weakness:

Tendency to hydroplane at higher speeds.

My Toyota 4Runner came with Goodyear Wrangler RT/S's, and I have been very satisfied with their performance. The tires currently have 62,000 miles on them, and it appears that they'll last at least another 5 to 10 K before needing replacement. I can't understand the other poor reviews because, in my opinion, this is a GREAT, smooth-riding highway tire with decent off-road performance - just the thing most folks need.

Good traction for running down Ford sales and service managers.

Weakness:

A lot of problems. continuous vibration

These tires are a very poor quality. They slide VERY easy on a wet surface. Have taken my truck in 7 times to fix vibration, but still shakes. Ford dealership isn't making it easy. Stay away from FORDS!

Strength:

Only strength is they will keep you awake while driving from the noise and shaking.

Weakness:

Wearing is an issue and shaking and noise.

These tires by fAR are the worst tires I ever put on my truck. I have 15,000 miles on them and they are shot. By the first 6,000 the front tires were chopping out on the outside. I had did an alignment the next day of purchasing the tires. So I had the alignment checked again and the whole truck checked top to bottom and it was fine. So there is a defect in the tires. And my dealer wont replace them and goodyear wont do a thing either. And on the plus side of it all they shake and and make terrible noise while I drive and they have done this since purchase and my dealer still would not replace them. In my opinion Goodyear should owe me some money. And I had them rebalanced and checked by several different tire companys.

Now I purchased Uniroyal Cross Countrys and they are by far the best tire I have ever purchased. And I will not use another Goodyear in my life.

Poor wear, no wet or snow traction, poor customer service.

In my opinion, this is a poor tire. When I bought the truck, I was impressed that it came with Goodyear rubber on it. When snow fell, I found they had poor traction and had to use 4wd to climb slight grades. Put snows on for the winter and found a big difference. Noticed more wear than expected when I put snows on after 6 months use. RT/s began to scallop and became very loud. Dealer wouldn't do anything and said call Goodyear. Goodyear did nothing and said call Ford. Worn out and unusable with 24,000 kms (15,000 mi) Had the alignment checked twice and it was right on. Had dealer check all suspension components and all were ok.
