Handling in rain and packed snow.(Slippery).

I drive in rain and snow, mostly packed icy snow. I am dissapointed with the handling in rain and snow. May be the car but the maxima just doesn't seem safe enough to keep these 4-season radials in the winter.

Today, after only 8 months, the rear Right tire blew out while driving at approximately 110 kilometers after checking tire pressure prior to the Norther Alberta. After about 110 kilometers in a cold freeze, (-43C) motorists following me noticed me swerving and seen the tire blow and smoke up while I was trying to stabalize the car. I believe the tire has a warranty so I'll be ckecking on this tomorrow.

I bought my Nissan Maxima over a year and a half ago, it had 118,000kms on it and presently it has 136,000kms. When I bought the car it came with Cooper Lifeline SLE 225/50R17's. These tires are pretty amazing when it comes to performance, whether it be snow, ice, rain, and or dry pavement they manage to do what they were designed to do- "get us to our destination safely". Some of you may think otherwise and say that they aren't great tires for excessive speeds, or other road conditions like snow and ice. Out of the reviews on here for these tires I've noticed that some people feel that these tires aren't all that great. Well in the time that I've been driving on them, whether I be driving 210kph on the highway or 30kph in a playground zone I will trust these tires with my life.

Tires seem to wear and ride gets rough after just a few thousand miles.

One of the worst tires I have ever owned for wear. The road hazard is the only thing that has kept me in the tires, but they seem to wear and the tread gets rough ever 20,000 miles. Would never recommend to anyone that doesn't want to be constantly replacing tires. I put them on a car and then got them already on a car I bought. Same problem on both.

Stability, ride, good traction (no snow experience yet), price, attractive sidewall.

None noted yet. Time will really tell.

Put the 225/60 R16 on the wife's 04 Impala. Quieter and much better ride than the OEM Eagle GA's. Even she noticed a difference.

Probably not a true performance tire, but great for the average driver/car. Nice balance for the money and family needs.

Good all-round tire, delivering both excellent ride and handling characteristics at a very reasonable price. Definitely better than the Goodyear Eagle RSA's that the car came with.

Sidewalls aren't the most attractive

My '02 Grand Am GT is a dual purpose car; it's a midsized family sedan for family trips as well as a powerful, well-handling, fun-to-drive sports car for me to carve up some twisty back roads with. It came with Goodyear Eagle RSA's which were good but not great. I had good luck with Cooper Cobra GT's in the past, and the Coopers were $30-$40 cheaper than the Goodyears though still more expensive than some really cheap made-in-China unknowns which I would never trust my or my familys life with. Getting good quality tires for a reasonable price for my car is challenging enough due to the odd size: 225/50R16. Also, due to the capabilities of my car, they need to be V speed rated (up to 149 MPH).

These tires gripped better than the Goodyears ever did, exhibited much less noise, gave a noticably smoother ride, and are very responsive. I put them on before our family trip to the east coast and, as a touring tire, they offered a smooth, comfortable ride. When the roads got wet, they continued to grip exceptionally well. In a "Panic" stop on wet pavement, the ABS system hardly needed to do a thing when compared to the Goodyears, when the pedal would grind away. When I turn off the traction control, it's more difficult to get these Coopers spinning than it was with the Goodyears.

Upon examing the tread, I found there are two outer channels and two inner channels cut into the tread. The outer channels are 1/4 of an inch, while the innter channels are 1/8 of an inch. They ought to provide more than sufficient area which to channel away water, slush and snow which would help maximize this tire's grip.

I needed a tire that could function both as a touring tire for the family road trips, as well as something that had enough performance characteristics to keep me happy. On these two fronts, Cooper has delivered.

I bought all 4 from my favourite tire dealer, who offered an 80,000 mile warranty as well as free lifetime balance and rotation. To me, that's the best and safest way to go.

So far, I've put over 3100 miles on these tires. Time will tell if they stand up over the years, though I fully expect them to.

The Cooper tires were installed by the dealer as a CPO vehicle (205/55/16, T-rated only). The tires are ok but not great. They perform well on rain. I lost some feelback from the road but gained some ride comfort. I need to use excessive force to turn the steering wheel. The stopping distance is not good. It depends on what you are looking for. I need some good High Performance All-season (good handling in Summer and safe on light snow). I may switch to Kuhmo ASX.

Replaced OEM tires with these. Hard to find tires in the 225/50-17 size. Tire is quiet with a good ride and great in the rain. Good highway touring tire.

The tires were noticably quieter than factory Goodyear Eagle RSAs, ride was also greatly improved. Traction, wet and dry was improved.

No weaknesses experienced

Cooper Life Liner Touring SLE T rated is the best tire I have experienced in more than 40 years of buying tires. Price vs quality = excellent value.

Not as smooth at high speeds, at over 85 mph the Pirellis felt better, noise is slightly up as well.

Great in the wet,much better stoping power,sharp in the turns,great value with the warranty.As an all-round tyre it's a great deal, but if you are looking only for performance then look else where.
