This is my third set with over 30,000 miles on each set. It has exceptional wet and dry road holding. The sidethreads are too shallow causing the tires to prematurely wear before the inner treads are worn down. This is a product which I can fully endorse. Try it.

Strength:

Good in the rain.

Weakness:

Bubblegum sidewalls that no amount of air pressure can stiffen. Very poor.
When they give up traction in a corner (and they will), they give it up all at once.

I have no confidence in these tires. I drive like my grandmother now. Disappointing.

Strength:

Looks good. That's about it.

Weakness:

Soft, sloppy sidewalls. Sloppy handling in tight turns. Noisy as a jet engine at 60 mph. Poor wear life.

Soft sidewall, sloppy handling, poor heat resistance. This tire handles very poorly, with sidewall rolling and leaning in tight turns. Does not inspire confidence. Thre treadwear rating of 280 is clearly wrong, since they are 80% worn after only 12,000 miles. The temperature rating is wrong--they are noticeably hot to the touch after normal road driving on a cool day.

This is a junk tire that looks fancy. Don't believe the reviews planted all over the web. Simply buy them and you can return them for a full refund within 500 miles--it's a guarantee from Toyo if you buy through an authorized dealer. You'll see what slop they are, and bring them back for a full refund.

Strength:

Cornering, traction, looks.

Weakness:

Delivery wait time. Quality. Customer service. Warranty coverage. Steering wheel shake.

Purchased these tires after a blow-out on the original Goodyear tires. Waited +6 weeks for delivery while my car was down! The tires performed well, especially with cornering, but soon after installation developed a steering wheel shake around 50 MPH. Moved the tires around to try to eliminate the shake, but after re-checking the balance, found that the ground-force balancer couldn't balance them; the tires were bad. The dealer replaced all 4-tires, and after another lengthy wait for delivery, I had the same problem with the replacements! I received the replacements in the middle of Winter in Minnesota, and wasn't able to test drive until April. At that time the Toyo Rep informed the dealer that the tires were "out of warranty"!
Replaced the TOYOs with Dunlop SP9000 tires & I am very pleased with the ride of these tires. I still have a mild wheel shake around 50 MPH, which leads me to believe that the dealer's balance machine could be off, but the ride is MUCH better.
I will NEVER purchase TOYO tires again.

Strength:

Extremely grippy on dry pavement. Unreal wet weather traction. Awesome tire for fast drivers...

Weakness:

Kick up alot of road debris. A little noisy.

My civic has 16" Rotas, ground control coilovers and KYB AGX's. I have an aggressive driving style normally and have driven with these tires on dry/wet pavement and a little snow. These tires grip like no other in the dry with absolutely no tire squeal at the limit. The sidewalls are not stiff enough to offer a harsh ride, but definetly hold the car in the turns. Steering response is excellent. These tires combined with my suspension make my car very stable and confident in sharp turns. Wet weather traction is unreal. Though there is no audible warning as the tires lose grip at the limit, you can definetly feel it before the tires get loose. They kick up alot of debris from the road even at slow speeds because they are so sticky. The are also a little noisy but you quickly get used to it. I would definetly recommend these tires to anyone who drives aggressively and needs the grip. Grandma on the other hand would probably benefit more from a longer lasting tire.

A great tire. Ultra low profile on the side wall looks sleek and is tapered well. Is NOT ugly like other tires sidewalls. A great performer!! There are a few better tires out there for traction but they cost more, wear faster and have worse wet-weather performance. 255-40-17

205-35-18s are what i have and they are great. the ride is not as bad as people told me it would be. I would definetly buy these again. They handle well in turns and are great for the 1320 on the street or track.

Weakness:

The only complaint i have is the price. but like they say "If u wanna play u gotta pay"

Very good tire for street racers/ daily drivers. wet weater is not problem. even in the rainy weater of Louisiana. These tires are great in every condition. The Falkens i ran before this are no comparison.

These tires are great if you plan on driving the crap out of them. I am on my second set and I am ready to buy a third. They are a little on the expencive side. I just happen to get them at whole sale. You can only get about 15,000 miles out of them. But they are a great 15,000. I will purchase them again and again.

Wet traction is amazing compared to my 137 USD a piece michelin xgt v4 which are OEM tires in not the same class compared to toyo's t1s.I wanted a summer tire with ultra performance and wet weather performance and got that in the t1s's

Weakness:

Not as responsive as the michelins probably due to the sidewall being softer. But in no way similiar in performance.

This review is based on not much use but so far i am pleased with my purchase and would buy again cuz they make me feel safer. Wet or dry these tires are a performer. Tread is very soft. Traction is outstanding. Crazy tread design looks cool. Rim protector is also cool and useful.

Strength:

Soft tread material makes tires extremely grippy and fun to drive. Adversely effects life (as expected). Excellent wet and dry traction in all temperatures. Very fun to drive. Stick like velcro and give lots of confidence. Look very cool.

Weakness:

Snow, don't even try in a light, rear-wheel drive sporty car. Noise - not bad at first, but progressively worse as wear occurs. I'm replacing these tires with less than 20,000 because the wear indicators are starting to show on the inside half of all the tires and the noise at highway speed is starting to intrude to an annoying level. Directional design makes side to side rotation impossible. Even at the car's recommended inflation pressure of 29psi, the ride is stiffer than I'd expected. Take into account that I'm running modified suspension and 17" rims.

Alot of these reviews are from guys who just purchased. I'm ready to buy again, so thought I'd drop in a comprehensive review on the tires I bought about a year and a half ago. The odometer shows I've put on around 25,000 miles, but I run different all-season tires for about 4 months during the winter. Estimate I've got around 18,000 on these Toyos. Having just purchased 17" American Eagle rims from eBay, I just had to put new rubber on them. After extensive review (I'm funny that way), I decided to bite the bullet and get the Proxes T1-S tires to see what I was missing in the tire department. I'd already put Eibach lowering springs and GAB adjustable struts under the car, but had just been running BF Goodrich tires I picked up at the local shop. Well, now I understand why good tires are so important. I never really thought about it before, but they are the only part of a car that actually touch the road, so they can make a HUGE difference in performance. The Proxes with the 17" rims performed very well for cornering and in dry and wet conditions. I picked up the 215/45/17 size and they fit very well on this car. The rims and tires look great and fit perfectly into the wheel-wells of this model. Even near 20,000 miles, I still enjoy great wet weather confidence and traction. These are good tires 9 months out of the year in Southern Missouri. When the snow comes, I put on the old stock rims with M/S tires. There were a few issues I think worth noting and these are things I didn't really consider when originally purchasing. If you're running any kind of negative camber on the rear for cornering, a directional tire (like these Toyos) is going to show wear on the inside edges. This only applies to cars with independent drive axles (U or CV joints) on the rear, so solid axle owners buy with confidence. Second, the highway noise increase on these tires as they wear was unexpected. At first I thought it was an issue with my rear differential or transmission as I had recently addded new lube. Then, I put the winter rims and tires on and the noise went away! So, at least on this vehicle, the wear pattern or the natural aging process makes the Proxes tires develop a dull whine that is increasingly annoying as the tires age. Overall, if I would buy these tires again if I was putting them on a high performance car with solid rear axle and planned to replace every 10,000 - 20,000 miles.
