Strength:

Stiffer than the OEM and cheap.

Weakness:

Can't really say, I have not use any other brand to compare this with.

It's like night and day compared to the OEM. This is much stiffer than the OEM which I like. The tires is always glued to the road no matter how wide of pot holes I hit, it's like riding my truck.

Strength:

Better ride/handling over stock

Weakness:

Not made for extreme lowering

I have these paired up with Ground Control's. When I first installed them I had the GC's dropped the full 2.5" and is road horrible. I then raised it about 1.25" and it's rides FANTASTIC. I wouldn't lower a car more than 1.5" with these struts.

Strength:

Good improvement over stock

Weakness:

Not good with drop springs or coilovers. Better for use with stock springs. KYB has warranty for it, but its void if u drop the car lower than 1.5"

I bought these shocks along with some coilovers thinking that i would have a good ride. I did but it was only for a couple of weeks. The fronts leaked and the back soon followed. It was an improvement over stock, but it just wasnt cut out to be with drop springs of any kind.

Strength:

Firmer then OEM sturts Handles 1.6'' drop fine

Weakness:

Could be a little bit more stiff, but go with Tokico if that's what you want

Well going in I had my mind set on Tokico. However they were back order and was told the KYB GS-2 where very compariable. I have a 1.6'' drop on my solara and the car is very comfortable. These struts are a good mix between a very stiff "race" type feel and soft comfort ride. I was worried their quality wouldn't match Tokico, but after driving on them for 6 months and hitting Chicago pot holes they have done just fine

too soft, can''t hold springs

not too much difference with stock shocks. it''s cheaper than tokico blue. quality is fine. i team up with H&R race, not recommanded combo, these shocks cannot hold the springs too well, wll suggest save more money and get KYB AGX or Koni. wait til'' it''s busted, then get koni yellow

Great Handling...

Weakness:

Not good with HP Racing Coil Overs in the suburb areas...(city streets)

I have the GR-2 Gas struts...the rears are "very" stiff which I like...but the front struts are already blown, I have HP Racing Coil Overs... Im goin to switch to Tokico for the front end suspension...The first week of having these struts were the best..I had the best handling (also had strut bar) after messing up the front struts..I still have better than stock handling...thats why Im not makin a big deal about buyin new struts soon

Strength:

Price, 100% identical to OEM(easy install), Price only in a way.

Weakness:

TOO soft, not good for pairing with ANY lowering springs.

I have 2 struts(F) + 2 shocks(R) + H&R sport springs combo. KYB struts are WAY stiffer than the 7 year old OEM front struts but the rear shocks are about the same. The car actually rides better overall(handling+comfort) with H&R springs. The only problem is that the car bounce way too much which can make you car sick even as driver. It could be the stiffer springs but I''m pretty sure the strut+shocks are too soft even for 1 inch drop.

Strength:

Ride was a little more disrupted than stock on hard bumpy roads--but genereally comfortable for the 4 monthsthey actually worked..bouncy ride but expected from cheap shocks.

Weakness:

they have a life of only a few months..garbage...

To keep a long story short. I had these replaced after 7 months. I noticed my car leaning to the left drastically and driving completely different from left to right turns. Both left shocks had BUSTED!! after only 7 months of easy driving on Eibach Pro Kits! Avoid these at all costs--they are cheap in price and really CHEAP in quality
