Strength:

solid feel, quick response, feels safe and secure even in hard cornering at low and high speed. great value will not be dissapointed.Great for every day driving

Weakness:

people that are used to a street racing type shock like a toxico might not be impressed.

The kyb gr2 is an excellent replacement shock for a maxima. I knew i needed shocks my car was all over the place they were not leaking but had become soft.I took the car to a performance shop and they recommended the KYB GR2s. I specifically told them i wanted a good ride with the capability of hard cornering. When i got the car back i was floored by the performance the car corners like its on rails and is very stable at high speeds. Also has a very quick response. If your looking to improve your stock shocks these are the ones.

Strength:

Good smooth ride and very cheap!

Weakness:

Rear washers broke but were easily replaced.

These struts are perfect for me. I ride on ground-control coilover sleeves with a 1.5" drop and have ridden on 215/40/16 tires and stock tires. The ride is smooth and the handleing is great for my style of driving. I dont race, but I try to take corners as fast as possible sometimes. When they were first installed, the washers broke on BOTH rear struts, causing part of the strut to stick up inside my trunk. We replaced with new washers and they have been great ever since. I don't know if I was just sold a old set through ebay or it was the struts fault. No damage was caused by this though.

Strength:

Lifetime warranty, nice price, will handle drop of no more than l.5 inches and still be covered by warranty, offer a ride comparable if not better than stock.

Weakness:

NONE

I did a lot of research on these shocks when paired with Eibach Pro Kits. I found mixed reviews and so decided to pair the two together to form my own opinion. The ride is great. Every body that has ridden in my car has stated that the ride is better than stock. The shocks are stiff but comfortable when paired with the Eibach Pro kit springs. The performance of the shocks is better than stock even after installing 18 inch rims. I would suggest this shock to anybody that wants a shock that is stiffer than stock and don't want ride quality to suffer. This shock also WILL handle a slight drop of 1.5 inches or higher as KYB recommend. They also have a liftime warranty even if lowered, but can't be lowered more than 1.5 inches. I would definitely purchase these shocks again.

Model Reviewed: NIssan 240SX

Strength:

Good auto-adjusting feature, nice shocks for cornering (especially in lighter cars), rides over bumps nicely but not big dips.

Weakness:

Heard they die out when slamming your car. I'll swap 'em out for manual adj shocks when I lower it.

The 240SX is one of many cars that come stock with these. Despite my car's high ride height and soft OE springs, these shocks are great, if not tolerable. Combined with fairly new tires allows for full use of their potential. I attack every corner I come across in my daily driving. These GR2s allow for proper weight transfer due to their auto-adjusting feature and they really adapt to driving conditions. I literally stood on my bumper and the car only dropped 1-2.5 inches (I weigh around 150 lbs). Overall the GR2 is good for those aiming for fun or normal driving. If I wanted to keep my 240 in stock form, I would just replace the shocks with new units. They also work great on mountain roads

Weakness:

Very little damping. Short life.

These things are terrible. The first set dumped the oil out after about a year and the replacement set that I had to pay for pogo almost as bad as the blown out ones. The Gas-A-Justs I have on the front are great.

Gas-A-Just shocks. I wouldn't call them similar since they work great.

Strength:

None on the TR6 rear suspension.

Weakness:

Very little rebound control.

I'm using these on the rear suspension of my TR6 with stiff springs and not happy. These GR-2's provide almost no rebound damping and the car bounces up and down on the highway. Poor for my application not recommended.

Strength:

Good for that true road handling feel.

Weakness:

Uncomfortable for average driver. Need to slow down alot for every dip or speed bump, trying not to flex/shock the whole car.

Installed all around with Intrax lowering springs (1.75in drop). The KYB made the suspension really stiff and bumpy. Could feel every bump, pot hole, rock on the road. But, better handling and cornering. Maybe would be better used with stock springs. It all really depends on your preference. For daily driver too stiff, but when I go all out on cornering or hard acceleration, fully recommend!
