Tokico Premium Performance Shocks Shocks

Tokico Premium Performance Shocks Shocks

DESCRIPTION

TOKICO Premium Performance shock absorbers (aka "Tokico Blues") have a number of features not found in other shock absorbers. These features allow TOKICO shock absorbers to provide a superior combination of handling, stability, and ride quality.

  • Piston Rod Guide with Teflon® coated bushing for minimal dynamic friction and good piston-rod life
  • Hardened, chrome-plated, and micro-polished piston-rod for long seal life and smooth operation
  • Twice drawn over mandrel pressure tube. Concentricity provides good sealing and minimal dynamic friction (drag)
  • The heart of Tokico's shock absorber is their unique piston design. Tokico's multi-stage variable aperture sandwich valve system with its precision plates and precise orifice control, allows a flexibility of damping control not found in other shocks.
  • Tokico shock oil is specially compounded for resistance to breakdown and minimal viscosity change regardless of temperature.

Strength:

Hmmm?

Weakness:

Shoddy product. Terrible customer service

Greatest disappointment of any aftermarket component I have ever used on my car.

Had both rear struts fail while driving at interstate speed. Made for a very pulse pounding and dangerous ride back home.

Company and distrubutor (RMS) gave me a ton of grief in order to get them to honor the warranty. Whole process took over seven weeks and cost me what I was refunded in phone calls and shipping. I recommend you not use eihter company, I know I never will again.

Stiff as heck

Weakness:

Maybe too stiff & unadjustable

Good shock, performs tight with skunk2 coilovers. Might be too stiff for the stupid bumps in the road though. I've had a lot of impact breaks as well but that is the price for PERFORMANCE.

Strength:

It feels like stock, real smooth. The cornering improves dramatically...and the drop is just perfect.

Weakness:

None so far...

I just got the Tokico HP strut/springs kit installed. I noticed a significant difference over stock. Yes it gets bumpy on rough roads, but what do you expect? If you're careful and whatnot, there shouldn't be a problem. But the overall ride is nice and smooth, feels like stock. Cornering is flawless with no body roll. Very nice setup in my opinion, definitely a good investment thus far. The drop was just right, not too low, nor too high (-1.5 to 1.75"). My civic just looks real clean with it.

stock...nice and smooth, but like all stock suspensions, they're never low enough...

Strength:

Smooth ride

Weakness:

Price, color, and depends on how long they last.

Ride is pretty smooth(w/ 2" neuspeed drop springs). It almost feels like it has its stock suspension. Well, that's just my opinion.

Strength:

good cornering

Weakness:

bouncy, bouncy, bouncy

Damn! Bouncy! I have tokico hp/tokico spring setup. I bought them as a set since most of the reviews were nice. The ride is very very bouncy, especially the front. I don't call this ride harsh or stiff. Spent about 3hrs installing this and very disappointed. I'll be removing the parts soon and try different set up. It lowered about 1.5"F and 1"R. I think the problem is the shocks. I should get Illumina's.

none for this car. Tried Koni, Bilstens, KYB with cut springs,on my past cars and I was fairly satisfied.

Strength:

Cheap price!

Weakness:

Not good for lowered vehicles.

I have been rolling with Neuspeed Race springs for for 5 years with these struts. I would not recommend these struts with Neuspeed Race springs. Your ride will be very harsh. However, the car will corner really well at first.
