Model Reviewed: 3.2 TL with spoiler & splash gaurds

Strength:

Engine, transmission Honda, Acura reputation Driving comfort Headlights and fog lights can light up a city block they are so bright

Weakness:

Add-ons like spoiler, splash gaurds, moonroff visor seem to be more expensive than other car makers. Requires premium gas. I do get some radio interference when cell phone rings. Need more wood grain inside to break up all black interior. Needs to have a fold down rear seat. Need to have a full size spare tire.

I have had this car for 3 months now and I love it. I think the best looking car out there in this price range. I looked at a lot of other cars and priced them with all the options on the TL and they where all more expensive by at least 2 grand. You get a great deal for your money. Everybody that has seen it loves it. The only problems I seem to have are. I get some water coming through the seal on the moonroof when it rains but it has a big metal tray that catches it all and lets it drain through the sides. Also after fueling up the car does not start on the first try sometimes. Does anyone else have this problems? Other then that the car is wonderful I would tell anyone looking for a near luxury car to buy it.

Model Reviewed: Acura TL 3.2 Type S

Weakness:

TRANSMISSION BLEW AT 5 MONTH MARK. TECH TOLD ME THAT TYPE S IS KNOWN FOR POOR TRANSMISSION. THIS ONE IS COVER UNDER WARRENTY, BUT ONCE IT HAPPENS AFTER 50,000 I WILL HAVE TO SHELL OUT $5,000. ANYONE WANT TO BY AN ACURA TYPE S!!!!!!!

The first 4 months I owned this car I loved it. I liked the 260 horsepower on the freeway. Very quick car. I do alot of driving back and fourth to work so it was an improvement to what I was driving before. Anyway 5 months into this car my transmission needed to be replaced. I talked to the tech. on the side and he told me that the Type S 260 horse powered engine is too much for the transmission. I wish I would have known this before I purchased car!!!!!!!

260 horsepower!! Fast!! sport shift Great value Oh yeah, did i mention hugggge trunk! Geeh, You can fit five more passengers in there!

Weakness:

Long braking distance

Yeah! I finally got my first car! Although I got this car for less than a month, I''''m very please with the performance. First of all, the power of this car is amazing. I can''''t seem to obey the speed limit law, the car just want to go. Nice exterior and interior design although the interior could use a bit of room. The audio is better than i expected. It produces good bass when you set the bass up, but i only use on the 4th level. My favoraite features gotta be the pull out armrest. This is very cool considering you drive on your left and rest your right arm on it. And also the xenon headlights on this thing. Very bright and clear. The wheels are good although i prefer 6 spokes and 18"+ rims. The gas milage on this car is also great. I can go about 200 miles and the guage still 1/6 full. I didnt get the one with navi because it''''s two thousand dollars more plus tax. Why bother, just buy a $5 map and hit the road! Before buying this, my brother and I went to look at the infiniti G-35. Wow! this car is a great car with tremendous power(260 horses). The engine is a bit loud when accelerate but it''''s a powerful sport car. The interior is good but in the back is too cramped up even with the adujustable back seat. After we done test driving it, we went to the sales office and talk about the price. The one I want with the premium and winter package is $34000. I asked the salesguy if he can drop it a little. The guy said "no that''''s the final price!" He said Infiniti only want to sell it certain people who can afford it(i''''m only 18, the guy prbably think i can''''t pay for it.) I was pissed off and left. A few weeks later after I bought my Tl-s, the guy called and said He can sell the one in the showroom for $30000. I was like "helll no" I got my type s already and its great!

Strength:

Weakness:

Poor Poor Audio Reception Noisy, can feel the road when compared to ES300, Infiniti Q45, TownCar or Cadillac Deville. Attribute the problem to the tires. Does anybody know if we can put thicker tires on the same when it is time to replace the same ? I mean more rubber. Also I hate when people compare it to an Honda/Camry or Maxima !

Recently bought a 99 TL with Navi from a private seller. It is a silver with black interior. It seems that I have got a very good deal as the dealer will not let go of a similar car for less than 22k. It has around 35K miles on it and under warranty till early 2003. My first pre-owned car. Also my first Japanese (Made in US though) car. Bought it to get a good resale value. So far so good. But you all know how it is when you buy a pre-owned car. You are always (atleast initially) skeptical about it. Also I am extremely disappointed with the Radio Reception. Why did they ship the car with such poor audio reception ? I realized it only after I bought the car. I would have driven almost all expensive and non-expensive American cars, but non had that problem. Why integrate the antenna in the rear window glass (duh ?) Does anybody know how to fix the radio problem. I love to listen to the radio. Can somebody send me an email at jigsboy@yahoo.com and let me know. Also I am planning to buy extended warranty on this vehicle. Better safe than sorry. Who would you recommend ? I mean an Acura dealer or on-line ? How much should you get it for ? Also I got confused with the features after test driving so many different cars. I thought this car had memory seats and dual climate control. But I guess not. But nevertheless, I am happy about the car''s loaded features. The Nav system is great. Something different to cheer or feel good about. So far, I like what I hear about the 3.2 TL. That makes me feel good. Thanks.

Strength:

1. Honda''s legendary build quality & reliability!! 2. stong acceleration for a natural aspirated engine (exhilerating Type s version) 3. Quite, comfortable travel 4. LONG, LONG list of standard equipment 5. Perfect handling. (get the type s if you are a daredevil :) ) 6. Spacious interior. I''m 6''4", and the car can fit five people of the same dimensions as me, with ease!! 7. Fuel efficient! 8. Good price

Weakness:

1. Panoramic windshield takes some getting used to.

The Acura TL is the best selling car in its class. In fact Acura has had one terrific sales year after another. There is only one reason for this, and that is: BUILD QUALITY!! This is also the reason why IMPORTS in general, are light years ahead of american cars!! With that said, the TL is SPACEOUS, LUXURIOUS, and has very good pick up!! When on the highway, the interior is a tomb!! You don''t hear or feel anything going over all those bumps, and you also forget the car has an engine, because of the noiseless, refined perfection called the 3.2liter sohc engine!! The car has excellent gas milage too! There is a button in this car, for every concievable operation!! AUTO EVERYTHING PEOPLE!! ON A SIDE NOTE: I was looking at the infiniti G35, before I purchased my acura. drawn in buy the tv ads, I went to FEILD INFINITI of glenview, IL. THESE PEOPLE WERE TOTAL JERKS!!! THEY IGNORED ME, AND MY MOM, AND SERVED OTHER CUSTOMERS FOR AN HOUR!! FINALLY I WAS FED UP AND WENT INTO A G35 ON DISPLAY, AND STARTED TO PLAY AROUND WITH THE BUTTONS, AND HONK THE HORN(TRYING TO BE OBNOXIOUS) THEN THE SALESMAN APPROACHED ME, AND WE TALKED ABOUT THE CAR. THE WHOLE TIME, THE SLIMEBALL ACTED LIKE I WAS TOO LOW CLASS TO EVEN BE IN HIS STUPID DEALERSHIP!! I LEFT FUSTRAITED AND INFURIATED!! THEN I WENT TO MC GRATH ACURA, AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! THEY TREAT YOU LIKE A HUMAN BEING AND ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO LET YOU TEST DRIVE THE CARS, OR PLAY WITH THE ONES ON DISPLAY TILL THE COWS COME HOME!! IF YOU WANT AN INFINITI, GET ONE, BUT DON''T GO TO FIELD INFINITI IN GLENVIEW, ILLINOIS!! THEY ARE RETARDED

Strength:

Power, sport shifter, looks, Nav system and all the standard features.

Weakness:

Head room and needs a telescopic steering wheel. Also wish the steering wheel adjusted automatically with the memory system.

Just love the power and looks of this car. Have only had the car for four days now and couldn''t believe the 03''s were out already. Comes with many features that are all standard. I''m glad I opted for the Nav system and am still learing how to use it.. Was going to go with the Type S, but my wife complained too much about the seat belt digging into her hip. I do wish it had a little more head room for my 6-4 size. I can adjust the seat to accomodate me, but anyone seating behind me will suffer.
