My first NEW car. Traded in my ''97 TL for it. I LOVE this car. Lots more power than my ''97 2.5 TL. Very quiet interior. None of the noise Iv''e read in reviews of it''s 2002 predessor. Hard to keep this car within the 60/mph speed limit on the highway...she wants to GO!

Strength:

Tons of standard features and power. Looks okay

Weakness:

I have 55k miles and I am on my third transmission. There is a widely known problem with the transmissions, but Honda won''t issue a recall. I am so mad. Everything rattles, brakes are warped, radio is crappy, NAV system is below Lexus or Infiniti NAV systems. Acura has flopped on this car. I have been back and forth to the dealership to get things fixed. The TL has fake leather also. This is the last Acura product I will every buy. I am now looking at the MaximaI35G35 and ES300.

This car is crap!!!!!!!! Don''t buy!!!!!!!! The car does come with tons of features standard, but don''t fall into this trap.

Weakness:

Car is plagued with interior noise. WIndshiled has been reseated twice, arm-rest has constant rattles, sunroof leaks, seatbelts squeak, AC vents buzz and other countless interior gremlins.

The interior noises and rattles are ridiculous. The car has been to the dealer 3 times in 2 months for interior noise problems that just keep coming back. Save the extra money and buy a Lexus. This is my secons Acura, my 11-year old integra is a great car, my 2002 TL-S a HUGE disappointment.

Strength:

Ride, handling, long list of standard feature.

Weakness:

Transmission failure not once but twice in 120000 km. Poor resale value - there''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s tons of them out there to choose from when buying a used one.

Purchased new in May 1999, it offered plenty of value for the money compared to the competition. Lots of standard features and plenty of smooth power out of the V6. However, the first transmission went at 55k, and again at 120k. Apparently there were some problems with the 4-speed auto in the 99 model year. I sold it privately recently, as the trade value at 133k was 16-17k, which was more than a 50% drop in value!! Don''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''t be misled by the salespeople at the dealership - this car doesn''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''t hold it''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s value as well as an Accord, yet costs much more.

Strength:

Power, handling, tightness. This car cruises quietly and effortlessly down the highway at illegal speeds.

Weakness:

Fake leather seats (pleather?) - I''ve always wanted leather seats but I''d take cloth over these seats anyday. It''s not fair to make buyers think they have leather seats when all we get are a couple of dinky inserts. Buyer beware! No folding rear seat.

Great car! This car is fun to drive with few weaknesses. It''s probably the best value for the $. I spent a year driving and reading about the competition and it''s tough to find a car that gives what the TL-S gives for close to the same money. I find the stereo ok, not like most of the other reviewers but I guess it''s all relative.

Strength:

Value, confort, ride, and style.

Weakness:

My biggest complaints to make this car perfect for me would be a little more head room, tighter handling, and more character in the rear end design. Also, I would like to see a little higher end material used inside the car.

I''ve had this car about 3 months. I test drove the TL and the TL type S. I went with the TL because I prefer a quieter ride and there is a noticable difference. And I felt the regular TL has plenty of power for my needs. I ordered it in the metalic grey with black interior and wood trim. Very pretty. (I felt the black/grey trim pieces looked awfull). The car is quiet with little wind noise and almost no road noise. I think the stereo is slightly above average, but not great. I love the navigation system. I wasn''t sure about paying the extra 2 grand, but it is a modern miracle. You cannot get lost with this thing and if you want to go somewhere on the spur of the moment, odds are it will be in the menu. The car is easy to drive, handles well, is very confortable with very good seats. As everyone always mentions, there is nothing out there with all this car has for a similiar amount of money. Throw in the Acura/Honda reliability and it is a tremendous value. Handling is pretty good, although not as crisp as the German cars. Gas milage has been averaging around 24 mpg.I''m very happy with my choice.

Strength:

Strong performance. Stiff ride is expected.

Weakness:

Noises, noises, noises. I''ve have some quality issues with mine. One of the wood trim in the center console had to be replaced because it kept coming loose. Seat belt squeaks. The weather seal on the top rear corner of the driver had to be replaced (was not sealing out the wind noise properly). These two problems were addressed by the dear but I''m still having problems with the weather seal again after 2 months. Rear right deck rattles seemed to start rattling (pretty minor at this point). Right door has some ticking. This is just pretty disappointing. Noises (that are not designed to have) is one of my pet peaves. I had strongly considered a Lexus but cost was too high for the GS430. Oh well, I''ll keep returning to the dealer. Hope one day all me noises will eventually be resolved. Maybe my car was assembled on a friday.

Price includes the under body kit.Great performing car. I just have a few complaints.

Strength:

Reliability, ride, handling, engine, size (the perfect family car for a long trip), features, price. Almost everything. It is a remarkably well-balanced package, excelling at everything. Although no single feature could be considered "best of breed", the car''s cross-the-board strength makes it the clear winner in its class.

Weakness:

I have only one real compliant. The paint is not up to the quality of the rest of the car. Small scratches and swirls showed up the first time I waxed the car, and the imperfections have only become worse over time. It doesn''t help that the car is black... Aside from that, my complaints are minor. For example, I wish that the moonroof controls were centrally mounted. I wish the 2000 model had memory seats. I wish the audio was better (I think seperate tweeters would have made a big difference). I wish it handled like a 5-series BMW...

The best value luxury car on the market. It is, in many ways, the Ultimate Accord (and I mean no direspect by that!) It is powerful, comfortable, and quiet; It handles predictably and well; It is stone reliable; It has nearly every amenity a driver could want; It is pleasantly but unambitiously styled (the exterior, that is - I think the interior is nearly perfect in its way). It oozes quality. I drove them all, and this is the car.

Strength:

Competitively priced against other comperable vehicles, such as Lexus and BMW. Great navigation system. Semi-manual sportshift!!!!!!!

Weakness:

No REAL "weaknesses." "Weaknesses" vary based on personal needs or likes and dislikes. For instance, if you''re tall, you''ll say needs more head room.

Excellent car all the way around. Reliable, comfortable, strong, fast, responsive, many standard features, wheel/tire/suspension package is awesome, great overall package/value. You got to test drive this baby to get the full effect of the car. So get off your rump and haul ass to your nearest Acura dealer.
