Strength:
Power, BOSE sound system, terrific ride, the list goes on and on......
Weakness:
Better categories on NAV system I love this car, it is the best I have ever owned. It has great power and has been almost maintenance free (except oil changes). The car has a very smooth ride for long or short trips, hard to beat. This car is the BEST value for a luxury car under $35K. Strength:
Powerful engine, smooth running, reliable, comfortable interior, roomy trunk, great sound system, soft leather, fit and finish, solid car.
Weakness:
No fold down rear seat. I have owned this car since Dec of 99. It has been flawless. Powerful, smooth, quiete and reliable. Haven't had any problems with it. You can load this car with 5 adults and a trunk full of gear she still drives and handles perfect. |

Strength:
Very smooth engine with very wide powerband. Excellent transmission in auto or Sport Shift mode. Very comfotrtable seats. Neutral steering feel very balanced car. Smooth ride. Nice stereo. I finnaly have a car again that I love to drive.
Weakness:
Very and I mean VERY picky about what kind of gas not only the grade. I traded my 98 Accord for the TL I sell Honda and I would tell customers that the TL was not worth the extra money. I thought I could be equally happy in an Accord. Now that I own a TL I am very glad I made this choice. Every part of the car is a little better when you add them all up it makes the TL a much better car than the accord. It seems like the sum of all the parts is greater than the whole. In also really like the capabilities of the Sport Shift. Sport Shift makes engine braking much better and gives me the ability to come out of corners much harder and makes the quarter mile much more fun. I did regret only having the four speed auto but after hearing all the potential problems with the five speeds I am glad to have it. One thing I do believe is that the transmission thing is being blown way out of proportion. It is a very limited number of cars affected and Honda extended the warranty on cars that weren't even in danger of having a problem so I am sure the ones that are affected are covered. Strength:
Styling, performance, Honda/Acura dependability.
Weakness:
None so far. Bought this car for my wife on Valentines Day 2002 and she loves it! Plenty of power and superb ride & handling. We are however very concerned with potential Trasmission problems although @ 18,000 miles we've had no problems. Similar Products Used: 91 Honda Accord, 97 Pontiac Grand Prix |

Strength:
IT'S POWERFULL, FAST, SPORTY ,AND HAS ALL OF THE BELLS AND WHISTLES.
Weakness:
COULD HANDLE A LITTLE BETTER. I PURCHASED MY ACURA TL OCT. OF 2001. I HAVE PUT OVER 40K MILES ON IT WITHIN A YEARS TIME AND IT HAS NOT SKIPPED A BEAT. IT RUNS JUST AS IT RAN WHEN I BROUGHT IT. IT NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME. Similar Products Used: THE MAXIMA IS SIMILAR BUT THE DISTANCE FROM NISSAN TO ACURA IS SIGNIFCANT. THE V6 ACCORD ALSO DOES NOT COMPARE, AND I SHOULD KNOW I SELL USED CARS FOR A LIVING. |

TL Type-S w/NAVI
Strength:
Lots of power - Handles great - smooth ride - NAVI is fantastic (glad I got it) - Lots of gadgets - Great mileage on the highway - extremely easy to change the oil
Weakness:
Premium fuel - right windshield wiper does not stand up straight (one thing I got used to owning Hondas) - driver's seat does not go low enough (and I'm only 5'9") - glove box too small (owner's manual barely fits in it) - concerned with possible transmission issues, since I received my notice from Acura I have owned only Hondas since 1982, so when I decided to purchase a new car, I did my homework and decided to look at and test drive the TL. I Purchased my Noble Green 2002 TL Type-S w/NAVI at Clinton (NJ) Acura in November 2001. They are a great dealership, and they treated my wife and I very well. For a car this size, the fuel mileage, on the highway, is fantastic. On several occasions, I got over 30 mpg (twice I got 33.5 mpg). Mileage varries per brand name (Mobil, Citgo, and Texaco, in my experience, are the best). I now have 12K on it and it has been trouble free. Similar Products Used: 4 Honda Accords, 1 Honda Civic |

Strength:
The TL provides a tight , comfortable ride. Acceleration is superb. Interior noise is minimal.
Weakness:
Thin exterior Paint.Weak plastics to some interior parts. Overall the interior needs to be raised up one notch in the luxury level. After 18,000 miles the TL has performed well. The ride , handling and acceleration are excellent.Car comes nicely equipped. The vehicle is a pleasure to drive. The service at Acura of Valley Stream is Courteous & Professional. Overall for a vehicle around $30,000 it is a smart buy for the money. |

Weakness:
trany, fuel economy, I liked the car but it's defenetley not what I expected. Fuel economy is very poor(10-12mpg). Shaking and rattling, I took it to the dealer and he came up with excuses for the poor performance but nothing more than that. The transmission is not great. If anyone has an idea of what to do please post something or e-mail me. |

Strength:
Good acceleration, solid feel, nice styling, wide windshield, super bright xenon lights.
Weakness:
Not to much leg room in the rear, lacks telescoping steering column, no fold down split rear seats. Aslo vibration noise from the moonroof if the sunshade is open. I have had my TL for almost4 years now and already reached over 90,000 Km. My TL still rides good. Overall for the price the car is not bad at all just a few minor things. |

Strength:
Strong engine, good pick-up.
Weakness:
See above. The car is proving to be less than reliable, and therefore a disappointment. The left bearing went at 28K, the rotors went at 35K, and the transmission went at 50K. Rattles, squeaks and wind noise around windows are annoying. I wanted a car to last for a long time, but after 2+ years I'm looking for another car (but it probably won't be an Acura). |
