Just got it about 2 weeks ago. I ordered it in Aug of 2004. Just like a new born it was finally delivered in 9 month. I love this car. Well worth the wait.So if you ordered it and the dealer tells you that they infiniti started making the Coupe 6MT's late in the year it's true..I checked with a few other dealers during the 9 month's. I'm still in the break in period but 'O MAN' she wants to go fast. The handling feels like I'm on rails. Car pulls in every gear even 6th. Can't wait until I get over the first 1000 miles and I can really get busy.

Ok, so it's a 2005, and I don't have it yet, but I will in July! I ordered it already and i'm sooooo excited. I got the Athens Blue/ Graphite interior with Pr pkg, and aero pkg. It's going to be my first really nice ride, being that i'm 23. I was set on this car from the moment I saw it. My boyfriend had a Z, and this drives so much better than that. You can never turn a sports car into a luxury car, but you can turn a luxury car into a sports car. This thing has everything! I'm interested to find out if they have indeed got the kinks out of the car that i've read about. So far, I haven't seen anybody with an 05 yet. The bump in HP to 298 is very exciting. I've only test driven the auto, but plan to be even more impressed with the stick. Also plan on putting cool-air intake and exhaust on it, with dust-free brake pads (i'm guessing those are going to help from what i've heard). Once I actually get it, i'm sure i'll have more to write, mostly positives i'm guessing!!! I can't wait!!

Engine, Engine, Engine, Nissan bulletproof 3.5L V6 is the best 6 cylinder engine you can buy. Handle and looks just ramp up the package.

Weakness:

I only had one problem with my G35, the actuator for the gas lid cover malfunctioned and it would not open regardless if the doors were unlocked and you cannot manually open the gas lid cover because there is no manual release and to try and pry it open will damage the vehicle. This was very inconvenient when I was on Empty at 1:00am on Route 55 and could not put any gas in my G35. I called Infinti 24hr service and they recommended to have the car tow to the nearest dealer. But after locking and unlocking the doors for almost 30 minutes I got it to open for the last time before I had to have the actuator replaced under warrantee. My advise to avoid this Infinti; install a manual release for the gas lid cover.

I have owed a number of various types of vehicles and this is my first luxury sports car. First, its beautiful to look at. Second, it handles as good as a Z and rides ten times better and with the back seats folded down you have more than enough space for luggage for 2; and when there up its more space than you would expect for a sports car. I love the NAV option, easy to use. This is one great car.

2003 Desert graphit, auto., Prem. pack., Navigation, wheel package. Purchased with 7,000 miles. What can I say. I still look forward to going to get milk in this car. I love looking at it as well. I am a big fan of this car, granted it does have it's imperfections in build quality and dash materials, these don't change my opinion of this car in the least. The performance is breathtaking, sharp and crisp. Both acceleration and braking are thrilling. The handeling characteristics are exceptional and well balanced. The car is very predictible and consistent. I feel confident at 140mph like no other car I have ever driven. Even the 330i, the lexus 4, and the 40k+ cars I have driven have nothing over this car. Sure, it could be a little faster off the line but it is quite fast and exciting enough for me. I have owned high HP cars in the past and this car is far more enjoyable all around and a true pleasure to drive. I would say this it is an excellent value. The gps systed leaves a lot to be desired but operate effectively. The stereo is adequate but nothing more. The back seats are great and roomy for most adults, something that is rare in a car of this size and attitude. Now lets discuss the looks. This car is flat out beautiful, mouth watering beautiful. I wax it, then sit down and just look at it. I put on a z-tube and pop charger (quite a cheap and simple application which greatly changes the sound and low end torque) and the exhaust note is unreal. It sounds like a cross between an indy and muscle car. In closing I whole heartidly recommend this car to everyone (which is quite a few impressed individuals it seems) that ask me "how do you like it?. I just smile and say, go drive it. Anyone who owns this car will know what I mean when I say that to own it is to truly love it. Happy driving to all g owners.

Styling Power Styling Handling Cool factor. Dreamy exhaust. I think it has best exhaust noise on a sub $100k car. Don't you just love it roaring? Design is timeless on this car. How many cars can you say wow after having it for 2 years?

Weakness:

Service at Glendale Infiniti was bad...just bad. Ones in Mission Viejo and Costa Mesa are excellent. Small trunk compared to the sedan version. Gas mileage was so so. Fake aluminum interior gets scratched real easy. Defective window motor. Brake wears out rather quickly. HVAC controls. Potholes and speedbumps are a nightmare.

I recently had to let go of my G35 because of a divorce and I still dream about getting it back. I've had the car since December 3 of 2002 which is about a week after official release. This will be longer than anyone in this forum I believe. First 6 months, this car drew more attention than a 911. BTW, I traded in a Honda Odyssey to get this car. I have 2 kids and backseats are sufficient although trunk is dinky. The diagram on the car says it can fit 2 golf bags and I tried and tried but can fit one barely. I ended up with the AT transmission because Infiniti allocates only 10% of the cars to be MT and when I got it, the only color I was gonna get was Black so I didn't have any choice. Tiptronic was OK but next one I get will have MT. Acceleration in MT mode was quite good for an auto. I don't think any amateur racer can shift as fast as an AUTO per se.(more a sport feel in MT I think) 0-60 is between 5.8 to 6.2 depending on which magazine you read but the torque on this car is just fabulous. Braking is very good(even the non-Brembo) but at lower speeds somewhat too sensitive. Handling is very tight and you just wanna test its limits every time you go out on the road. Styling is probably the best under $100,000 range. Because it was so new, it had some issues. The tape that was applied by factory in the lower front bumper when removed took a chunk of paint off. Window motor was defective but covered under warranty.(also left grease marks on window pane) Rear brakes wore out at 7,000 miles, front at 15,000. Infiniti had sent out notices to those who had AUTO transmisson a letter saying that Infiniti would cover pads and rotors for first 36k miles.(don't know if it's a defect or design. can be expected from a fast heavy car) Gas mileage was approximately 19-20 with 50/50 local & freeways. On local only, hard to get over 16 MPG. HVAC is still confusing after 2 years because all the orange buttons look the same. Michelin Pilot Sport tires wear out quicky. Black paint is extremely hard to maintain too. I used to wax every other week. All in all, I am considering purchasing another one after my divorce is finalized. The design is flawless. I prefer the one without wing because it's sleek like that. I'd recommend people who are considering it to get it Premium PKG/Navigation/Sport and Tire PKG. Navigation system is one of the best on the market and very practical. When 298HP MT debuts in January, I will see if I can afford it. If not, I will definitely work harder to make it work. I still will go with Black or Athens Blue exterior with Black interior. Stock rims are fine as long as they are 18's. I personally think it is one of the best stock rims. I wouldn't think twice about purchasing another one.

Strength:

- bang for the buck (Power everything, Homelink, Bose audio, Xenon headlights, LED tail lights, 6 pk in dash CD, Traction control, 18" alloys, heated seats, sunroof, lots of power 280HP) - comfortable seats (for those under 6' tall) - gets lots of attention on the road--really stylish - back seats more functional than 350Z and many other competitors - acceptable interior storage (2 glove compartments+armrest, mappockets) - power seats automatically move forward to allow rear seat entry - gorgeous exhaust note - an all around great package when properly equipped and a pleasant alternative to the BMW 3 series which everyone seems to own these days in either black or silver

Weakness:

- Very thirsty...now I know why the gas tank is 76L) - auto tranny likes to tach really low...you have to drive in manual mode to really enjoy the power - Tiptronic is a bit jumpy under heavier acceleration - Sunglass holder is too small for most sunglasses (need to stuff my Oakley's in there) - No seat memory for either driver or passenger (need to reset every time someone else drives or gets in back seat - SMALL trunk with VERY small pass through to rear when back seats folded - interior materials could be improved (especially door panels [cheap plastic that scuffs easily] floor mats [look worn after 2 mths] - Pilot Sport tires tend to lose it easily in wet conditions - front seat belts tend to get stuck between seat back and door after entry - cheap plastic plug for auxiliary 12V adapter...my old Jetta GLX had a stylish cover that would snap back in place when not in use - more road noise than expected for the price point - no telescopic steering wheel - Willow interior not available on Ivory Pearl white exterior

After about 2 months, I still smile every time I walk up to it and get in. Even though I wanted a 325Ci for the past few years, a few moments in the G35 completely changed that. I knew as soon as I sat in it that 'this' was the one. I knew the G35 was clearly a better bang for the buck. It comes standard with all of the features that BMW charges extra for--ie. $950 HK sound, $1800 power seats, $600 heated seats, $2500 'real leather', $1500 sunroof, $1800 for Sport Pkg and the list goes on. There is lots of power on tap, almost too much when equipped with the M6. The manual just begged to be driven hard and FAST, yet it also created a good deal more noise in the cockpit. They probably give you 2 glove compartments for all the speeding tickets you'll get with the M6...it just wants to GO! However, in my opinion, the manual gearbox required too much work to navigate as it lacked much of the slick feel of the 3 Series. Once I drove the Tiptronic for a half hour or so, I knew that it was a better decision for me. Not to mention that I asked a few dealers and each told me the ratio of auto/manual they sell is 2 to 1. So I think my resale will probably hold up a bit more. I also opted for the Ivory Pearl exterior which I saw as a stylish and classy yet modern alternative to silver which is still hot, yet just too common on the road today. I think this colour is a well kept secret since I don't see many around, but honestly, its really sharp. I was hoping to go with Willow interior, but here in Canada they didn't import that combo for 2004. Diamond graphite interior will probably turn out to be a better option for year round use anyway. Overall, I'm very happy with the car so far. I can't comment on service yet since I haven't had to go. I think the only real gripe I have so far is the gas mileage which is quite poor. I'm hoping after break in, things will improve. Otherwise I would say, don't pay much creedence to the EPA specs. If you are in the GTA and looking for this vehicle, my dealer was Alta Infiniti, and the sales staff was quite friendly. Thumbs up on this purchase folks! A real thrill!

Weakness:

Interior could be more upmarket, but the car is still a bargain compared to a BMW 3 series. Also, the clutch makes it a bit difficult to determine where the take-up is when letting out the clutch. Other minor complaints would include the lack of a telescoping steering wheel and the lack of a fuel consumption read out. My wife's '96 Chrysler minivan has the onboard computer, I would expect a 2004 luxury coupe to have one as well.

I love this car. It has plenty of power and handles like a sports car, despite having a usable rear seat for my two small children. The exhaust note alone was worth the purchase price. I purchased the Caribbean Blue with the 6 speed manual, the aero package, leather sunroof and audio package, but not the navigation system, etc.

I sold my 1996 BMW 328is and replaced it with the G35. I do not regret the decision at all. The G35 turns a lot more heads than the BMW and has just gobs more power for the money. I have estimated that I saved $10,000.00 over a comparably equipped 3 series and I don't see G35's all over the road like I do 3 series. I also own a 1991 bare bones Miata that I am considering modifying to meet the requirements of Spec Miata racing.

Power and handling. Major fun - no other car has stirred me this much. BMW's are way more expensive and just don't grab me (other than the old Z3). Honda S2000 is attractive but needs more low end torque - I'm tire of high revving, front wheel drive, "buzzy" engines. G35 is back to basics with power and rear wheel drive.

Weakness:

I can see speeding tickets in my future. Needs another set of mags and tires for winter but that's not the G35's fault - heck, it's a sports car ! Have to budget for another car for my wife that will satisfy her enough when I'm using the G35.

OK, technically I don't own it * yet * but after test driving one for the day, I'm totally hooked. First off, I couldn't stop smiling the entire time I was driving. (my jaw still aches). The fun factor of this car is incredible. I tried the 5 spd Auto with Perf Package and was very pleasantly surprised with the power and handling. I can't wait to try the 6MT; I think that's what I'll finally settle with - I'll have fun in teaching my wife standard with this car! I test drove the Acura TL and it felt less crisp and the ommmfff factor was definitely not there. The interior of the TL is above the G35 but it just doesn't do it for me... the G35 is more real-time raw power whereas the TL is more refined and distant - it relegates you more to an observer than a driver. I'm surprised I'm saying this - I've owned 4 Acuras and enjoyed every minute with them. But the G35 has won my respect... I took corners at speeds I wouldn't try with anything else and it behaved very, very well; a little understeer but I didn't let off teh gas and it still corrected itself immediately - great road manners. And what about the sound... a very pleasant growl above the serenity of a luxurious interior. I really didn't try the radio at all since I was so enthralled with the experience... and I truly mean this was an experience. The dealer just laughed when I returned with a foolish grin on my face - I'm sure he's seen this reaction many times before and knows the car will sell itself . He's absolutely right. I'm sold...! Stay tuned for further updates as my journey begins. Only thing I need to think about now is: should I wait for the 2005 to get a better deal on a 2004 or just buy a 2005 !?! Other web sites indicate the 2005 has more HP, a better interior, and some of the nagging problems are fixed: seat belts are easier to reach, better upper console, memory on seat controls, etc etc. They're supposed to be out sometime in Nov/Dec in Canada. Can I wait that long? And it'll be winter then... I'll have plan a vacation in the south... decisions, decisions !

Strength:

- Styling (high head turn factor) - Power, even unmodified this car provides more than enough acceleration, braking, and handling to statisfy most everyone's need for performance - Quality, Infiniti's build quality probably rivals Lexus and MB now. Very impressive. - Value, this by far was the least expensive of the vehicles I was considering, yet it exceeded the others in the key criteria I had for making a purchase.

Weakness:

- Front seats a little snug for larger than average drivers. - Seat memory. REALLY needs one. - Road noise. Probably silly to even bring this up, kind of like complaining that this car is "really fast" - but good to know when buying one.

Purchased pre-owned '03 G35 coupe 6MT with Aero, Sport, and Premium pkgs with 12,000 miles for $30,900 3 months ago. Only aftermarket modification has been Borla Cat-back exhaust system which boosts HP from 280 to around 295. I budgeted around 45K for a new weekend play car - wanted somthing with great performance, good looks, and seating for 4. Looked at the Mercedes CLK 320, Audi TT, the BMW 330. Drove new models of each and came away overwhelmed at the value the G possesses. Was ready to purchase a new one for around 38500 before TTL when I came across the used one on the internet. Overall, this car possesses a unique blend of artful styling, high (but not the highest) performance, and practicality of any car I've owned. The low end torque and stability of this car are most noteworthy, the engine willingly pulls in any gear at any speed. The car handles extremely well and provides great feedback when being pushed hard. I love the engine "as is" (with modifified exhaust) but am considering a relatively inexpensive mod to the intake to increase HP a notch. Build quality of this copy is excellent, even with 12,000 miles on it there were no rattles or imperfections detected with powertrain or fit / finish. That is - until I discovered exactly how low the front chin spoiler hangs when I drove over a parking curb. I nearly beat myself to death in the parking lot at Kroger's. Only a few complaints or changes I'd make - first, I'm 6'1" and weigh 215 bs so I'm a little larger than average - the side bolsters on the seat are snug for me especially after a lengthy drive. Also, I will probably burn out the seat auto adjustment servos from trying to find that perfect seating position. I get it just right, then my 16 year old son or my wife readjusts it and I have to start the process all over again. Seat memory would be really neat. I absolutely love the ratios of of the 6MT, however I find the shifting process to be high effort. I really have to work to get a "smooth" start out of first and the tranny requires attention to run up agressively through the gears. It may be driver "error" but I've owned a Porche 911 and an Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce in the past and had easier times with shifting. Last thing, the road noise in the cabin is pretty high although is due in large part to the 18" Michelin Pilot sport tires. I may try a different brand when I switch out the tires to mitigate this issue.
