Strength:

Seats and sitting position are great. Very roomy. Tons of nice touches (like the rear windshield sunshades and the automatic seat positioning). Reliability has been excellent, dealerships live up to their reputation.

Weakness:

Brakes are way too squishy for my tastes. There is more wind noise than I would have expected.

Excellent value. Exceptionally well appointed car for the price. Smooth, powerful engine. Solid, reliable comfortable.

Strength:

Engine, acceleration, comfort, styling. Great ride, especially on curvy roads :)

Weakness:

rattling in the back, analog clock is very hard to read.....needs to be brighter i think.

Infiniti did a great job with this car. The engine is flawless, interior and exterior styling is good. Bose audio system is good, except for some rattling from the subwoofer grille. The seats are comfortable, even for 5+ hour trips. This car is a great bargain!!

Strength:

It still has a nice sound system..and a pretty big trunk

Weakness:

Seats uncomfortable on the trips to bring it in for service (any longer than 25 mintues and my legs start to fall asleep)..paint job/finish scratches easily..all the service needed (good thing it came with a good warranty or we would have gotten rid of it by now)

My husband and I have owned our I30 now for about 3 years. I was the first one to write a review on the car on this website. I have changed my opinion..I was very impressed with the vehicle at first. Nice stereo, handling, etc.. But there were a few things I can't get passed..the quality of the paint job/finish just is terrible. I previously owned a 91 Chev Celebrity that had a much better paint job than this car does. And everytime I had to take it in because the "service engine" or "airbag" light came on, I told them that the paint sucked and they never did anything about it. In the first year that I owned the vehicle, we had it in 5 times due to a light being on. And because we live 100 miles from the dealer, it was definatly a pain to get it down to them to fix. Every time it was in, they just said it was some sensor that went off, but nothing actually broken. So the sensors are too sensitive?? My car now has 54k miles and looks like it is about 10 years old because the finish is so bad, we have been waxing it with the colored wax just to make it look a little better. My husband always got annoyed with all the flyers they sent us in the mail that told us how great our car is, especially after the first year and having it in so many times for service.

Strength:

Fit-finish, mechanical polish and obvious quality and integrity of the mechanical parts.

Weakness:

Styling is not the most exciting, but it well disguises this sports sedan and makes it a sleeper. (Kind of like the Hemi equipped MoPars of the late 60's)

Outstanding! Lease return vehicle that only had one small ding in the right rear door, smells and drives brand new. I just returned from my first road trip in this car and it is just amazing. Averaged 25.8 mpg in windy rainy conditions. Seat adjustment is novel, and even dad was impressed with rear seat leg room. Fit and finish is way above most Asian makes, and light years ahead of my last Ford. The engine is the whole car, simply silky smooth and you don't even feel the transmission shifts...

Strength:

Not worth mentioning because of the bad front seats.

Weakness:

Very uncomfortable, not ergonomically correct front seats. Some controls placed under the steering wheel and can not be easily reached. Interior finish and controls identical to the Maxima's.

I’ve had this car for about 2 months and I’m very disappointed with the front seats. The front seats look good, but they are not ergonomically correct. There is not enough support in the lower thigh, and there is no adjustment to extend the length of the seat. Don’t be fooled by their good appearance and try them out on the road for a longer period of time. Even with the lumbar support, there is not enough support in the lower back, which result in back pain, discomfort and frustration. I’m only 5’ 10”, but when I adjust the seat for the proper arm distance from the steering wheel, my right knee is uncomfortably pressing the center console or even worse the sharp edge of the key in the ignition. My knee can not freely move from side to side without hitting the bottom of the steering column. Each time I drive this car I try to change the adjustments to make the seat more comfortable, but so far I’ve been unsuccessful. I did take this car for a test drive when I was buying it, but it was only for a short distance. This was not enough to detect the major flaws in the seat design. By selecting this car, I assumed that the seats would be as comfortable as in my previous vehicles. But, oh how mistaken I was! My commute to work is only about half an hour, but after a few minutes of driving I can’t wait to get out of this car because of discomfort. I’m seriously thinking about trading this car in for another car. Remember that no matter how smooth the engine is if the seats are not comfortable you will not be satisfied with a car.

Strength:

sound system; navigation system; fit and finish;; interior room

Weakness:

weak engine; road noise; electrical or emission problem; climate control system

i had this car for less than 2 years (i picked it up at the dealer in december 2000). now, with 23,770 miles on it, the "service engine soon" flashed on, an indication of emission control malfunction. i have to bring this to the dealer a few days from now. maybe i 'll have to drive a few times to see if it will go off. although i have a good faith with this car, still i think it could have been better. just last year i had to install a sound deadener to quiet the car, because the tires are too noisy during highway driving. bumps and road irrregularities are also highly noticeable and the car rolls, pitch and sways noticeably. also the gas mileage is not so good, i only get 20 miles per gallon average altough i'm driving mostly in the highway. the engine have to work hard during sudden acceleration, and i noticed quite a few times that the car tends to be jerky or jumpy when flooring the accelerator from a stop. another problem with this car is the climate control. after turning the ignition off, you have to make sure that next time you drive around, you have to press the re-circulate button, or you will always get outside air in when using the air conditioner. the old nissan 240 has buttons that stay depressed even after ignition is switched off. another thing that needs to be corrected is the front windshield that tends to cloud and streak with moisture that's hard to defrost or defog no matter how much wiper washer you have to use during cold morning starts. very difficult indeed when driving directly in front of the morning sun. lastly, the vehicle's paint finish easily rubs off, scratched or get stained. i don't know if the new i-35 already has that problem taken cared of.

Strength:

Quality, fit and finish, the ENGINE!, transmission, Infiniti service is second only to Lexus.

Weakness:

Road noise, turning radius, Infiniti should have further differenitated this from a Maxima.

Traded in my Acura TLS for this car. Very pleased with this car. Not a SINGLE problem, no rattles no squeaks, transmission is still going strong at 15,000 miles. Touch wood. The Acura was fragile, almost had to baby it. I've been abusing this Infiniti and it keeps coming back asking for more. The engine is a jewel, I can see why Nissan's VQV6 has been hailed as the best V6 ever. There are times when I'm at a stoplight that I can't tell whether the engine is running or not. It's that quiet. Amazing torque off the line, stable chassis, minimal body roll around corners. Ride could be a little quieter but if I wanted the isolation I would have gone with a Lexus.

looks, smooth power, great sound system, price, and its size.

Weakness:

has a little rust already under the trunk lid and under the front hood were the grill meets

I was looking at an es300 but once I read the reviews here I took a test drive and loved everything. The car was sporty yet luxurious and looked great. We needed a midsize car and this is just right.

Strength:

Engine, price, extra

Weakness:

Big weakness...the sunroof leaks in car washes. When I called the dealer, they said don't go through any high pressure washes, but it happens at all of them. Very disappointing response and not acceptable! I've had Honda's, VW's and Audi's with sunroofs and have never had a leak.

I moved from an Audi A4 to this car. Much more room, great engine, all the extras in the car. Very reasonable price.

Confortable, roomy, quiet ride, nice sound system, good quality, 6 years and no major problems so far.

Weakness:

Some body roll, but i guess thats why they offer the touring model. Also, wheels are pretty ugly and hard to keep cleen b/c of brake dust buildup.

This car is excellent in almost every way. The ride comfort is great, it is roomy, has pretty good acceleration, and the bose sound system is outstanding. Lets not forget about the saftey...I have been in a couple od accident in this car, and it feels like a tank. You dont feel a thing.
