In my orginal summary I stated I drove the vehicle on a 100 mile round trip. This was an error I overlooked. The correct round trip mileage was 1300 miles. Sorry about that.

Strength:

Stylish interior. Great split front seats. Very large rear trunk. Great stylish vehicle. A real smooth driving vehicle.

Weakness:

Side view mirrors need to be larger.

I was unhappy with a 2003 Honda Odessy Vanand decided to buy a luxury four door sedan. The dealer suggested I look at his certified leased Lincolns, rather then, a new Ford Victoria or Mercury Marquis. The lincoln I purchased is a dream car. Made a 100 mile round trip and enjoyed every mile of it. I once owned a Mercury Marquis ,however, it wasn't in the same leaague as the Lincoln Town Car. From now on, I will only buy a Lincoln. You can have your forign cars and better mileage.

Strength:

Safety, ride, quality, comfort, relative gas mileage, easy entry and exit, sound system. Requires regular gas - most Cadillac, BMW, Lexus, Mercedes models specify premium. (They use higher compression and require premium to build greater HP than our yachts.) Gets better gas mileage than my 1995 Nissan 2.4L 2WD Pickup.

Weakness:

Previous owner didn't take care of the leather. Please use a leather care product on your seats. They really deserve it.

As lifelong Mopar man I was furious when my wife bought this car with 154,000 miles on it. It now has 161,000 and I am looking for another TC for me. Rather than repeat everything else others have said I'd like to summarize the review ratings on this site for its competitors: Mercedes Benz: Average of 7 types - 4.16 C class 4.01 CL 4.53 CLK 4.11 E 4.10 S 4.12 SL 4.44 SLK 3.83 Cadillac Average of 5 models - 3.12 Catera 2.19 CTS 2.95 DeVille 3.59 Eldorado 3.59 Seville 3.29 Lexus Average of 7 models 4.46 ES300 4.14 GS 430 4.63 GS 4.16 LS400 4.40 LS430 4.44 SC430 4.85 SC 4.58 BMW Average of 3 models - 4.58 5-series 4.50 7 series 4.38 M5 4.88 Ford Land Yacht Class Average - 4.43 Crown Vic 4.44 Mercury Maurader 4.52 Grand Marquis 4.39 Town Car 4.39 So lets rank the averages by manufacturer: BMW 4.58 Lexus 4.46 Ford L-Y 4.43 Mercedes Benz 4.16 Cadillac 3.12 What's even more astounding is a lot of us Land Yacht reviewers bought our big Fords with over 5 years and 100,000 miles on them and still rated them higher than Cadillac, Mercedes Benz and equal to Lexus.

Model Reviewed: Toyota Sienna LE

Strength:

- Smooth power train and good handling. - Comfortable for driver and passengers. - Good reliability thus far. - Good general build quality.

Weakness:

- Could use a bit more cargo room and more space-efficient back seat storage scheme. - No OD when tranny cold.

Bought the Sienna new in Aug/00 after comparing it with Ford, GM, and Honda minivans. Became a toss up between it and the Odyssey. Decision made when Honda dealers were firm on pricing. We live in the Pacific Northwest and use the Sienna mainly for short people-hauling/cross town trips. It goes on longer tours a few times a year. We use it to tow stuff occasionally (it has a class II Hidden Hitch). It gets about 20 mpg around town and 25 on the freeway. For what the van is used for, we find the power to be ample and always smoothly delivered. Handling is competent and safe for a fairly wide range of road/driving conditions. It is pretty easy to park. Interior room and seating functions are okay. Front seats are spacious enough for 6 footers. Back seats/cargo area certainly not as roomy and 'trick' as what the Odyssey offers. We have had to put things up on the roof rack a few times, and reminded ourselves that it is a MINIvan after all. Gauges and indicators are easy to read and understand. Heating and a/c have worked well front and back, winter and summer. Low tire pressure indicator provided accurate warning twice (nails in tires), so it's a useful gizmo. Forward vision is good due to seating height and low/short hoodline. Rearward not great due to thick pillars and head rests. There's road and wind noise, more pronounced at higher speeds, but nothing the Lo-Fi sound system can't drown out. The Sienna has provided us with good, reliable service since day one, and has remained so after close to 50K miles, which is to be expected. Some complaints, however: 1. Recently noticed that the transmission does not always shift into top gear when the van is cold. Will shift properly after a few minutes of operation (takes a bit longer with lower ambient temperature). Will talk to the service folks at the next visit. 2. Rear door strap broke at about 30K. Romania/Kendall Toyota repaired it. 3. Not a glitch really, but the original Dunlops were done after about 40K miles; perhaps a bit on the short side of things. Replaced them with some Michelins. That's about it for whining; but then again, our expectation is no major problems for at least 100K. The van gets an oil&filter change every 3K miles with conventional 5W30. All scheduled maintenance has been proficiently done at the local Romania/Kendall dealer. I have read (and been verbally informed by the dealer) about the engine oil sludging problem, so will continue to regularly monitor oil and look for symptoms mentioned by owners who have experienced the problem. Also received from Toyota Motor Sales USA a warranty enhancement notice last year for the automatic transmission. We will find out if the No-High Gear-when-cold phenomenon is part of the issue. We plan on keeping the Sienna for another 3 - 5 years if all goes well.

Air Ride Sound system Computerized Dash Big back seat (for a wicky) 4.6L V8 = POWER HOUSE! Pwr everything! Climate Control Very Realiable

Weakness:

-Seals break and burns alittle oil. (nothing big though) -Air ride -front Rotors/shoes warp easy if driven hard -gas Mileage -not good in snow

One of the most reliable cars I've ever owned. Anyone that says that a Town Car is a poor performer doesn’t know much about cars. My Dad, uncle, brother in-law and myself all drive TC. All have high mileage and still going strong. If taking care properly you can get close to 300K on a car like this before having major problems. Sure it drinks a little more gas but it’s a good trade off for having longevity & reliability. I have 209K with NO problems yet! There’s no better vehicle to take on a long trip than a TC. It’s the ultimate ROAD WARRIOR. chk out http://www.lincolnsonline.com for more.

Overall, a pleasure to drive. Smooth and comfortable while driving. Excellent interior with all the bells & whistles. This car was made for the road! Good handling and plenty of power with the V8 engine. Gets attention no matter where I drive it. There is nothing I can say bad about this automobile. I just love it!!!

Factory Radio

Bought this sled with 120k two years ago. I now have 222K and recently replaced the A/C Compressor. I use Mohil-1 synthetic with AST additive and have had very good results. I keep the injectors clean with STP every other tank. I love this car and have had no complaints. You can't beat the air-ride suspension for comfort. I am very satisfied with the car overall. The only disappointment thus far is the factory radio. I rplaced it three times because of the defects in the circuit board. I did a little research and found out that aftermarket is the way to go. You can even use the factory amp.

To many to list I love the little cigarette window.

My heater doesnt work

First of all it is actually a 83 Lincoln TC SIG.It is the most comfortable car I have ever rode in. I had to replace a water pump fuel pump turn signal lamp and a rear bumper because it was rusted out.It is as beautiful on the out side as it is on the inside. It has just about 170000 miles on it and the engine still runs just like new.Overall it is a great car and as soon as i get some more money I am buying another one.

Underpowered but acceptable Frail power window components Traction control is Mickey Mouse. Cutting off fuel when going through snow is not how one does it

Bought vehicle from neighbor. I have driven Toyota Celicas & Supras since 1976 which should comment on my opinion of those cars. The Lincoln's styling and luxury interior sold me. The handling is crisp when compared to previous Lincolns I've driven. The brakes are excellent. The power train is nicely matched though it is somewhat underpowered. Gas mileage is very good. There have been only two problems with the car: the driver side window motor, regulator, and complete switch failed; and the fuel pump croaked at 70,000 miles. I had bought an aftermarket warrantee so it wasn't painful.I am satisfied with the car and will keep it as my daily driver. If I get another bout of Toyota "Twin Turbo Fever" as I have had, then I look for a Sunday car.
