Strength:

Beautiful design inside and out. Bells and whistles galore. I kept having to remind myself this was the "baby" benz.

Weakness:

None that I found.

We have been test driving cars recently and I talked my partner into trying the C-240. We had just left driving an 01 BMW 323i. I felt being both base model automatics the two would make a fair comparison. Wow! Was I wrong. I think BMW makes a great product but I was literally bored driving the 323 and I left with a disappointing impression. However, the C-240 gave me the feeling one would expect for spending this kind of dough. Features blew the beemer away, the ride was more comfortable, tighter and the engine felt more responsive than the 323i. Interior finishes were beautiful, and though it drove and handled like a small car it felt like a larger Benz!

Strength:

Great style. Tech-rich. Safety features.

Weakness:

Lack of rack & pinion steering.

The C280 is not a sports car but its 2.8 liter engine has no problem cruising at 80mph on safe highways. The Flex Service System (FSS) does away with traditional 3000-mile oil changes. Flex Services on the C280 are every 10,000-20,000 (365-750 days). A well engineered automobile ruled by extraordinary safety features. Add the moonroof, CD/Bose audio system, and obvious style, and you have a winner.

Brake Dust!

I really like this car. I have owned several new Hondas and loved their refinement and ride. No offense, but the Mercedes is in a whole nother league. Which it should be I guess for the difference in price. Anyhow, the car rides super smooth, you can barely feel it running at a stop light, and the brakes are superb. The only thing....with those great brakes come brake dust. Which there is alot of. Other than that I have no complaints. This car is loaded with little gadgets that most cars dont even come with. It will be hard to pry me out of a Benzo for now on. Before I bought this car, I test drove BMW 3 series and a Lexus 300....I like this car much better those two.

Strength:

Technology in this car is awesome. More features then you can count.

Weakness:

Navigation system is not so great but functional. I believe the Acura has a better DVD based system.

This is an initial review about the car. I just got it. I researched many cars before I came to the conclusion. I looked at the BMW 330i and Audi A4 Quattro. None can match the luxury of the Baby Benzo. Ride quality is excellent compaired to the other two. Acutally, it's not even a fair compairson. The Benz caters more to the luxury craving individual. It does not have the sports like handling of the BMW. It was never meant to be. People always talk about how the connection between the driver and car is so strong in the BMW. If that's what you want then get a BMW. The benz is pure luxury and ride comfort is grade A. It has a host of safety features that other cars do not have. It has little features that make you say wow every time you find them. If you want pure luxury driving pleasure and the oooh and ahhh, get the Merc. I ordered my custom with the Comand System, heated seats, bixenon's with headlight washers, drivers multi contour seats, and C2 premium package with power window, rain sensor, power rear sunshade.

Ride, interior room in a small package.

Weakness:

Lots of things failing like fuel pump, sensors, srs electonics, transmission controll electonics, etc

Wonderful ride for a little car. Has had a series of problems which are expensive to fix. It now has 112000 miles and should go for a long time.

Model Reviewed: /C230 Kompressor

Strength:

Supercharged engine, cheap, looks.

Weakness:

Blind spots, expensive options, funky colour options, black accents with the panorama sun roof.

Warning: I only took this for a test drive for about 30 min. Not what I'd consider a good review, but a good first impression. At a base price of 33,000 Cdn, it's a good price for a Benz. I tested the loaded version with the sport package, leather seats, and panorama sun roof. To get the fully loaded version, you need another 10 grand or so. A cheap Benz is still a cheap Benz, but there is no goodies. Big let down. The car handles very nicely. Smooth ride, even though they said the 17" wheels would provide a rougher ride compared to the standard 16" tires. Acceleration was beautiful. 0-100Kph in about 8 seconds. The ride was very comfortable, and the car is fun to drive. The car is hard to look out of the back, but that's to be expected of a liftback. The added window at the bottom of the main rear window is useless. It is only used when your body is turned around to reverse, and the window has an odd shape that distorts the image you see. You must get used to it. While the problems with the car are there, they are just cosmetic problems. I still daydream of driving that car everywhere.

Strength:

Tight handling, fairly quiet ride; the kompressor gives a slight whine when revving up; an added plus for the sports car enthusiast. Rock solid feel in typical benz form.

Weakness:

Can't think of many. Cup holder is sort of funky, hard to get your morning coffie from there. Would like to see a supercharged 6 cyl; that would get my attention.

Buitiful Car. This car handles well and is quick to boot. The supercharged engine starts to make the ponies at approx 6k rpm. Nice sport coupe with the same engine as the slk230 kompressor. Was considering buying a 2002 Lexus 300I for 33k; glad I did not. Much better deal on the slightly used benz. Car is still under 50K factory warranty. Anyone who has driven a german car will realize there is just no comparison with a japanese car. Whole other ball game. A used german car may just be the best bang for your buck. Buy one slightly used and save $$$$.

Strength:

acceleration, ride, safety Sun Motors sales and service a big plus for purchasing another Benz. Sorry to all of you out there who do not have a service department like Sun Motors. Hats off to Mr. Sunderland.

Weakness:

C-230K eats up tires. average about 15-17K per set with HP tires. Going to a different tire other than HP will drastically reduce road reliability.

I love the car, its a joy to drive and acceleration is quick and even. I drive way to fast and the car maintains and handles well.

Strength:

Great automatic transmission, I have no regrets picking it over the manual. The sunroof is great. Seats very comfortable and the sunroof sealed the deal for my wife.

Weakness:

Speaker placement for the sound system could be better.

What an excellent car! After looking at what else I could have spent my $28k on I came to the conclusion that there is no better deal out there for the money. The car is well built, fun to drive and as a bonus has that three pointed star on the grill.
