Strength:

Retro style, quality built, V-8 and rear wheel drive (YOU HEAR THAT CHEVY?? HOW ABOUT A REAL MONTE CARLO SS ? ), and it's 280 hp to !!

Weakness:

Needs more leg room, higher roof and a different designed windsheild that you can see through without lowering your head.

What a true "Retro Classic" ! This has to be one of the coolest cars of our modern times. This car is all quality inside and out. The only complaint about this car is it's just too small for an over 6 foot tall 200 plus lb. man. Could use more leg room, the top of the windsheild is right in your view and the top nearly touches the top of your head when it's up. The Chevy Corvette (2003) has way more leg room in it for taller drivers. The T-bird has great pick-up and is a fun little roadster. A very nice toy for an adult with $35k plus if they have it to spend but not at all a practical car by far.

Strength:

good gas mileage, decent design for a cheap car.

Weakness:

engine and electrical problems. Pieces of interior fell off. doesn't retain value at all. same price as honda civic but the civic is plenty more reliable. I will never buy an american car again!

My first car was a 1985 chevy S-10. Ran real rough but a very reliable automobile. I was impressed. After my sister wrecked it, I bought a cavalier. When I bought it it had 16 miles on it. It did run well for a cheap car to begin with. Then little things started happening ....like pieces of the interior falling off. Like the underneath of both front seats, the covers to the seatbelts, basically all the cheap little plastic parts. That didn't bother me too much. Once I hit about 30,000 miles, my engine started knocking. I called the service department and they told me I had a bad lifter and it was a usual problem, costs about 600 to fix. I asked them why if it was a usual problem wasn't it a recall and they didn't come up with a good answer. So since I didn't have the 600 to fix it right away I kept driving it and then my car started to stall all the time. I ended up selling it for 2800 in 2000.

Strength:

Great "girly-go-fast" car, pretty color, nice and quick pick up, sporty look...

Weakness:

trouble starting, knocking underneath, heavy doors, uncomfortable seats, hard to clean places on exterior that no car wash can reach... shall I go on. IM really not pleased right now.

I loved my bright yellow new car when I drove it off the lot. Great pick up for a 4-banger. I got an OK deal since my grandpa worked for GM. THe car listed for $16675. I should have, however, bought the truck I was looking at. I had to take the car to the dealer many times because it wouldnt start, and I am having many problems with rude servicemen. I was very pleased, now, not so sure.

GREAT LOOKING CAR, A REAL DREAM AT FIRST GLANCE

Weakness:

BRAKES ARE CHEAP, DOORS WERE HEAVY, AND THE STEREO WASN'T A STEREO.

MY VERY FIRST CAR WAS AN 1998 CHEVROLET CAVALIER, UNFORTUNATELY IT WILL BE MY LAST. FOOLED BY THE TEST DRIVE AND THE CHEVY LOGO, THE CHEVY WHICH I DROVE OFF THE LOT 04/17/99 WAS DEFECTIVE, AN FACTORY CALL BACK BY ALL MEANS. THE CAR STALLED 2 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR AND HAS NOT BEEN RESTARTED SINCE.

Strength:

pretty fast for a 4 cylinder, beat a honda civic :) didnt break that bad for american made and i made 137000 miles on there before i sold it

Weakness:

doors very heavy, interior cheaply made, and not holding their value would be the worst

Well i can say i loved the car espicially for the price. Since im only 17 it was great for me it was amanual so it was awesome on gas milage it was sporty enough for me too. I never had aproblem with the sunroof, my main problem was how cheap the interior was, the seats fell apart and the passenger would scoot up or down anymore. the doors are pretty heavy they usually close on you right when you open them. it drove pretty nice the brakes were great. honestly it was the best standard car i have driven. the worst part about them is they loose about average 8 thousand dollars new when you drive them off the lot . the best way to go with them is to buy used, but for a first or second car its great

Strength:

peppy ecotec engine(for a 4 banger) low price after 3K rebate, looks alright

Weakness:

brakes, tendency to pitch side to side, cheapness of interior, uncomfortable seats, heavy door on coupe tends to wildly swing open into whatever is next to you, basically everything except engine

Safety Hazard, was going 40 mph when anti lock brakes locked up while avoiding a deer. car went sideways I managed to avoid rolling car and going headfirst into a tree got car going other way into a mailbox and nosebown into 5 ft deep ditch. Car is now L shaped possibly totalled and air bags didn't deploy, possible lawsuit? luckilly girlfriend and I had seatbelts on. Still was taken to hospital strapped to board neck collar the whole deal, missed over a week of work due to nasty whiplash. dont buy unless you plan on modifying suspension (eibach) putting at least 16 inch wheels with high performance low pros and no anti lock brakes(which frequently malfunction) all this just to keep car from trying to roll under 40 mph panic stop.

Model Reviewed: Chevy Cavalier Z-24 LS Sports Sedan

Strength:

It's compact for those tight spaces, but still roomy enough to take the whole family out. It accelerates as good as a 6-cylinder. The style of the cavalier can't be compared to the way other cars look - it is that beautiful. The price is economical. Everything but tires and brakes are covered under warranty. A real effort is made to make these cars nice. Just because they don't cost alot doesn't mean that you get an inferior car.

Weakness:

My car doesn't seem to get great gas mileage, but that might be because it is a Z-24 too.

This is by far the best car I have ever driven. Some people say they are too small, but I find that it's size only makes it easier to fit into those tight spaces. My car is a Z-24 and it accelerates as well as any 6-cylinder engined car could. It came packed with all the accessories they put in cavaliers. Of course, I paid extra for it because it was loaded, but to only pay $16,ooo for a beautiful, fully-loaded car is great. I will never trade this car in for any other. I checked out Grand Am's and other mid-size cars and they could'nt compare to my cavalier.

Strength:

engine (power and economy) and good styling for an econo 4 banger

Weakness:

i see the bad ratings and i wonder .... The other thing is that these are made in usa and also mexico , steer clear of the one from mexico. on our tester it was made in mexico and we noticed things wrong with it I demanded one built in usa I have nothing against mexico . The other weakness is even if gm built this car out of titanium someone would still knock it down praising a plastic import

awesome car got the 4 door sedan with auto and ac. the ecotec engine delivers a lot of zip and is good on gas . surprising amount of room inside I'm 6 foot 3 and have no problem behind the wheel . No fun for me in back seat but the kids love it back there . the 03 has a real solid feel to it makes it easy to judge its limits . the 60/40 fold down rear seat is a bonus for hauling the occasional awkward load .I always tell people make sure you try this one at nite and you'll be impressed with how the headlamps have the wide view plus the guages are easily read. I am pleased cause I never thought i would buy a compact sedan
