Chevy Cavalier 4d sedan
Strength:
-CD player/6 speakers with built in woofer -anti lock brakes -air conditioner, cruise control and that extra little outlet to hook in cb's or radar detectors if its not equiped with a cigarette lighter I also think that the trunk is roomy and the little net thing is very convenient, also the fold down rear seat. I think overall this car is great!
Weakness:
none yet, other than the ashtry and cigarette lighter are OPTIONAL features which i do not have and fog lights are too. I havent had this car very long, but I think its a great car for the money, I love the CD/AM/FM and cassette and the 6 stereo speakers. Also the antilock breaks are very good when it comes to sliding in the snow or ice. The car rides smoothly and comfortable and I think that anyone that wants a nice family car for a low price to go for the cavalier Similar Products Used: 1991 Chevy Beretta |

peppy engine great looking car factory chrome rims dependable
Weakness:
clunky shifter gear rattle noise This is my first new car and I absolutely love it. The 2.2 ecotec is a peppy little engine that is very quiet. The 5 speed tranny is a little clunky feeling but still not bad. I have yet to find an import that can beat this thing off the line. I also receive a lot of compliments on the color of the car (indigo blue metallic) and the appearance of it. (ls sport package) The car seems to have a problem with wheel hop when launching hard and has a gear rattle noise that from what I understand is inherent with the 5 speed trannys. The only problem I've had with the car is the fuel sending unit went out shortly after I purchased the car. Warranty replaced it and no problems since. I am really pleased with this car and will look to gm again when purchasing my next car. Similar Products Used: 81 Chevrolet Scottsdale (not really similar but my first vehicle) |

Longevity. Dependable. Economical. You will definitely get your money's worth.
Weakness:
Use Armor All! The plastic will crack, if you do not care for it properly! This is my 2nd Cavalier. I bought a used one 5 years ago. It was a 1990 model car. It was the most dependable car that I have ever owned. It is still going strong for the girl that bought it. The A/C still works. It just runs and runs. No major problems. It has 150,000 miles on it. I'm hoping that with some TLC- this car will be as good, or better. It is not a plush vehicle. But- I do not need plush. I need nice, economical, and reliable. I love it. I love my 30 miles to the gallon. I love my CD player. I love my A/C. It has lots of cup holders. It has XM radio. For the money- it's a terrific little car. Similar Products Used: 1990 Cavalier. cheaply made parts I wouldn't get this car at all. The brakes are bogus, the hose is leaking coolant and generally once you start getting repairs on it, it just never ends. |

Cavalier Coupe
Strength:
*Dependability- that's it.
Weakness:
*Gas mileage is poor for a 4-cyl. *Comfort is just not there *Ride quality makes me wonder, "why did I ever sell my bicycle?" *Acceleration is poor and very slow-going. *Car is not very well-built..3 yrs. old and it's falling apart. *Tilt steering is an OPTION, ash trays are another OPTION - both of which mine doesn't have. Allright, if you are a fan of sporty cars, the exterior may be appealing to you, but don't expect a good ride from this cheaply made product of GM. The steering is weird- almost feels delayed when you move the wheel. The brakes are also delayed and quick stopping in an emergency would be very difficult. The seats are angled really awkwardly and are thin and uncomfortable. The entire interior looks and feels very cheaply made and my dash is already cracking after only 3 years. I believe Chevy's are dependable, but they have been getting made progressively cheaper from the early 90's to the present. Considering all of the other cars in its class, you can definitely get something much better for the money- way too over-priced for a cheap, uncomfortable ride. Mine is only 3 years old, and I am experiencing many problems already- not something you would expect from a car this new. One would think an automatic transmission with 2.2 liters would give a decent amount of power. Think again- this car is sluggish and when the gas pedal is depressed, it groans, and almost sounds like an angry cow. The car should not be driven over 80 mph, for it will really strain, and you will hear some noises and experience shaking in the body of the car. Do yourself a favor, and don't waste your hard earned cash on this cheap, slow, uncomfortable american car. the problem of stalling without warning. This car has great acceleration. I enjoy driving it. I do not like the way it stalls for no reason and no one knows why. I took it to 2 different dealers and niether could find the problem. |

Price Financing Standard Features Fuel Economy Hasn't broken down yet
Weakness:
Suspension Wears out too fast Valve cover gasket Leaked Rattles and squeaks from dash board Oil filter is hard to access I bought the cavalier because i got a good price and financing rate. I also liked the standard features and because it's American made. I've driven 65000 miles so far and it has never broken down on me. However, it has needed some repairs. I paid $700 for struts and mounting plates. I replaced the valve cover gasket myself because oil was slowly leaking down into the spark plug wells. The ride isn't very comfortable, there seems to be many reasons for that. The seats are thin and there are lots of little squeaks from the plastic dash board and engine vibrations while idle. I like the climate control, ac/heat are good, but the vents like to fall out. Overall, I think the engineers at GM could do a better job on quality. They need to invest some more $ in their passenger car divisions. I want to see the US auto industry get back on its feet and start taking market share from foreign competitors. Anyway, I'm gonna keep my cavalier until it dies. The end. Similar Products Used: 1994 Nissan Altima |
