Strength:
Price (My friend and my parents purchased 3 at the same time), stereo bass, cup holders, steel wheels, larger storage areas at doors and glove box, extremely bright head lamps made people think they were high beams.
Weakness:
Slow but I passed the 160km/h speedometer limit to around 170km/h. I traded it in for a Nissan Altima. I won't recommend it to anyone. Similar Products Used: Plymouth horizon - much worse. |

Chevy Cavalier VL Coupe
Strength:
2.2L 4-cylinder was good on gas, engine ran without any major problems, interior design was decent, automatic tranny was reliable, otherwise their is nothing I can really say positive about the car.
Weakness:
2.2L engine had no power and felt weak and anemic at all times, suspension is completely out of date, full of rattles and squeaks inside, handling and steering was pathetic, and build quality and overall refinement inside and outside was horrific. I would not recomend this car to anyone. The overall feel of this car from the engine to the interior just felt completely cheap and unrefined. The one good thing I could say about it is even though the engine was slow and felt out of date, it never died on me and stayed reliable up until the day I sold the car. The steering and handling was primitive compared to any Japanese rival of the same year. And even though the suspension was soft which made the handling bad, it still didn't absorb bumps well, the worst of both worlds. The suspension was fully independpent with struts up front, but the rear had a solid live axle which is way out of date. It had loads of rattles and squeaks, and they got worse as the car got older. The bottom line is that you could get any other Japanese rival such as a Nissan Sentra, Honda Civic, Toyota Corrola, or Mazda Protege and get a much better built, more refined car with the modern updates that a car should get; the Cavaliers of this time had none. Dont settle for crap, go for a Japanese rival. Similar Products Used: 94 Mazda Protege w/ 1.8L DOHC engine option(same engine from the Miata). The Protege was a far better and more refined car in every possible way. |

My chevy Cavalier is a good looking car, and fun to drive. I have a 2000 convertible and I love it. Its very economic on gas, and gives me all the power I need. The car feels nice, and the clutch works great. I like the way it looks from the inside, to the out side. Right now everything works fine, and I always take the car on time for his oil change. Cavalier its a good sport looking car, with a 2.4L that push 150hp its all the power I need. I got a pretty good deal.
Weakness:
uhmm...everything works fine so far, I can't think of anything. I would recommend a cavalier to anyone, as long as they take good care of it. Similar Products Used: Neons, protege, sentra, tiburon, focus, escort, civics, Saturn SC1-2, stratus. all this cars are great cars, but a Z24 comes with a bigger engine and 150 horse power, all those cars don't have that much power. |

Cheap car with good gas mileage. I would drive it over my GMC 4X4 on slippery roads. The 2.2 liter has all the pep you need if you drive like a normal person. Haven't had any mechanical problems so far.
Weakness:
Seats and stereo suck and you can't drag race with it but this is what I expected when I paid peanuts for it. Please people, dont buy a cheap car and expect it to perform miracles. It's obvious shortcomings are reducing its price tag so that cheap people like me can buy a reliable 2000 vehicle and not go broke in the process. Similar Products Used: Many - for the price, this one is good. |

Strength:
Great body style, good power, the purr of the 3.1 V6, good handling
Weakness:
I regret not getting one with a 5 speed. Just personal preference. When I test drove it I loved the power, and got it inspite of the auto transmission, but now I know anything automatic is not for me because I have to be in control of what gear it's in. I like this car, no major problems. I haven't had to do anything more than routine maintenance that is required with a car that has almost 150,000 miles. (shocks, battery, headlights/taillights, brakes). Hasn't had any engine trouble, which is always nice. :) This is a good car for singles, maybe couples with 1 or 2 small children. It has a good amount of power, but not enough to be dangerous. P215/65/R15 tires are good in rain and snow (in comparison to the Acura) I am considering getting an S-10 pickup when it's time to trade, just because Ive had the economy and the sporty cars, and want a little change and would love the hauling capability of a pickup. This is a good car, I do not regret buying it. :) Similar Products Used: 1986 Acura Integra - 5 speed, 4 cylinder. Not as much power as the Z24, but I really miss that 5 speed! Acura had better handling |

I love my 1991 chevrolet Z24 I am 17 and its my first car. I love the power of its 3.1 litre V6 engine I can drive it all day. It moves very fast and I love the power I feel under my feet. Although I got automatic Its still fast even though I would like a 5spd. but it is still quick. It has great torque in its take off and I cant get sick of driving it. I also love the way that it peels out with just slamming the gas i dont think that I can get sick of that at all.
Weakness:
Well there is still a few things I dont like about it like the fact that it is not has fast has I like my cars. I like to feel like I am in a bullet when I slam the gas but it doesn't feel like that but dont get me wrong it is still a fast car and man does it move. Its 3.1 litre V6 engine is phenomenal. Its power is definately recognized and not missed by anyone. I would recomend it to many. I spent $3400.00(canadian) on it and it was worth every penny. This is the kind of car that everyone should have. Reliable, dependant, and fassst. Similar Products Used: My parents have a 1998 Gmc jimmy which moves fast and its nearly unstopable but a few months back back they had brought it in for some sevices and they got a 2000 Grand am for a rental and I drove that and let me tell you this is a car of pure speed and non-stop gas acceleration. You can feel the extreme power of the Grand am under your feet and through out your soul this is the way my car has to be top speed of about 220-260km/h and i am a happy guy. |

I really enjoy all the standard power features.Cool wheels. Tape/cd player combo is nice. Can't complain about the engine power, especially for the price. If you live in Houston TX, DO NOT buy a car from BILL HEARD CHEVROLET!!!! They screwed me so bad. They told me I was paying $16,000 for the car. After being there for over 8 hours, I didn't feel like reading the fine print. I trusted, what they said. BIG mistake, I get home and find out that I really paid $18,000. I know, my fault. Anyway, it's still cheap.
Weakness:
It has a loud clunking sound in the steering wheel that the dealer can't fix. The gas tank reading is off, I've already ran out of gas 3 time, they can't fix that either. The trunk is very easy to get into, so don't put your goods in it. The engine is loud. Seats are uncomfotable. Overall, I would recommend this car.If you are a first time buyer it's great because it's cheap. Not recommended for a family, not enough interior room. It gets the job done. I don't how I feel about reliability, I haven't had any major problems yet, but I can feel some coming. It has pretty good handling. If you are on a budget and want a new car, then this is defenitly the way to go!! Similar Products Used: Honda Civic, MUCH BETTER!! |
