Weakness:
not any, maybe the headgasket On this car I have replaced a few things Similar Products Used: better than dodge neon, comparible to a 91 or above civic or a 94 lebaron |

Cavalier Coupe
Strength:
I had a 1992 Cavalier that worked it's heart out for me so I decided to stick with that model and get a newer Cavalier. So far I have fallen in love with it. It doesn't have the best 0-60 speed, but it will go from 60-100 fairly quick. My 1992 Cavalier would be scary to drive at 95 MPH, but my 1999 Cavalier flies at 105 MPH and I can barely tell. I love the comfort, the seats are very comfortable and supportive for my back. Good traction, real responsive steering and handling. The ride is very smooth. Very quiet inside the car even at high speeds. I like the features on CD player.
Weakness:
Nothing as far as the car goes, but I really think the rear speakers suck. The front speakers are very well tuned and capable of ample bass reproduction for their size but the rear speakers should be larger 6X9s. I was quite ridiculed with the bass (or lack of) in the rear. This will force me to buy a small subwoofer just to get some low end from the stereo. So far, nothing but smiles. I'll be smiling even more when I replace the front speakers for better fidelity and add a small subwoofer in the trunk for better bass from the rear. Where should I begin.. I really like the exterior looks of my car. It is white, fact. ground effects. It had really low miles when I got it, good for being my first car. I have had quite a few problems with it. (below) It is fun to drive when the check engine light does not come off and on. I can't figure out what it is, but may be the oxygen sensor. HIGH BACK SEATS. CAN GET UNCOMFORTABLE AT TIMES. I AM REALY HAPPY WITH MY 98 Z24. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS SO FAR .IT IS QUICK OFF THE LINE.,AND SMOKES YOUR NEONS,HONDAS AND THE LIKE. MADE SOME PREFORMANCE MODS TO ADD HP AND TORQUE AND MY Z CAN MOVE.I AM 4O YEARS OLD AND HAVE BEEN HOTRODDING SINCE I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL.THIS Z24 COMPARES TO MY 66PLYMOUTH BARRICUDA 225CI 6BANGER WITH MODS HAD AROUND 210 HP. BUT NOW I AM A CHEVY FAN. I HIGHLY RECOMEND THE CHEVY CAVZ24 MODEL TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A SPORT COMPACT CAR NOT TO EXPENSIVE,POWER TO BOOT, AND A WHOLE LOT OF FUN TO DRIVE. Similar Products Used: 66PLY.BARRICUDA.GOOD HP AND TORQUE,BUT NOT AS FAST. 95 PLYMOUTH NEON SPORT GOOD ACCLERATION GOOD PICK-UP WHEN TUNED RIGHT BUT BOTH CARS DONT HAVE THE GET UP AND GO AS MY Z HAS. |

Cavalier Convertible LS
Strength:
It is a sporty ride in the summer months and attracts a lot of attention. The little car has quite a bit of power for a 4 cyl 2.4 motor. Great on gas & dependable & very warm in winter for a convertible...nothing like the old ones.
Weakness:
I don't know where to begin...the car only has 83,000 miles on it and the water pump is going which costs over $350 just for labor since it's burried down in the motor. Also, it's famous for blowing head gaskets (at least $500 more). It's control arms & bushings have never been fixed totally right from the factory. Also, the wheel bearing keeps going out on it. It's ABS totally stinks...better not to have it. There are tons of noises from dash, etc. It's only good for the highway drives & not everyday use. It's starting to use oil already. The car isn't built as strong as the old cavaliers...it feels like it's gonna fall apart when you get it up to 70 mph on the road. Also, the trade in value stinks...no one will give over $4000 for it. I listed all the reasons under weakness for the car. It's a bad investment so don't buy one! The new Cavaliers don't even begin to compare to the old Cavs!!! '91 Cavalier drove like a tank...I went through snow that was over the hood before like it was nothing. It's a very good car but the new ones are made very cheap! Similar Products Used: '91 Cavalier & '86 Ford LTD (midsize). The Ford sucks & would never buy another one....engine blew at 102,000 miles. The '91 Cav was the best...that car still runs on a bad engine. It's built strong & too last. I put many miles on that car with little problems. It was very dependable & well worth the money |

- Good value for the price
Weakness:
- No door or truck warning light for being open Overall I have been happy with the vehicle, if you're expecting the quality of a Lexus, Infinity, BMW, etc., then you're going to be really disappointed; the car is an Economy car! I have a total of 105,000Km or 68,000 miles (the car was bought new in Oct/96) on the car and other than regular maintenance I spent $40US for the visor...I would say that is really good for any class car. Cavalier 2.0 L
Strength:
Good price, nice-looking car, nice paint colours to choose from (does not seem to chip or scratch easily), can outrace the Pontiac Sunfire, usually comes standard with tilt steering, a/c, a tape player (yeah...), back seat goes down, standard airbags, Gm roadside (don't they all though?), got hit in a parking lot once and the paint just got chipped off but the bumper did not move at all which was nice...
Weakness:
What you pay for is what you get-cheap looking interior, radio buttons are almost completely faded off, no horespower whatsover (stepping on the gas pedal too fast makes the car sound like it will blow up at any second), cheap factory system, cheap looking hubcaps. Had a 94' before this one and had to replace fuel pump after 6 months, engine warning light would'nt come off, took in in for 3 recalls within 2 years, muffler made noise (and is starting on the new one which just over a year old, anti-lock breaks kick in in small puddles etc.., have to pay an extra 6 G's for a 2.4 engine that has hardly any more speed or horsepower then the 2.0, useless power stuff, a sunroof, a crappy cd player, and cheap looking skirts. Overall the experience with this car was not bad-it is a nice looking car and the value is pretty good for the money. Had a few problems with the car but nothing ever really serious that required major work. Engine seems to have been built fairly well but the cheap interior needs work. Similar Products Used: Pontiac Sunfire-even cheaper looking inside then the Cavaliar, engine sucks, ugly exterior that looks like a space craft from behind |

Strength:
Faster than hell... I was able to get a speeding ticket 1/10 mile from my house... 80 in a 55 if that gives you and idea. I have only topped it out at 118mph due to running 5500rpms and it red lines at 6000rpms, and I dont want to push it with the car having 130,000 miles on it.
Weakness:
Hard to find used parts cuz the damn things are still on the road or they have been totaled and crushed. Nice looking sport like car, kind of tight inside but fits 5 people. Plenty of zip for the little 2.8 V6 that powers the beasts. Handles good for the 14" rubber, gets pretty good gas mile about 20 to 26 depending on the roads traveled. They best part is people will always race you cuz they are like... its only a Cavalier......... Similar Products Used: compared to new cars, it isn't as smooth riding but the Z will smoke most other mid size cars in top end and in accelleration. Even those freaking hondas. |
