Electrical system sucks, the rear defroster doesn't work, cruise control doesn't work. I have had to have the power windows fixed twice, also the wiper motor has gone out twice. Constant burning smell from motor, tends to overheat with full coolant. Ball joint busted, rear view mirror fell off. I would recommend this car (or any American made car) to my worst enema. The engineering is sub-standard and the maintenance costs an arm and a leg. Similar Products Used: Nissan Altima. As with all foreign vehicles the Altima is a much better engineered car. I will never buy a domestic car again. |

Nice Driving car. What impressed me most about it at first was the handling of the car, much better than expected (not glued tot he road or anything, but not bad ) good power, 3.1 V6 which was replaced in 1995 , the 1990 3.1 had that recall after about 25K miles
Weakness:
kinda makes that "weeasy" groning noise when it accelerates ( only on the inside) , uhh mine has tan interior im not crazy about, stock radio sucked as usuial, front/rear brakes squeaked( due to small rotors and excessive break dust buildup) theese cars are bulletproof.. i mean how many do u see on the road every day? good over all car.. can be somewhat fun to drive. easy and comfortable to drive. good expressway car, mainly what i use it for. i had to upgrade the stereo .. put a in-dash cd player, 4 new speakers, amp and one sub. (pioneer and fosgate) all i can say is i expect decent relibality from mine considering i dont beat the crap out of it. good car for little money. i paid 2400 ( before the stereo) and it had 75K ive already put a little over 4K on it in around 5 months. This car moves. The 3.4L engine has good take off and has beat any car in the towns nearest me in dragging. The set up of the car is gorgeous. Its body design is beautiful and the room inside the trunk and cab is excelent. the suspension is good in corners and on the feeway,Ha Ha, this thing put a Lexus to shame and in the dust.Gets 27-30 miles per gallon on highway but 21-26 in town.Like the vents on the hood and dual exhaust.Bought mine used with 45k miles now it has 65k miles and I haven't had any major repairs to do.I've Managed to put a'97 Camaro to sleep.
Weakness:
Braking isn't the best and the car slips when the roads are wet.I hit my head when I get in though.Repair is slightly high and when the timming belt goes you have some money to fork over.No cup holder sux and engine compartment is a pain to work in. This car is the bomb. I got it for cheap, it picks up the ladies, and this car has some wood under the hood. I paid 4,500 but it was smashed up. the car is good as an alternative Vette or Camaro.Good looking and very nice.Ihave recommended this car to many and lots of people like mine. Buy it if you get the oppertunity.Best car I've had Similar Products Used: Cavaier,'96 Impala,Camaro |

-Kick-Butt acceleration: As soon as the light turns green, and you put your foot on the gas, you leave everyone in the dust.
Weakness:
Waist of space any way you slice it: the hood is too darn long you don't have a good idea of how much distance is between your car and the car in front of you. The diameter of the steering wheel is too wide that it blocks the driver's view of the instrument panel. The dashboard protrudes too much into the driver's face. Suspension gets kinda week on bumpy roads. Front seats don't go back far enough for taller drivers. Buttons for AC and sound system look tacky. Well, this model is discontinued now and will go under the name of Impala. I've seen the new Impalas and they look UUUUUGGGGGLY! I like the fact I didn't have to take it to the shop for any major repairs- just the door locks. I am 6'1" and I felt clostraphobic driving the car. For the money, I can't complain at all. Better space management is my only area of concern. I got this car that didn't have ABS and it braked fine. I have 85k miles on it after 5 years but don't know whether or not it will break down in the near future. I better knock on wood! I am skeptical about the reliability of american cars, but for an american car, the lumina has been pretty reliable for me. I would not recommend this car used if it has more than 85k miles on it because american cars are not built to last that long like their japanese counterparts. Similar Products Used: None. I'm thinking about an Intrepid though. |

This is a solidly built car, I have found it very dependable. The power is smooth and quick. I have had the car for a year and a half and have had no major problems. I am in the Army and travel a lot between states and put a lot of miles on it. It has never let me down.
Weakness:
The way some of the things in the engine are arranged make simple things hard to get to. I have found some common parts to be rather expensive. I paid $11,000 for it as a program car with 43000 miles on it back in 1999. The car was in excellent shape. I was impressed with the space and room, especially in the trunk. The interior is nice and the over all appearance of the car is great. I definitely recommend this car. Similar Products Used: None |

Very roomy. Had good power for a V-6. Good looking car. Huge trunk.
Weakness:
Very expsensive engine, especially for a seventeen year old. Bad in snow, that is why I wrapped mine around a tree, and it roads weren't that bad. I paid 4,000 for mine and I only had it about six months. I never regret buying that car. For that six months I had a car I absolutely loved. It was big enough to swallow all my friends, the trunk was big enough that I used it as a closet and it was a blast to drive. If you have the money to maintain the engine definetly a must have car, but you should have another for bad weather. Great car!! Looks okay. No rust, car handles fairly well for one of its size. Okay mileage (20 city, 27-8 highway), large trunk, roomy interior.
Weakness:
Lots of small design quirks (no cupholder, dash ledge overhangs display panel, center taillight blocks out section of rearview mirror), needs a lot of maintenance to keep running properly. I got it used in '96, almost got it paid off and will probably sell it ASAP. It worked fine for a couple of years, but has started developing more and more problems, usually with the electrical system. There's probably a short somewhere in the wiring, and I've had it in four times in the past two months trying to get it fixed. Problems have included: Similar Products Used: None |

runs like a dream ya it takes some doing but it is posible to do your own work on it (Ive done the brakes, alternator and replaced the fuel injectors) its a tight fit but with a good repair book you can save your self some big-time cash
Weakness:
lack of after market parts and what is out there is big$ I got a 92 Z34 and paid 6500.00 for it this thing is a tank I travel 15 1/2 hours to school and have never had a breakdown the car will warn you when the little things you cant hear happen and you can get it fixed befor it gets spendy. If you dont like to mantain a car dont even think about this one, because if you start putting of fixing it it will blow up Similar Products Used: Ive had 2 of luninas the first was a 91 euro 3.1 and I thought it was fast |

Good car for the money. Reliable so far. Room for the kids, etc... Safe. Comfortable ride.
Weakness:
"Scrunching" noise when braking at slow speeds in the steering system, checked it out and found no apparent cause and does not seem to affect performance... A slight "clicking" noise in the front end when driving, unable to locate source at this time... Brakes are at times noisey, but otherwise seem normal... Around $6000 paid. It was a high mileage car (89,000) when I bought it, has over 101,000 now... A really good deal for all that this car has to offer. Overall, this car has been good to me so far!!! I would recommend it for someone looking for reliability, room, and good features for the money... Similar Products Used: Always drove a truck... My first car, So: No comparison!!! |
