Strength:

Interior room, acceleration of the V-6, I disagree with many others when I say the handling is good. You can really hold your speed on turns. Trunk room.

Weakness:

Brakes, brakes, brakes, electrical system, water pump.

The front brakes are truly a disgrace. They need to be replaced at a ridiculous rate, and the rotors need to be replaced almost every time. The first 2 years the cost of the rotors were outrageous. The inconvenience and cost gives this auto a two thumbs down ratign.

Strength:

Lots of engine room. Comfortable bench seats. Everything is easy to fix. Aftermarket parts are becoming more avialable. Good Street/Strip Car.

Weakness:

A must to change wheels and tires. Suspension.

Great Car! Really show what Chevy is capable of. I have yet to repair the car. Of course when I bought it (140,000 miles) I gave it a major tune-up (plugs, wires, fluids, belts, filters, etc.) All the parts were cheap and plenty of engine room to work on. For a total of maybe $1100.00 it''s one of the better cars I''ve owned. Its a daily driver, great on the highway, and a great platform for the strip.

Strength:

Looks nice and roomy interior. Nice stereo.

Weakness:

The whole car is a weakness.

This is the worst car I have ever came in contact with. I have had problems since day one. Yes it is old but there are cars that are older than mine running like brand new. Brakes, tail lights, engine. Everything is a problem on this car. I have had my car in the shop so many times and they still can not pin point the problem. I want to trade it in but with what? Trade in value is horrible.

Great family car...Very roomy for a midsize sedan - big backseat. Huge trunk space Powerful V6 Nice stereo and CD player Affordable Lots of standards with LS model

Weakness:

NONE

I love it!!! I bought it used with 30k miles on it and it now has 59k and I have had no problems with it. After reading the other reviews, I was very surprised of the problems that people have had. It seems that the newer models, 00''s and 01''s have had the most problems. Overall, it''s a great car that I plan to keep for a long time. I recommend it to everyone.

Strength:

Appearance, interior space, price. Much better car than the more expensive but crummy VW Passat that I traded in when I purchased the Malibu.

Weakness:

Trade in value, mediocre air conditioning, poor suspension - front passengers all complained that turns made them dizzy. Brake problem-when I went down steep hills (mountainous roads), the brakes started vibrating so badly it was difficult to control the car. This condition existed the entire three years of ownership. I reported it as a safety defect to the federal safety web site.

Purchased new in May 1998 and traded it in with 27,500 miles in June 2001. Decent car for the price. My one mechanical problem occured two weeks after the three year warranty expired. Bad starter. In June 2001 I traded it on a new accord. The car was strting to sound old (rattles increasing on a daily basis.

obviously made like garbage.

The car is another chevy lemon. Airconditioning replaced twice, CD player once and now at 45,000 miles with the coolant light flashing is in the shop with the diagnosis of leakig lower manifold gasket, leaking rear main seal and bad water pump. I took it in the second that light flashed!! I have taken great care of this car. What can we do about this inferior workmanship?? Help!!

Strength:

Attractive car -ok gas mileage, roomy interior, comfortable seating, decent sound. No engine problems of any kind.

Weakness:

Very poor handling, lots of road noise and rattles.

Love my car when I first bought it, but am now happy that my lease is almost over. When accerlating from a stop, it feels like the rear wheels/transmission slip and then catch. I''ve replaced brake lights/turn signals/tail lights 3 times and had brakes replaced once. The biggest problem, which took forever to diagnose, was a very bad grinding sound when making turns - it was especially bad when the car was cold. It started at 20,000 miles and was fixed at 34,000 by replacing the power steering pump. This problem was truly scary

MOTOR, SOMEBODYS GETTING RICH OFF THE WARRANTY WORK ON THIS CAR

I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR SO MANY THINGS. FIRST IT WAS THE LIFTERS WERE REPLACED.(9 DAYS IN THE SHOP) THAN THE PISTONS HAD TO BE REPLACED. (ANOTHER WEEK IN THE SHOP)NOW AS I TYPE THIS I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO MAKE AN APPT. TO GET IT BACK IN BECAUSE NOW MY BELTS ARE MAKING NOISE AND MY LOW COOLANT LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING. YOU WOULD THINK AS MANY TIMES AS THEY HAVE BEEN IN THE MOTOR I WOULDN"T BE HAVING ANY PROLEMS. WRONG. I WOULD TRADE IT IN UT NO RESELL VALUE. I GUESS THE WORD IS OUT ON THIS CAR. IF YOU ARE SMART YOU WILL STAY AWAY,FAR AWAY FROM THIS CAR.

Strength:

Handling (for 3,000 km after you leave the lot), trunk space, the standard CD player and tape deck are nice.

Weakness:

The inability to stop without shaking like a Brazilian in a Arctic Snowstorm...the warranty...GM Customer service.

As most of the other reviews have mentioned, this car has serious issues. In two years, I have had the brake pads replaced twice, the rotors turned three times, and the sensors replaced once. What good is a warranty that doesn''t cover manufacturer defects???? For those of you leaving good reviews about this car...wait a year...then come back and leave new one.
